This is the most dangerous and unsanitary hotel I have EVER stayed in, with staff members who do not do their very simple jobs and are extremely rude.
Want soap to wash your hands after using the bathroom? Find another Hotel (No soap EVEN in their restaurant bathrooms!).
Do you want clean towels to shower with after their dangerous food gives you dairrhea? Find another hotel.
Do you want SAFE food to eat? Find another hotel.
Do you want a hotel where staff members do the very BARE minimum so you have sanitary conditions and basic required amenities? Find another hotel.
None of their restrooms had any soap, including their restaurant bathroom! Yes, that means you have to use the toilet then rinse your hands with only water, then return to eat your food. Extremely gross and unsanitary!!
Their restaurant sold me FAKE dangerous food. I ordered the Impossible burger and they gave me some cheap supermarket chunky veggie patty instead (not on their menu) and their staff LIED to me about what they sold me. I asked more than once and they looked at me in the eyes and told me it was an Impossible burger, when it was CLEARLY not. It was grey with huge vegetable chunks. I ate it anyways as to not waste food, and it made me sick!!
I woke up the next morning with awful diarrhea from their fake illegal version of their "Impossible" burger and I wanted to take a shower since I was sick and on the toilet with the runs for almost an hour.
I called to ask for a towel. There was only one staff member who said that I had to come to the lobby for the towel. I said no problem and went for the towel. I got partially dressed and went down to the lobby to get a towel. No one was there. I waited 10 minutes, went back upstairs and called again. The staff member lied to me and said they were there the whole time! I had JUST waited 10 minutes at the lobby desk for towels after calling, and no one was there. The staff put me on hold for about 10 minutes, then told me to come back down for towels again. I told them I just came down for towels and no one was there! I had to go back down (from the 11th floor) and it took me over 30 minutes to finally get any towels, JUST to take a shower in the morning after their food made me sick for an hour.
When I confronted the staff member about not doing their very simple jobs and for lying to me, when I just wanted a towel to shower with in the morning so I could start my day, they were extremely RUDE! They lied to me and slammed their office door on me. Then, they returned with a SINGLE towel! They said that they ran out of clean towels (at 6:30 AM).
When I shared my experience with the hotel manager, he was also extremely rude and constantly spoke over me. The only thing he did for me was refund me for $30. He was as useful as his staff members, who did not do their very simple jobs (leaving you with an extremely unsanitary hotel that does not provide the VERY basics).
What an awful form of compensation for being sold fake food, being made sick, having zero soap for my entire stay, dealing with extremely rude staff who lie, create unsanitary and dangerous conditions and who withhold basic amenities such as towels.
I should have called the Impossible Brand before complaining so this place could get in serious trouble for illegally selling burgers under their brand. This place would have been in serious trouble! The hotel manager said he took care of it, so I saved him and his hotel from a...
Read moreThis hotel was okay in terms of the basics, but I will never go back there or back to another Crowne Plaza or IHG property again because: 1. my lost iPad was not turned into lost and found and is gone, and 2. the reviews that I tried to submit to IHG were consistently rejected/censored. More details below:
iPad: Unfortunately, I left my iPad in the room when I checked out. The iPad was in plain sight on the bed, fully charged, and powered on - I am 100% certain of this. I realized my mistake about 10 hours later and immediately called and emailed the hotel.
The 'lost and found' person was gone for the day and I was told to call back. After several attempts to talk with someone to arrange for the retrieval of the iPad, I was told that it had not been found.
I also immediately used Apple's device location service/application to attempt to locate the iPad, but the iPad had apparently been turned off. I put it in ‘notification mode’ so that it would display my contact info if connected to the internet again - but it has been about a week and has not come back online.
The hotel was apologetic and I know that it was a mistake to leave the iPad there. Still though, it is illegal to keep something you ‘find’ and it sucks that someone did this. I will never know what really happened to the iPad but given the fact that the hotel staff entered the room to service it, I do suspect that it was taken at that time. I believe that this is called circumstantial evidence and certainly is the most plausible explanation in my opinion - but again there is no way to prove it or even to accuse an individual without actual evidence.
IHG review: I attempted about six times to submit a review to IHG (parent or licensing company of Crowne Plaza?). My reviews were pretty basic and not very harsh. Each time the review was rejected with the excuse: ‘contains legally sensitive content’. Here are two actual review that were rejected: ‘The Saddle Brook Crowne Plaza was fine overall but I stupidly left my iPad in plain sight on the bed when leaving. I realized my mistake about 10 hours later and called the hotel immediately. I got the run-around that evening and for most of the next day. Ultimately the iPad disappeared and was never turned in to lost and found. Gone forever, sad. And for that reason, I cannot recommend this hotel.’
’I cannot go into details about what happened to me at this horrible place. Suffice it to say that it is not a safe and honest place to stay. I will never go back to this hotel. And I encourage any traveller to avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of other places nearby.’
I contacted IHG about the rejections and they responded in part: ‘Our surveys are handled through a third party company and as such we are not aware of their processes.’
So in my mind, this organization is disorganized, dishonest, and immoral.
In conclusion, between the missing iPad and the shady review process I created this review for others to see and I will never use IHG and/or Crowne Plaza properties again. You have...
Read moreDONT STAY ON WEEKENDS. The 12th floor is an independent restaurant. Not under the control of hotel management. The restaurant Manager, Eddie, has private parties, guests aren’t allowed and food to hotel guests isn’t served. I’m in the hotel now as I write this and it’s 2:50 in the morning, May 7th. The music has been almost rocking the frame of the hotel since 9pm. They told me it would shut down at midnight, then 1am, now I’m at the front desk from 2 am to 2:30 and it just shut down at 2:30am. The front desk has been receiving numerous calls from guests in the hotel, complaining about the noise. The hotel has 12 floors and calls came in from rooms all the way down to the 5th floor. It is totally disrespectful of the hotel to hold private parties, with excessively loud music and not warn the guests before they check in. The front desk clerk, that’s another story.
I couldn’t believe it, I’m standing at the front desk and about 2:15, Eddie, the restaurant manager comes down and hands the front desk clerk a salad and a wade of cash for dealing with the guests. What, the clerk is being paid off too…. I talked with Eddie and the clerk for a few minutes. At one point in our conversation, Eddie indicates he suspects the party organizers may have guns and he was afraid of them. He too apologized but was not willing to stand up to the party promoters. He offered me food, asked if there was anything he could do for me. I’m not being paid off, I’m taking to the blogs and will tell everyone including ING Corporate about this guest treatment.
Every guest in the hotel should ask for their money back.
I spoke with security, they one guy is a retired state trooper. They too were frustrated as they say this happens every weekend since this new restaurant management took over. It’s now after 3am and the noise level has diminished but still honking of horns as the party clears out. Not sure what will happen tomorrow, but this isn’t right. The Hotel, a Crowne Plaza, shouldn’t subject it’s guests to such disruption of guests sleep.
Add this to the dirt and grim almost everywhere you look, Please stay...
