Absolutely horrible.

Dirty, not maintained, poor service, false advertising.

When I first was searching for lodging for a group motorcycle tour, I had tried on America’s Best corporate site, which wasn’t functioning properly, so I called the hotel directly. I SPECIFICALLY asked if they had laundry service/laundry room, so those on our trip could wash their dirty road clothes. They assured me they had a laundry room.

When we arrived, I bought detergent from the front desk, but then we found both washers had “Out of Order” signs on them, I went to the office to ask, he pretended to not be aware of the issue, said he’d have the maintenance person look into it right away and let me know, so we could do our laundry. Not only did he not let me know, they just pisted a new sign that the laundry room was. “Closed for the season “. I went back to the office, and he suggested a laundromat a few miles away. Why sell me detergent if you know your laundry room isn’t functional? Incredibly unprofessional.

We also wanted to take advantage of the hot tub, but that also wasn’t maintained, was cold, jets don’t work, and the water level was about a foot low.

The rooms also are not maintained, or properly cleaned. Disgusting.

Their “wifi” internet connection is incredibly unstable, and bandwidth is under 5 Mbps (measured multiple times).

Their “provided breakfast “ is an absolute joke, as well.

It’s unbelievable to me how bad this place was, when we just stayed in the America’s Best Value Inn in Newberry Mi the night before, and that was very good. Room was far superior, far better mattress and linens, CLEAN, an actual breakfast, hot tub, pool, and sauna all working fine. Sad we put off washing clothes because their laundry was functional.

I highly recommend if you are looking for lodging in St Ignace, you look elsewhere, this place is just a dump with liars...

Stayed in hot tub room....Room 221. Hot tub was great. Bed had thinnest covers ever. They need to provide some decent covers for the price we paid. The pool was great. Hot tub in the pool area was also great. Both were very clean. Beware that the motel room 221 door will not lock when you shut it unless you pull super tight. This could be dangerous as far as I am concerned. I told the office and they said they would fix it. But, who knows... So many of the workers had some sort of language barrier that I didn't know what they were explaining. They were polite and welcoming , but hard to communicate requests. Our room was not clean even at 3 pm that 2nd day so I told her to not clean it just give us towels. I don't think she knew what I was saying so I just said we need towels and said no to cleaning and shook my head. Everyone is friendly there, yes, but seems a bit mismanaged. Price was a little steep, but it was some tractor show weekend, so we were lucky to even get a room both nights.

Edit to review on June 2023--- Much better this year. The manager, Gary, was very kind. The room was basically clean, can tell it had be renovated since my last visit years ago. The hot tub jets didn't work, but it was still hot and functional and there were kids with family enjoying the pool. I never made it to the continental breakfast as the time change messed me up. The ac worked great. I did notice a huge smell of pot in parking lot, but, it's legal now, so I guess that's what one deals with. The price was steep, but it's lilac fest on the island so they always increase all prices in the area. I am more impressed this second time staying with this hotel than the first. Be careful with the lock and your key. The handle seems to jam with moisture. Gary came and helped me when my key...

Bed springs can be felt in the bed. Sheets we're old and stained along with the towels. Breakfast was not good. Not much more than mini bagels and cereal. They took the jacuzzi tub out of the room we were in and you could tell- they covered the mirror with stained pinewood slats and put a recliner in its place. Bathroom floor was sticky and dirty, along with the tub/shower surround. No microwave, which we needed. Pool looked clean but had foam on top of it. Hot tub jets didn't work and it wasn't that hot- bathwater temp but it was clean. Stairway railings are very loose and room was very dark. Curtain was wrinkled and old and the top of it let in a lot of light from the "porch light" outside the room. Bring your own pillows! Ours were flatter than pancakes and SOOO old. I didn't book this room, hubs did- he's not used to checking reviews since i usually do the booking but this was his anniversary gift to me. Won't be staying here again. The only thing that was good about this place was the location. If you need a stop over for a quick sleep- maybe. But this was a 3 night stay. I've stayed at better Econolodges for less. I was there all day friday working in our room while hubs was at a pew pew competition and never saw anyone cleaning or got a knock for our room to be cleaned, thought I might since there wasn't a do not disturb sign. Looks somewhat good when you walk in....

Location is N of St. Ignace, across from the water. It's more of a motel than a hotel, that needs fresh paint. The rooms are outdated, but clean. There's a small fridge, a TV w/ a few cable channels, hair dryer, & iron board. They provide a free continental breakfast, which is not eggs fyi, it's mini bagels, cold cereal, & coffee- get there early! There's an indoor pool, drinks to buy in the lobby, & ice for your cooler. The beds are clean & comfortable. The bathroom needs updated, but there's ample amt of hot water. We were in 115 (1st floor). We heard the upstairs guests' toddler running back & forth (boom, boom, boom, creak, creak, creak) the 1st night. I think the establishment needs new insulation/ sound proofing, quick. Overall, it's a fair/good place to stay short term. Quiet location. ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 stars. Thank you

No stars is the best way to describe this place. While waiting to speak to the guy at the desk a lady who had just booked a room came back into lobby and advised him their beds were not both made up. He went and checked another room and came back and gave her a new room key. As we were getting info to check in, the lady returned as the beds in their second room were not made either. RED FLAG. We asked to see a room before paying and the picture shown is what we found. Beds not made. Needless to say we left and suggest you find alternate accommodation in St. Ignace than Americans Best Value Inn. There's NO VALUE when you have no bed sheets and the room is not cleaned. Brutal.... We drove up the road and stayed at Aurora Borialis and it was just fine.
