Days Inn by Wyndham St. Paul-Minneapolis-Midway — Hotel in Saint Paul

Check in was terrible. We handed over our card for payment, payed on the pad on the counter, it said it was approved, then all of a sudden, we couldn't get checked in because days inn didn't receive payment. The front desk worker then told me to call my bank. Mind you, it's 9:30/9:45pm at this time. I logged into my bank account and it said the charge was pending. He then said, the payment had to be approved by my bank before we could get checked in. He then suggested I call my bank so I did. My bank told me my payment had went through. But still....wasn't able to check in because days inn 'didnt receive payment'. I finally told my bank to reverse the charge because I felt like I got robbed of my money. I don't understand how my payment ON THEIR SYSTEM went through and approved...my bank tells me my payment is approved and taken out of my account, yet days inn is telling me they didn't receive any money. I felt that was so strange and I didn't feel comfortable. So I then wanted to pay cash instead but then there was an outrageous deposit on top of our reservation. Mind you...I already felt this place tried to rob me of my money, so there's no way I wanted to pay way more. I then gave them a different card and told him I didn't want to use the pad on the counter as I felt something was wrong with it. So he manually entered my card to the computer. Approved. This whole process took about 45 minutes! After a 4 hour drive...not what I wanted to go through. The room itself was fine. The bed was very uncomfortable and could use a comforter instead of just a sheet and very thin blanket. I woke up the next day to go get breakfast, and I find out they don't serve breakfast. THEIR WEBSITE states hot breakfast is available. So, false advertising on that. I always choose a hotel with breakfast so had it said no breakfast...I would not have stayed here. All in all......not impressed and won't be staying here again. I understand technology has its issues but it was very sketchy. I have photos of the website stating there's breakfast and a photo of my card charged and approved but there isn't an...

Disgusted! I planned a mini vacation with my family and was looking for a decent budget friendly hotel for 2 nights with free continental breakfast . After trying to book a room for the local comfort inn and being notified that they were full. I googled and called the days inn hotline to book a room for minneapolis which was full .The agent I spoke with mentioned that there were rooms available at this location and asked if I wanted to book. I agreed without doing my research which was a HUGE mistake. We checked in at around 2 am. After a 7 hr drive from out of state we were exhausted. After seeing the building,a red flag went up Immediately. First of all, there is some gross bar in front that looks as if its attached to the building at first glance. I signed for our keys while my husband waited with our children.There are some VERY seedy looking people loitering around. As I'm getting my luggage to the room, an old man trys to pick me up assuming I am a prostitute. As i walk into the building I notice how outdated and unsanitary it is. Walking in the hall towards our room, I am greeted by a Strong lingering odor of smoke . I booked a smoke free room btw. Inside the hall I see dirty diapers someone left outside their door.(Are you SERIOUS?!) peeled paint...dirty carpets.... when I enter our room it has one bed when I booked a bed with two. The next day we were informed that breakfast is NOT included. which was the only reason I agreed to book this room.Completely unsanitary conditions. It was really a disapointing experience. I cant beleive what this hotel charged for rooms originally and I cant beleive what I paid WITH the discount. NOT worth it....

This place has BED BUGS! When I brought it up to the front desk after staying for a week they kicked me out because they didn't want them spreading to other rooms but would rather spread to another hotel. The managers and front desk were extremely rude. I had nothing but problems with this hotel this was just the worst part of it. Do not stay here they have BED BUGS!!! check bed bug registry and Google searches you will see it is true and has been a problem for years they told me they have never had a problem with them and it was my fault. I have never had a bite or mark until I came here. I stayed at this hotel for over 3 weeks and it is way over priced for how run down it is. It smells awful, my rooms were dirty, the staff is extremely rude and not helfpul. Some of the house keepers were nice and 2 older men that work the front desk were nice and helpful. The 2 female managers are extremely rude and should not work with the public. One of the front desk girls had her boyfriend and all his homes hanging out drinking beers inside and outside the hotel every night she worked. They were so loud and obnoxious she chased her kid around instead of helping guests while her friends got drunk and hung out at the hotel. Tracks bar and grill that is connected to the hotel has prostitutes that hang around. The food is not that good and the service is terrible. 25 minutes to take my order never brought me my drink and my food was cold by the time I got it 30 minutes after ordering. I saw someone start a car on fire I the parking lot and blow up and someone at that bar get stabbed. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. If you have kids do...
