Did “The Vault” room with 2 puzzlers and what a silly fun time we had! The room was well put together with puzzles just the right amount of challenging. Definitely not a “corporate escape room.” Our GM, Karen, was great at setting the scene and letting us vibe. We never needed any hints (humble brag) but I got the sense that they would have given the best ones if we needed them. I will say they spent a lot of time helping us stage our “we escaped” photo at the end - excellent customer service (: We hope to be back despite not being from St. Paul!
EDIT: We returned just a few days later to play another room because we had SO MUCH FUN. This time we brought more friends (total of 4) to take on “The Dungeon” with GM Nico as our guide. The same level of whimsy, challenge, and care was present as our original room. There was only a single puzzle mechanic that felt like it repeated between the two which I was impressed by! I also loved how this room required more teamwork between us puzzlers. Nico was the perfect level of supportive - she knew when we were on the right track and to let us cook, but also threw out some helpful guiding hints when we started on puzzles while still missing major elements required for completion. Another amazing experience at PuzzleWorks MN - we can’t wait to be back next time we’re...
Read moreThe worst experience ever in my life!!! One star only for creating fun designs of the puzzles. I was having fun the first 50mins until the last 10 minutes, we were trying to ask for a hint but nobody reply for 10 mins. I totally understood if no staff was behind the scene during the busy hours. But when I mentioned about this situation to the staff who came in after the end of the game, he said his name is Ryan (if this is real), he looked at me with a very arrogant attitude and chose to ignore my question but went to the last room directly. I thought he didn’t hear me clearly so I repeated again in front of our group, he IGNORED again!!! Even worse, he kept saying “Looks like your friends here all had fun (but only you)”. ? Excuse me? All my friends then started to ask the same question to him and then he started to realize we were ALL a little upset about his ignorance and tried the find excuse. Honestly, I have been to over 50 escape rooms in my life at different states and cities, I have never met a staff like this. I don’t think this person deserves to be a member of such wonderful escape place. His attitude totally ruined all my great memories...
Read moreA thrilling experience, this escape room is probably one of the best amongst it's kind.
Before you even begin, you have to navigate to the basement of a building and weave through long tunnels. Once you finally reach your destination, the foyer is very basic and unassuming. A warm greeting and explanation of rules before you get ushered into your room.
Then the magic happens. Somehow, the small, seemingly simple room is able to present such intricate and engaging puzzles in a very confined space. One can truly tell that all of the numerous mechanics are well thought out. Gameplay is succint yet engaging, with a superb flow from one puzzle to the next.
My group did the Nightmare at the Museum, and it was worth everything we paid and more. Laura was super helpful, assisting us when we ran into some technical difficulties with the equipment. We finished with 30 seconds to spare, and our group is already craving a return visit.
Overall, Puzzleworks provides an exceptional experience that reflects the level of effort put into the...
