This visit was definitely a 2 star deal especially considering the outrageous nightly room charge for this kind of hotel on that day. I have stayed here previously and before it was branded as a Wyndham hotel. The room charges at that time were commiserate with the hotel experience however this time...simply outrageous! Upon checking in we noticed that both restrooms in the lobby were out of order and the breakfast room looked like it needed a serious upgrade. I booked a non-smoking room and while the room may have been non-smoking immediately after it was painted, it was apparent the room is now a "smoked in room" laced with heavy fabric perfumes to mask the smell. If you absolutely cannot take the smell of smoke find another hotel because I doubt highly any room in this hotel has not been smoked in. Even my previous visits requesting a smoke-free room reeked of smoke. There is no elevator to the 2nd or 3rd floor so be prepared to drag bags up a narrow stairway. Most of the rooms appear to have an outside entrance which was good because I needed to vent the room for a couple of hours. While the rooms appear to have been redone with new beds, linens, dressers, paint, carpet and some of the bathroom area, the 20 year old dirty mini refrig was certainly out of place. The bath had no vent fans and the tile looked to be from the 70's. Only a matter of months before all the new caulk begins some serious mildew. The shower pressure was just above a sponge bath so leave extra time to take one. The new bathroom sink which is outside of the toilet/shower area was already backing up as well. Only a matter of time before these recently renovated rooms look like the hotel it is...a place to catch some sleep for a few hours with no expectations on amenities at a reasonable price. Let's talk sleep quality...beds are hard as a rock and the pillows as flat as a pancake. The "included breakfast" was an utter joke! Cereal and any bread product was stale. The waffle maker kept throwing the breaker. The coffee was so weak you could see thru. There were several men in the breakfast area at 6:30 AM and I could tell they were plotting a way forward from the "included breakfast." The good aspect of the hotel is that it is conveniently located next to some fast food places, Starbucks and a grocery store. Don't waste your time with trying the breakfast because you will become very agitated. The parking lot is very small and when the hotel is full all guests will not have a parking space and if arriving late, you must park next door. Do not overpay for these rooms and instead stick with the budget hotel options in the area where you expect to find some issues. Save your money for something else because you will just be shaking your head and cursing yourself for thinking this will be okay as an "upscaled" budget hotel with the Wyndham...
Read moreThis place is an expensive, disgusting, drug house. I've stayed here on several occasions and always had something happen. One incident I had my 'do not disturb' sign up and went across the street to the store, when I pulled back in I saw the short male Indian housekeeper knock on my door twice, when I obviously didn't answer he put his ear up to the door and used his key to go in and when I walked in behind him he claimed he was giving me clean towels even though he had already done so a hour prior and didn't have any with him or the housekeeping cart. A second incident I left to go to the hardees beside the hotel and for necessary precautions I set an umbrella behind the door so that I would be able to tell if anyone had gone in... Sure enough in that 10 minutes time span someone (I'm sure the same housekeeper) had gone in my room and stole $20 and my antique coins. Fortunate for the housekeeper, there was no camera to be reviewed. A few days later around 8:30am the same housekeeper came to my door to tell me "start packing, checkout at 11 o'clock!" I asked him why he was waking me up when I had my 'do not disturb' sign up and he said "oh that sign no matter".. He continued to knock on my door every 30 minutes after that asking me if I was ready to checkout. 10:45 rolls around and im taking my things to my vehicle and walk back up to find him in my room with my purse unzipped and him frantic. When I asked him what he was doing he immediately became defensive telling me "you get out my hotel dumb lady I call police you not leave, checkout in 10 minutes I call police!" Im not an argumentative person so I simply just laughed and shook my head and told him to go ahead that I had cameras in my room and had him on tape stealing from me, he then started yelling slanders at me and throwing his hands in my face . This place is a nasty joke. The rooms are nasty and musty, there is only one room I would stay in.. The rest have 3 different lamps with maybe 1 that works, the blinds are stained and barely hanging on, the comforters and blankets are ripped with cigarette burns and blood stains on them.. Just plain nasty! If you enjoy people partying in the parking lot and outside your door all night trashed and screaming, the housekeeper helping himself in your room to take whatever he wants, drug dealers having traffic in and out all night, the housekeeper constantly walking by your door and putting his ear up against it, him calling your room phone, then knocking on your door every few minutes and having your hard earned money stolen.. Then this is the place for you.. Otherwise run away as...
