I'm not a big review person. I'm not a big carbs person. I only showed up here by happenstance. I was unimpressed by the exterior of the building, largely unchanged from the previous restaurant that inhabited the space.
I was also wrong. Very, very wrong.
The atmosphere is beautiful. Soft piano music plays. An incense, while typically overpowering, gently wafts through the air ever so delicately saying "Welcome, won't you sit and stay a while?" The floors are clean, the tables are clean, everything is stacked and organized very deliberately. Flowers at most tables, fully stocked condiment caddies, the works. It's a excellent combination of elegance and charm, without the undeserving air of pompousness surrounding any actual fine dining establishment.
We were greeted promptly, and with great warmth. We sat ourselves and browsed the menu, which had nothing particularly surprising on it- typical Italian-esque lunch and dinner eatery options like subs, salad pizza and calzones. I did find and order one suprise, however, in "Egyptian Bread" (hilariously misspelled on the menu, obviously indicative of a small staff trying to do it all but ultimately being human) which was absolutely something special. Huge puff ball, all air, crispy on top, wonderful kind of soft and chewy on the bottom.
I don't order a lot of carb heavy meals but despite this chose a calzone to go with it. I would have a picture to go with this review if I hadn't eaten with my eyes so quickly and dived in with my hands so soon afterwards. Absolutely 100% picture perfect calzone- bread craft was unparalleled, perfect shine, seasoned appropriately across and through the dish, very good balance of cheese to other piping hot fillings. It was delicious and tasted like the quality of the ingredients was higher than they probably are for this style of dining. I could go on!
Overall, the one thing, more than anything else, that shone through during the entire experience was this: the ownership understands what it means to hold to an absolute Commitment to Excellence without over extending their resources on lavish extras, which helps keep the pricing as good as any restaurant in the segment if not better.
If you want a fast casual place for lunch, or an unassuming dinner date at a place that will feed you phenomenal food without paying exorbitant prices, this is unequivocally your go to spot and if you're on the fence, let this be your sign: Give These People...
Read moreFirst time eating at restaurant and likely our last. Ordered XL pepperoni pizza and lasagna w/ house salad. After order was placed, didn’t receive salad for over 15 minutes. Waitress was nice but was overwhelmed with waiting tables, taking phone orders and cleaning tables. She didn’t have any help. Pizza finally came but unfortunately it was wrong. It was a jumbo supreme not pepperoni like we ordered. Waitress was sorry and started to cry. We said don’t worry about it. Told her we would pay for it but asked to make a small pepperoni bc my brother doesn’t like supreme. The cook and back started to speak loudly at our waitress and spoke a language I didn’t understand and our waitress said she was done and left the building. Another man came into building and was nice and asked if everything was right. We explained what took place. He offered to discount but we said no thanks. We said mistakes happen and we were fine with the mistake but was concerned about our waitress. The other guest sitting at the 4 tables around us were also upset with how waitress was being treated. One man said they cannot keep staff. May give it one more try but it will be awhile before we go back. Will stay up with other reviews to see if...
Read moreReview update! I’ve always loved Tovoli Pizza for their great pizzas, but this time I decided to try their burgers and wow, I’m glad I did! I ordered 4 different types, including the Spicy Nacho Burger and the Swiss Mushroom Burger, and every single one was absolutely amazing. Each burger was juicy, fresh.Highly recommend trying their burgers if you haven’t yet they’re definitely on the same top quality level as their pizzas!
Experience with TIVOLI PIZZA was nothing short of exceptional. From the friendly staff to the outstanding quality of the food and the atmosphere was really nice, truly earned my highest recommendation. The steak itself was out of the world, tender, juicy, and rich with flavor. I can say that it was the best steak i have ever had. It was evident that Tivoli Pizza uses high-quality ingredients to create their subs. They have a lot of variety menu, so next time I'll try their pizza as a recommendation from customer. It took a bit longer to order, but the food deserves this wait! I'll definitely...
