My husband and I recently took our 2 month old to this hotel for her first hotel stay. The hotel itself was gorgeous, especially for New Hampshire. The lobby and our room were beautiful. We also loved the pool and the adorable cafe downstairs. Also, it’s right in the heart of Tuscan Village making it a prime location. There’s so much to eat and enjoy steps away. ||||This could really be a five star hotel if they improved on service. It wasn’t terrible, it just didn’t match the hotel’s appearance. First, we got there early, at around 12:30. Check in wasn’t until 3 so I didn’t expect a room to be ready that early but they told us to check back in an hour. We ended up not checking back in until 3, at which point they told us a room still wasn’t ready. There was a huge line of people waiting to be checked in and didn’t want to have to wait again so I asked if there were any king rooms available instead of queen and luckily, there was. I honestly didn’t even want the queen room anyway but the website made me book a queen due to having a child with us. Like I mentioned, the room was really nice and I loved that it was a newer hotel that actually had shelves in the shower! hallelujah! I also loved the magnetic do not disturb signs. Game changer! However, were a few stray hairs in the shower.||||One major issue I had was that I was unable to connect our Nanit baby monitor to the hotel’s wifi because to connect, you need a network password, not a name and room number like the hotel asks for to connect. I went down to the front desk twice trying to find out if they had a network password and I was given one but I don’t think it was correct because it still wouldn’t work. There were only two people working at the front desk and although they were very nice, they weren’t really able to assist me further (despite trying their hardest) and seemed unequipped to handle the multiple complaints that were coming their way while I was down there. I eventually gave up on the baby monitor which had me a bit uneasy. Instead, I wheeled the baby’s bassinet in between the wall and the bed so that she was literally right next to me and I could see over the edge from the bed, making it hard for me to get in and out of the bed. We generally like to have a birds eye view of her hence our reasoning for bringing the monitor. In the future, I’ll make sure to have a plan B when traveling. I’m not faulting the employees at all. I just think the hotel was understaffed and that they needed some additional training.||||Also on the service side of things, someone dropped their covid mask on the floor by the elevators and it was still there the next morning…for over 12 hours!||||We did enjoy the cafe downstairs for breastfast. I got a smoked salmon bagel and at $9.50, I found that to be a bargain as they’re usually a lot more at hotels. I also got a cappuccino which was delicious! We will definitely be back to this hotel, especially when our baby is a little older so she can enjoy the surrounding...
Read moreWe have stayed everywhere from basic airport hotels to St. Regis, Four Seasons, and Aman properties and are Lifetime Platinum Elite members with Marriott (and previously SPG). We know the difference between true luxury and mid-tier, and we don’t expect Aman-level service here… But this hotel positions itself as “premium” within Marriott’s portfolio and fails badly to deliver!||Check-in was insanely disorganized from the start: no bell carts (seriously, they just didn’t have any; that’s a new one! the bellman just dropped our bags in the lobby and left), no early room check-in despite advance notice, and then the real problem: they couldn’t even get us into a room at their own standard check-in time. With a pregnant wife in the third trimester and a toddler, we ended up sitting in the lobby and waiting. And waiting. No updates. No offer of a bottle of water. Nothing. Just waiting. By the time we were provided a room, it was only to find out that none of the items we requested were in the room (crib, diaper genie, pregnancy pillow, etc) and our luggage took another 45 minutes to be delivered while our child sat in a wet diaper. We lost our entire first afternoon and all of our plans were ruined because it was literally almost 5 PM by the time we were in our room with our luggage.||The biggest issue, though, is that this hotel has no cribs. Yes, you can request one when booking! You’d think that means they have them, right? No. Instead, we were brought a dirty, sticky pack-and-play. For nearly $400 a night, this is shocking. Even budget hotels manage proper cribs. Our child has never slept well in a pack-and-play, and as I write this after 10 PM, he is still awake — while loud noise from the nearby venues, motorcycles and crowds in Tuscan Village makes it even harder.||Other shortcomings: they actually don’t have nor provide pregnancy pillows nor diaper genies; nothing to support families. Cleanliness was lacking — my two year old picked up trash left that was left behind the media console and the pack-and-play they delivered was dirty and sticky as stated and we had to clean it thoroughly. My wife was disgusted. Lastly, the staff never acknowledged our loyalty status. No upgrade, no apology that upgrades were unavailable, no “thank you for your loyalty,” and by the way, to fellow loyalty members, this hotel doesn’t accept Suite Night Awards either. What’s the point of having them if no one takes them anymore? Marriott has truly gone down the toilet lately.||Bottom line: this property is NOT family friendly, fails to provide basic and simple accommodations that most other hotels do, and deliver subpar service for the price. If you are traveling with children or expecting reliable service,...
Read moreI can’t say enough about my stay at The Artisan Hotel at Tuscan Village,it was phenomenal from start to finish. The moment you walk in, you feel like you’ve stepped into something special. The design is modern and elegant but still warm and welcoming, with little touches that really make it stand out as a boutique hotel.
The rooms are spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. My bed was incredibly comfortable, and every detail ,from the lighting to the finishes , made it feel luxurious without being over the top.
The amenities are a big highlight. The outdoor pool area is beautiful with cabanas and a hot tub, perfect for relaxing in the afternoon. The fitness center is bright and modern, with the option to work out indoors or outside. Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, and I loved having easy access to the little market in the lobby for snacks and drinks.
Dining here is outstanding. Tuscan Kitchen is attached to the hotel, and the food is next level fresh, flavorful, and authentically Italian. Mornings at Caffé Artisan were a treat too, with coffee and fresh pastries that made it easy to start the day. And the Rooftop Bar & Lounge is a must great cocktails, fun atmosphere, and a view that makes it feel like a city escape without ever leaving Salem.
Another thing I loved is the location. Being right in the heart of Tuscan Village means you can walk to restaurants, shops, and entertainment. It’s more than just a hotel stay it feels like being part of a little community with everything at your fingertips.
The staff deserves a special mention too. Everyone I interacted with was professional, warm, and genuinely helpful. From check-in to dining service, you can tell the team here cares about making the experience exceptional.
If I had one small note, it’s that the hotel has a lively vibe, especially near the pool or rooftop when events are happening, so light sleepers might want to request a quieter room. But honestly, that energy is part of what makes this place so fun.
Overall, The Artisan Hotel at Tuscan Village exceeded my expectations in every way. It’s the perfect balance of luxury, comfort, and vibrant atmosphere. Whether you’re here for a weekend getaway, a special celebration, or even a business trip, this hotel delivers something memorable. I can’t wait to come back! Big thank you to Janelle !!!!...
