Worst Marriott Hotel Ever!!!! Do not stay here!!! This particular Courtyard is a disgrace to the Marriott hotel chain. From management, Front Staff, Maintenance, Housekeeping, you name it. No manager on duty during night time. General Manager named Krystal did not even have the effort to contact us after all our complaints with the services and accomodations my family received at this hotel, after numerous messages left with the front staff and notes on our account. That we were wanting to talk to her about the lack of service. We are definitely contacting Marriott Corporate Office regarding the numerous incidents at this hotel. These pictures were just one of the incidents we experienced at this hotel that we would come back to our room with this condition late evening during our stay for 5 days not having our room serviced by the housekeeping department even with numerous complaints and requests.

AVOID. Terrible hotel and stay. No housekeeping unless you request, I requested for every day, never showed up. Then of course the desk apologized and said housekeeping was long gone. Hotel looks like a war zone, black plastic covering most the lobby area and more, wallpaper ripped off most of the walls on my floor. Should really close when trashing the place for renovation. Old, noisy combi heat/cooling, awful fluorescent lights throughout. I'd be hard pressed to let my dog stay here. Experience the fine accomodations in the images below. Couldn't show housekeeping since it wasn't an offered service.

Stayed for two nights this past weekend. There was some light construction and renovations, but nothing that impacted my stay. They recognized my status with Marriott and upgraded my room. The location was great for me, since I wanted to visit family out by the dunes and get out to Monterey, both of which were within 30 minutes drive and no traffic. The bed was comfortable and room was quiet. A little warm so had to run the AC. Everything was clean and they had a nice gym on the first floor. I'd stay here again if I was visiting the Monterey area.

Totally fed up with this place. Can't tell if the employees are incompetent or crooked. Ultimately it doesn't really matter because the result was the same.

Booked three rooms for out of town wedding party 10/2-10/4 (at $200/night) I called ahead and asked if they could check in without me as we were mid-wedding chaos and people were coming and going at different times. They said yes, and also let some of us drop off luggage before check in which they said they would put in our rooms for us.

When my bridesmaids arrived without me but with the reservation info and the card used to make the reservation, the Courtyard refused to check in without supplying their own credit cards. They assured them it was only for incidentals and they wouldn't be charged.

They then wouldn't let my sister in the same room they had put the luggage she dropped off earlier. I wasn't there, but was told the employees were rude and things got kind of nasty and my sister and another bridesmaid were forced to sit in the lobby until 11pm while they figured out their mess. The manager Lisa called me the next day to apologize. She spoke to my sister and I thought everything had been cleared up.

That is until a week after the wedding when my sister finds out her credit card has been charged. My husband called the Courtyard the night we found out and tried to have them reverse my sister's charge and charge our card. The person he spoke to was incredibly unhelpful and wouldn't transfer him to the manager, Lisa, although they said she was there. After 40 MINUTES they said they would have Lisa call us tomorrow. WHY IS THIS SO DIFFICULT?

When I finally was able to track Lisa down (two additional days later) she was mildly apologetic. I asked her if the other bridesmaid who had given her card was charged and she assured me that she hadn't been. Lisa emailed me a form to fill out with my credit card information. When I tried to reply, the email bounced back and said I couldn't email to that address. AGAIN, WHY SO DIFFICULT TO MAKE A SIMPLE TRANSACTION?

I called back the next day, this has now been almost a week of trying to sort this out. I AGAIN ask her to make sure my other bridesmaid hasn't been charged. I give the girl's first and last name. Lisa assures me she hasn't. Lisa tries to get me to fill out the form and email it again, but I insist on just giving her the info by phone just to make sure nothing went wrong this time.

Lisa told me she'd send me and my sister receipts when the transaction was finished. She even asked for my sister's number so she could call and apologize. It's been over a week, the transaction went through but neither my sister or I EVER received a receipt. Lisa also never called my sister to apologize.

The absolute kicker is when I found out the bridesmaid who Lisa assured me MULTIPLE TIMES had not been charged, had been charged $400. I'm not even bothering to try to contact the Courtyard and reverse that charge. It will be simpler to just cut my friend a check. Again, the incompetence of this place is baffling.

Cute, comfortable rooms and sweet memories of getting ready for my wedding give...

It was our wedding weekend August 22nd, 2015. We booked the top floor bridal suite and another suite for the groom October 29th, 2014. We have emails to confirm this date. I personally called in January and April to check on the reservation and both times they stated they couldn't find it. We booked the night of August 21st and 22nd in the grooms suite. We booked the night of August 21st in the bridal suite and my mother booked the night of August 22nd (In January 2015) so we could use the room the full day to get ready in. We talked to the manager and about 3-4 staff by phone throughout the months of January to June before we got fed up and came personally to the hotel on July 22nd to confirm in person as to why there was so much confusion. The manager also saw how jumbled the reservation looked and made it right. I asked for a print out which is still in my records for proof. Day before our wedding/date of check in. We get a call at 9am in the morning stating the hotel double booked BOTH rooms and that we needed to move because the other folks were already in the rooms. They offered us the suite at the Residence Inn next door but this wasn't going to work as our photographers would have had to go back and forth between two hotels instead of only two floors to take photos. We chose a conjoining room for the groom and a 2nd floor suite for me, the bride. By the time we got into the suites, there was nothing we could do and we were very upset with how much chaos had gone into only 2 reservations. My mother returned from our wedding at 9:30pm the night of the 22nd. There were NO towels, the bed hadn't been made and the room had not been cleaned. To not inconvenience staff, she went down to the lobby in her robe to ask for towels. She slept in a dirty room and there was nothing hotel staff did about this. Check out time came for my mother, who had taken over the bridal suite the night of the 22nd. The hotel staff stated that her son-in-law's room was a disaster with furniture chipped and liquor everywhere. The bridal suite was ONLY slept in overnight by one person and the groom suite was only slept in overnight by one person. NOBODY stayed the evening of the 22nd in the groom suite. It was only booked an extra night due to the fact that we needed it for the groom party to to get ready in and take photos in. We have professional photos of the room they are saying was damaged the very minute it was left and NOT...

My stay was checking in on Sunday afternoon and check out was Tuesday morning. While the front counter personnel were all very polite and helpful; the maintenance and cleaning staff left a lot to be desired. Understanding that covid has changed a lot of cleaning procedures, it seems it should be more diligent not lackadaisical. Cleaning rooms upon request is understandably prudent however hallways and trash pick up shouldn’t be by request. While the cleaning personnel were down on the other end of the the same floor, I assumed the following were going to be picked fairly soon; there was an abundance of rooms’ small trash cans and fast food bags over flowing from several rooms sitting in the hall, flies hanging on the walls and hovering in the hallway and even though there is a no pets policy at this particular location, a guest apparently brought a large dog in during the night and it left fecal matter in the middle of the carpeted floor; a clear attempt to wipe it off failed. I reported it to the front desk immediately, they apologized and said they’d send someone up right away to take care of it, upon my return later that day, the trash was picked up but the dog’s spot was still there with no attempt to remove it. Truly unsanitary conditions. Room: While the bed was pretty comfortable, the small sofa had some stains on it and I didn’t sit on it because it looked from what I could tell; dirty. The room was very dark- even with every light on and blonds open. The room’s lighting is so dark, it was hard to even apply makeup. I applied make up in the room then had to correct it when I got to my rental car. The shower’s drain is extremely slow which made me have to rush a shower to 10 minutes before the water overflowed into the floor. Location: The location is pretty convenient however, the roosters from the very close rural neighborhood directly behind the hotel are loud all hours of the day and night were sounding their alarms. There are several dogs barking all hours of the night. At times it sounded like they were fighting. Parking: The front parking lot is seemingly safe; however, the back parking lot backs up and shares the lot with another hotel where there were several people loitering (maybe they live there full time) being very loud and sounded like a few were working on their cars right there in the parking lot. Very disappointing if this is the “best” Salinas...
