La Plaza Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in Salinas

I wish I could negative stars. To any one and every one considering eating here, please think about another mexican dining in salinas. Worst service I have ever had. I feel bad that the owner lost my business, my families business, and my works business. I dont have forever on my lunch breaks so when I eat here I call ahead. But when they tell you 25 min. Than you wait for that than they say it's not ready just a few minutes and they play games with your time to make you wait another 25 on top of that. Thatsbad. But even than they still need more time than the hour lunch I had and the 25 min heads up with a phone order. This was horrible and I should have learned my lesson. But it's my fault four giving them 5 chances. They will mess up your order. You will go home with the wrong food they wont compensate you with the right food. Honestly them doing it today made me write my first review on google so you know its bad.

Ojalá pudiera estrellas negativas. Para cualquiera que esté considerando comer aquí, piense en otra cena mexicana en salinas. El peor servicio que he tenido. Me siento mal porque el dueño perdió mi negocio, el negocio de mi familia y mi negocio de obras. No tengo para siempre en mis descansos para el almuerzo, así que cuando como aquí llamo con anticipación. Pero cuando te dicen 25 min. Luego de esperar eso, dicen que no está listo solo unos minutos y juegan con tu tiempo para hacerte esperar otros 25 más. Eso es malo. Pero aun así, todavía necesitan más tiempo que la hora del almuerzo que tuve y los 25 minutos se adelantan con un pedido por teléfono. Esto fue horrible y debería haber aprendido mi lección. Pero es mi culpa cuatro darles 5 oportunidades. Arruinarán su pedido. Te irás a casa con la comida equivocada, no te compensarán con la comida correcta. I have visited this place multiple times for many years. Today is the last time I come to this place. I have NEVER been treated that way i was treated today by the woman in the photo. Her name is Sandra and she claims to be the manager of this location. As I walked in with my boyfriend as usual, just to pick up our phone order, This woman by the name of Sandra discriminated my boyfriend for having Asthma and asked to wait outside since he didn’t have a mask nor can’t wear one because of his breathing problems. As he was calmly explaining to her the reason, she put her hands on her ears to cover and said “I’m not listing nor want to hear you” Absolutely Ridiculously rude. She also demanded that I should be the one to pay for the order for no reason!! when my boyfriend was trying to pay, she kept telling him “let her pay!”. I don’t understand how a manager could be so rude and tell this to a customer. We decided to wait outside to not make anyone uncomfortable and she called us to come and and pay for the order as I was paying I took the photo attached and she got furious asking me to leave and refused to help me. She said “I am not going to help you because I don’t want you to take photos. I have told her that I have the right to take photos for reviews and she began to yell at me saying she was not going to help me anymore and walked away. The strange part of this is that we were there 2 weeks ago and we were not wearing a mask and the woman didn’t say a thing until today. I read multiple bad comments about the same woman and I don’t understand how could the owner Tolerate this type of behavior from his manager. She clearly doesn’t know how to talk to people nor has any respect towards others. From my part I will never return to this place and will not recommend it. It is no worth the Bitterness And sourness you will receive from the employees...

I live only 4 blocks from the davis location bakery but refuse to buy here anymore. Staff is rude and careless. They are great at getting my order wrong even though I speak fluent spanish. I hate driving back to return their screwups. Cakes are dry. Save your money. The pastrys are ok but the ones from Sanborn or Bardin rd are softer, more fresh. The other bakerys have better customer service, better tasting food and faster waiting time. They are several miles away but i dont mind spending the gas because i appreciate their dedication and i am worth it. I prefer to shop where my hard earned dollars are valued. I stopped going to the davis rd bakery for awhile after the incident with the homeless person that came out in the local newspaper. i totally believe it happened. I personally witnessed a similar incident here with another homeless person. It is sad that the owners of La Plaza on Davis are heartless, encourage their employees to be rude and incompetent. Employees and management here need better training on customer service, taking food orders and baking bread. Their lazy attitude is probably why El Charrito on Market has customer lines that wrap around the building most days of the week.

I will say I like the meat or grilled shrimp tacos made w homemade corn tortillas from davis and usually order a burrito to gift to the homeless guy outside not allowed to enter their premises.

The owners may be haughty and feel entitled to pick n choose who enters their establishment BUT there is a god and he is watching. No one...
