First time at Big Z's. Had a bad feeling about it as soon as we walked in and ordered at "window". We identified as new customers and not familiar with the menu. As it turns out the young friendly girl taking our order was not familiar with the process either. The big clue that possibly this was not our type of place was when we sit down at our table to kids running wild in playing dodgeball in the hallway to the bathrooms. At one point an adult got up and videotaped all the kids having a great time. I guess what I didn't understand is why management did not ask the dodge ball game be moved to the to the backyard recreation area they have set up for such activities. My double meat burger had a nice size patties, but was dry has a bone. The dressed portion was WAY to small. Not enough lettuce, tomatoes or pickles. Mustard on table. Found packets of mayo. Ketchup was out on table empty. Despite employees walking around constantly we could not get their attention to ask for more. I finally just got up went to 3 different tables till I found more ketchup. If your going for burgers I suggest a pass on this place. If your looking for a Chuck-E-Cheese environment you will enjoy this atmosphere.

Update: I revisited on 2/22 and burger was cooked how I requested and absolutely delicious! Initial visit was on 2/6. Also, this review is in reference to the location near UTSA - the images show the near UTSA location but is pinned to the 151 location. Disappointing experience tonight – this has always been my go-to burger spot in town, known for consistently delivering juicy, perfectly cooked medium burgers. However, tonight, for the first time, my family and I were served well-done burgers despite specifically ordering medium. I was so hungry after work I just ate what was served and didn't feel it was worth the wait to have it exchanged honestly. Hoping this was just a one-time issue, but it's definitely changed my impression of this place. Additionally, I've noticed that the clean-up crew tends to be overly eager to take your tray while you're still eating. On previous visits, they've come around multiple times asking if they can take your tray, which quickly becomes annoying when you're still eating and trying to enjoy your meal with company.

I had wanted to check out The Well before but somehow never did. Today, while looking at the Restaurant Week participants, I was reminded of The Well again. We thought to check it out tonight for dinner and definitely was a great choice! For happy hour, they have the Deep Eddy and Jack Daniels for $4. I first got the Madras and my husband got the Jack and Coke. To stay on the healthier side, I ordered the Stuffed Portabella which came with a Mediterranean orzo salad. So good! My husband had the Market Fish which was a perfectly-cooked baramundi with lots of veggies. My husband ranks this along with other fine dining fish he's had. I got the Jalapeno creamed corn and sautéed vegetables. So much good food! I'm looking forward to bringing my Dad here to try the fish and chips. Unfortunately, we didn't have room to try the desserts. Next time, we'll need to make room. Great outdoor space for social distancing and live music to resume soon after football season. Must visit!

Horrible Food Horrible Service Clean environment though😀 This place was NOT selected by me for our gathering. For many years throughout my life I have worked in the food service industry. I have had my share of serving, bussing and bartending. It's not for everyone! After college I made a promise to myself I would not be those crazy ASS HOLES that come in and take it out on the staff! However, I still kept my cool and just sit back and watch how our server handled our party. (Sydney) our server was okay at first and seemed agitated by the decor that one of our guest put down for a surprise dinner. "In all honesty I completely agree, it was an unnecessary decor on behalf of our guest" As mentioned before, NOT MY CHOICE. We ordered our food" Loaded Brisket Baked potato." Whe we got our meal and started to eat it was the most BLANE FLAVORLESS Baked Potato I have ever eaten. I kept quite and waited to see if Sydney would stop by and ask how was everything. Unfortunately, she just kind of skimmed by. My friend then had this HUGE bowl of Cream Corn and offered me some. To no surprise, the cream corn from a can taste better. At this point I was still hungry but then I started to over think and said to myself, your just being dramatic. As I took a look at our group of 14 and looked at all the food that was ordered I noticed EVERY SINGLE PERSON took a few bits of their food and left the rest on the table. So I sat talking with all my friends and finally our server came and I politely said, Sydney, I use to serve for many years and I would like you to know this has nothing to do with you and your doing an amazing job. However, I didn't like my Baketed Potato. She said okay and took the baketed potato. Despite everything going wrong I still kept my cool and didn't make a seem and ask to speak with the manager. Soon after we had cake. The whole time Sydney never addressed the issue with this Baketed Potato and ask or suggest if I would like anything else. I still stayed quite. Soon after we finished out cake she brought out our checks. When she dropped off the check and took a look at it i was in shock that I was charged for this dam potato! Lmao! At this point I was so pissed I just paid the check. O and not to mention our bill needed to be adjusted because there were wrong items on our check. Look, servers have bad and good days. And in this day in time our world is going through some crazy stuff! And the last thing I want is to upset anyone if they are having a bad day! And being a server is a rough job! Hands down alot ot people would not be able to handle the shot the go through. Some of them work double shifts every day and still pick up shifts! They deal with inconsiderate, rude people on a daily basis. As a huge advocate and public figure of the community of San Antonio I choose to maintain my composure. I wish this place nothing but the best for there future business! Take care of your guest because you never know who you might run into. O, I gave 1 star because the Queso was...

Great comfort food, fun environment. We've been here several times with people from work. We've sat at the bar, in the dining room and out on the patio/yard area. Good live music. The fried okra is easily the best I've ever had at a restaurant. The pickled veggies are very vinegary, not bad, just make sure you really like vinegar flavored pickles if you're going to order them. They're very crisp and fresh tasting, though. I thought the chicken fried steak was good, maybe a 7ish out of 10, but on a different trip my husband said his was very gristly. The mac and cheese is fantastic with a great bread crumb top. The portions from the fixings section of the menu are not like a single a la carte side like I thought they would be, they're huge! So be aware of that. Now that the food is out of the way, the bartenders have always seemed to do a great job, the waitstaff, not so much. I don't know if they don't train very well or they can't keep people but our last two trips had pretty terrible waiters. Very nice, always polite, but horrible at their jobs. And because we had a large party there was an automatic 18% gratuity on out last trip. The waiter literally made 5+ trips into the kitchen for our checks. It took over 30 minutes just for him to get the checks straight and bring them to us. Then correct them and bring them out again. Another waitress actually brought our cards back out and explained that she would be helping. This is aside from the fact that it was a quiet weekday night with a nearly empty dining room and he rarely came back to check on us. I really like this place and will definitely go back but they need to work on...

Love the fact that there is now a big country dancehall in the I-10/UTSA Blvd. area. This place is exactly what the area needs for all the country and two-step lovers. Not to mention there are over 80+ beers on tap for the beer lovers, cool-sounding cocktails for the cocktail lovers, awesome food menu for the foodies, and live music Thursday-Sunday for the live music lovers. The place is huge and roomy. It can definitely fit a ton of people in the dining room and I love the fact that there are multiple places to sit like the lounge chairs in the bar area and along the railing on the outside patio and benches where the live music happens. It's also kid-friendly with a mini playground in the front and dog-friendly as well. I've yet to go during live music or when the dancehall comes alive on the weekends but I'm sure it's on point. The Angus Beef Burger and the King Ranch Chicken during lunch was awesome, seriously one of the best burgers I've ever had. I will definitely come back when the dancehall is open for some two-steppin' and/or when the live music happens on the weekends. If you're looking for a good country atmosphere to experience with friends or family, and dance, eat and drink then the Well is the...
