The Grill — Restaurant in San Antonio

Tried this place twice - not impressed at all. First time was for dinner, was told meal would take about an hour because only 1 cook. We decided to wait... they have a full bar - bartender has no clue about wine, asked for a merlot and was offered a chardonnay. An hour later our food came out, my steal was about a 1/4 inch think, over cooked extremely, was cold and tasted like gas. Potatoes cold as well. Before we even had all of our meals they wanted to bring us out a desert to say I'm sorry..waitress was very nice and good - it was her first night back in a yr and it was a Friday night.

Decided to try it for breakfast- buffet for $13 is essentially a continental breakfast (scramble eggs, bacon, potatoes, bread, oatmeal & fruit) that you can get for free at other hotels. On a positive note Kids do eat free.

Ordered a meal off the menu for my other kid...2 of us finished eating when waitress asked if I was ready for check, I responded yes and my meal to go... her reply "oh you wanted it to go?". 10 minutes later no check or meal to go. Breakfast coat $30 and no ice coffee...should have gone to McDonald's or had...

Came in for dinner June 17, 2023. Horrible margarita, even worse michelada and the food was a 3 on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being amazing.

The michelada, they use this very heavy tomato base that the bartender advised they use for their bloody Mary’s. Bartender stated that is how micheladas are made. It is one way, but not the main way, which most of the time consists of certain hot sauces.

The margarita was described as fresh squeezed lime juice on the menu, tasted like premixed lime juice they ordered and tasted very sugary.

Fried pickles were nothing special. Wife and I shared the salmon meal. The sauce on the salmon was good. Rice pilaf was horrible. The red skin mashed potatoes were… well just mashed potatoes.

Service was ok for what they had, 2 females working the floor and one male behind the bar. It wasn’t too busy though.

Pretty disappointed because most IHG hotels have pretty darn good food...

Located inside on a hotel. Was seated quickly and was attended to well by our server. Though I must apologize profusely to the staff as I entered this place literally 15 mins before closing and chose to dine in. I should have been more aware of the time before making my decision, yet I was still treated as if they had just opened. Mad respect for that, and again, I'm so sorry! Kept the order fast. Sweet tea and a burger and fries. The skinny fries were cool. The burger was ok. However, that bacon was preemo. Atmosphere was nice. Nothing crazy. Shout out to that staff for the treatment and respect. 8/10 will eat again and next time a little earlier into...
