If you are at all concerned about Covid precautious at this hotel don't stay there. It is very concerning that we found out late Friday, a week before our reservation that a member of our family had Covid and that we all had been exposed and needed to quarantine. Of course we, felt we shouldn't go to the funeral we were going to attend. So, I went onto Booking.com to request a cancellation 7 days in advance. Booking sent a request for the property to accept. When I called the property on Saturday to ask about the cancellation, they said only Booking. com could do it because I paid through them. I had to wait until Monday to call Booking. The Booking agent said what the property told me was not true, it was the only the property who could cancel. He went out of his way to help . He wrote a manual letter to the property asking them to cancel the reservation with the reason and even said that booking won't charge them any fees. The property denied it again saying, it wasn't done 7 days in advanced because I missed there window by a few hours. I tried to reason with supervisor, Monica, explaining this wasn't safe for anyone. She kept having to go back to inventory control and each time they deny it saying 7 days. It is now 4 days of back and forth when they could have sold the room to someone else. This property is an added not nightmare to having to burying our friend and dealing with Covid in the family. Now, we have to decide if we risk that the rest of us our OK to go to the hotel, just so we don't completely through away $500 dollars. I'm so mad, that I even have to think about this. Shame on you San Clemente Cover Resort for being willing to risk the health of your Guest for...

Read moreWe stayed at this Resort because we would always walk right by it when we walked to the San Clemente Pier. We stayed there for 1 week & it didn't disappoint. We got the 1 bedroom which was a little tight, but effective. The room had a full kitchen & nice dinning table to eat. We could also eat outside on the patio facing the ocean, but it was mostly cold as So Cal is experiencing some of the biggest storms in over 40 years. We did luck out though as it mostly rained at night & we only got a couple of days where it rained part of the day. Again, our beach front patio was spectacular overlooking the San Clemente pier. At night it was quiet with very comfortable Queen beds. There was a gas fireplace in the living room which took the edge off the cold when sitting on the comfortable couch watching TV at night. The shower had instant hot water & had some provided toiletries. The mirror in the living room made the unit look bigger. A very nice feature was gated underground parking which you almost never see. The guests get a garage gate opener which works for 2 separate garages. There is a 4 person spa on the top deck as well as a nice barbecue grille. We used it twice while getting some great steaks at Billy's Meats in downtown. Probably the most obvious thing was the absolute kindness of the staff. I have traveled in the US & abroad for over 50 years & have never met such a warming kind hearted staff. I'm trying to remember them all. Kim, Shannon, Linda, Monique. There is more, but I can't remember, but they were some wonderful Ladies. We definitely will go back. One of the relaxing vacation experiences we have had & they helped make...
