GREAT VIBE ! My wife and I were feeling very worn out from unpacking boxes all week at our new address up in the hills of San Clemente. GOTTA GET OUT ! On Saturday our first thought was to drive down here for lunch to grab great coffees and sandwiches. We parked our wheels outside around 2.30pm...got lucky I guess. A friendly cashier named Ava gave us a big welcome when we walked inside. GEE WHIZZ ! It's been over 12 months since we were last here on opening day...I was first to review ! Ava was very helpful when we asked about the lunch menu. We ordered 2 x Flat Whites with 2% milk, 1 x Turkey & Bacon Club ( ciabatta roll, dill mayo, turkey, bacon, avocado smash, tomatoes, arugula & pickled onions ) and 1 x Caprese Sandwich ( ciabatta roll, pesto, balsamic glaze, tomatoes, mozzarella & arugula ). A barista named Peyton knocked out our 2 great looking Flat Whites. And when I asked for some cocoa powder sprinkled on top Peyton quickly came to our rescue. SO DELICIOUS ! Now that we are finally living in beautiful San Clemente we have a fav local coffee shop. Our huge lunch sandwiches arrived within a few short minutes...Page the chef apologized for the short delay after diving out to fetch fresh ciabattas ( they ran out ). OMG ! Our well made fully loaded sandwiches tasted the best.....the soft pillowy fresh baked ciabattas knocked it clean outa the ballpark. FABULOUS SERVICE ! Ava, Peyton and Page made us feel right at home. BEST COFFEE IN...

A Coastal Coffee Gem with Exceptional Human Touch

Today, I found myself in the charming town of San Clemente for an appointment, and with a little time to spare, I ventured into what I now consider a true hidden gem — Bluestone Lane Coffee.

From the moment I stepped in, I was warmly greeted by Peyton and her colleague Karina (please forgive me if I’ve misspelled your name). These two incredible women didn’t just serve coffee — they elevated the entire experience. Gracious, kind, full of light, and wearing smiles that could brighten any gray day, they made me feel like I was right at home.

Though I initially ordered a beautifully balanced cappuccino and a bold black coffee to go, I casually asked about their pour over — a ritual I’ve grown to appreciate deeply over the years, especially after working with coffee farmers in Brasil for over a decade. I didn’t want to trouble them, but Peyton and Karina never made it feel like a burden. Their knowledge, warmth, and energy reminded me that great coffee is only part of what makes a shop special — it’s the people who make it unforgettable.

Peyton and Karina deserve more than just recognition — they deserve a raise, a promotion, and all the praise this world can offer. It’s people like them who remind us that kindness, service, and authenticity can make a lasting impact on someone’s day.

We stopped in for breakfast on a Friday morning and had a wonderful experience at Bluestone Lane, a fantastic spot in San Clemente. The staff immediately stood out as being incredibly friendly and accommodating, which always makes for a great start to any meal. The coffee was excellent. My cold brew was smooth and strong, and my wife really enjoyed her iced vanilla latte, saying it was perfectly made. For our food, my wife ordered the Brekkie Board and absolutely loved it. She said it was a highlight and particularly enjoyed the bright, delicious lemon curd that came with it. I chose the croissant with bacon, and the potato wedges that came on the side were a standout—perfectly crispy with a really good coating. The croissant itself was flaky and buttery, though I found the aioli a tad overpowering for my personal taste with the bacon. In hindsight, I wish I had gotten the ham version; I think the aioli would have shined and paired perfectly with it. The cafe has some good seating options, including a nice, albeit small, outdoor area which is great for enjoying the morning. Overall, we had a really positive experience. With great coffee, delicious food, and genuinely welcoming service, we will definitely be back. I know what I'll be...
