Pier Market — Local services in San Clemente

I went to this business with my 10 year old son to rent a surfboard. The reason why I had a terrible experience is because I was “basically” treated like trash bag or a criminal (per say) by someone who appeared to be either the owner or the general manager - this person was also mistreating the employees by ordering them around like if they were slaves or incapacitated individuals (these guys just take the abuse because they need the job obviously)

They gave me a board that had a broken leash and when I went back to return it I asked for a partial refund but instead this abusive manager or owner accused me of braking the leash because I didn’t come back to replace the board right after I rented it (I didn’t because of the hassle of walking 5 blocks back and forth) - When I asked him why was he treating me this way he simply replied:

“There is the door if you don’t like it” (in front of other customers)

In my 10 years living in the state of California I have never experienced such an ignorant and miserable human being like this guy behind a counter serving people - from judgement to racism I experienced everything in between - I believe this person should work at a prison abusing inmates which will fit his extreme sadness and awful existence in a more suitable way - as of now I will report this abuse to the state of California and also to the local authorities so they know who this person is in

case something bad happens in the future.

Sadly to say.... My autistic son was asked to leave the front of the store while I was inside shopping... He was neatly dressed and in a happy mood but I am assuming mistaken for some homeless person, shame... I had purchased our beach needs over several days along with souvenirs and other items. Again...

We stayed at a hotel nearby and they basically have everything you'd need. We needed stuff like beer, snacks, paper towels, souvenirs and a shovel to dig a hole. They had it all included much more like fishing gear and rentals. Was very convenient...
