The people there (staff and guests) are criminals, drug addicts and drunkards. It's clear there are drug deals going on there and drug addicts go there who aren't staying at the hotel because of this, making it a dangerous area. The room was not clean, the shower had a huge black hairball in it, the sink was not clean, the fridge was not clean and was sticky, the microwave had obviously been used and not cleaned recently. The shower floor was slanted at an angle so steep I would slide down it while taking a shower, it was easy to fall in there. The towels had stains and were always wet, like they had never been dried, at least. It was noisy during the day and night. There were several mistakes made by Linda, a woman who works in the office. There were mistakes with the deposit, and the date of checkout. The manager told me she had been making these mistakes a lot lately. I was accused of not paying for a night and upon looking into it, he explained to me the mistake Linda made and apologized for it. His apology did seem sincere though. Every single night some serious criminal activity happened there where the police had to come and settle it. Attempted homicide via arson (someone forced their way into someone's room, stole money, and then burned the room down), another night someone broke the windows in their hotel room, another night someone staying there used a car to commit a crime and when the cops asked the owner who's car it was he didn't want to say, but then broke down and told them who it was. A drunk woman staying there screamed at me and Linda was actually there and took her side because they are friends, even though the woman was screaming and approaching me. The drunk woman stole two bags of groceries from me, which I'm sure are in her fridge right now. I was terrified and had to get the cops, who were there already for something else. It was...
Read moreI am very cautious when leaving negative reviews. I run a service business so I understand the importance of a review. I tend to give a second chance before writing a negative review. Anyone can have a bad day. A month ago or so I booked a room at the seahorse resort in San Clemente. I’d be going with my soon to be 17 year old son. We decided to take a trip before he starts his senior year in high school. Anyway we decided to add a day and night to our trip and the seahorse was all booked for that night. So my wife found this place, On short notice and for only one night. We called as we rolled into town from Arizona hoping we could check in early and head to the beach for the day. the rooms would not be ready. We were told they were short on staff. I said I understand and said no problem. She told us to come back by 3:00. So we went to he beach and came back at ten after three. The room wasn’t ready. The lady at the front desk was nice and said we could put our expensive mountain bikes in the uncleaned room. I thought that was nice. We would go to the store and come back at 4:00 and the room would be ready. We came back at 4:00 the room was still not ready. She told me the check in time is from 3-9 based on availability! I never heard hat before in by 50 years of traveling. Anyway by 5:00 the room was ready. They switched the room because the one they were gonna give us did not have air conditioning. I booked a room with ac purposely. That all got worked out. I took a shower after dinner to find a clump of long hair in my towel. Needless to say I will never stay hear again. Nice lady but this place need help in management and...
Read moreBy looking at the reviews before I booked a two night stay I notice a lot of negative reviews. I went ahead and booked because I read that improvements had been made. Despite lack of some creature comforts my stay was great! Although I think the hotel should look into a vending and ice machine, you need to pack your hair dryer and for sure your toiletries and make sure you have some facial tissue with you as well. If you like coffee in the morning in your room you'll need to pack that and a mug and if you use cream and/or sugar bring that as well! They do provide a mini coffee maker. The room does come with hand soap, colored towels and sheets, a mini fridge, microwave and a large LG tv. No pool and no sunbathing since they don't have lounge chairs but they do have grills, a few small tables and a large outdoor dinning table. They do have a lovely outdoor couch (no fire feature) and romantic lights are hanging over the patio. The beach is close and although it is "walkable" (15 minute walk) I would suggest driving to the beach. Plenty of places to eat and Starbucks is close by. Set in a neighborhood off the main street it is quiet. Beds are comfy but I would suggest bringing some pillows if you like full fluffy ones. All in all each room is different and you can get anything from a small apartment to just a room with bath. The décor is a cross between 70s and 80s with a beachy cottage vibe. Staff was wonderful! My two days staycation was quite and relaxing and I got some R and R. The hotel is priced pretty well for all it offers and parking is limited but there is a lot of street...
