This hotel is one of, if not the most unprofessional, disrespectful places I've ever been too. An employee named Ann called me we had a phone interview and after having a good interview she asked me to come in for an in person interview. Mind you I live in warm springs taking BART to SF and back is around $15.00 round trip upon arriving for my interview (Ann) had the nerve to say to me she doesn't have time to talk " I'll call you " she said. I have 2 daughters nd yes $15.00 may not sound like to much money to most working citizens but when you have a fiance nd 2 babies to feed clothes etc. I have never felt so disrespected, belittled, and experienced such an unprofessional establishment, as well as Ann and the nerve she had to without allowing me to have our interview, after saying on the phone what a "perfect person" I sound like for the job. I wouldn't reccomend this place to anyone under any circumstance. Ann in 2 seconds looked at me and being the ignorant judgemental lady she came off as, there is no other reason she would have done what she did if she wasn't. She lost out on an outstanding, smart, and hard working employee. The inn at union square was probably the worst experience I've ever had not to mention I missed my daughters little league game for the interview and just feel the public should know how that place treated someone simply looking to work hard and support his family. I don't want anything but for people to know where they are staying is employing disrespectful, ignorant, unprofessional people who from what I saw while waiting to speak to Ann and that happening don't care at all for the customer they just wanna fill rooms at what ever means...
Read moreThis is a very cute little hotel with an old-timey feel to it. Every floor has a lounge with coffee, tea, and cookies readily available. The location is hard to beat, especially for the price.
The best thing about this hotel is also, in some ways, the worst thing about it, too. Its architecture is reminiscent of the earlier parts of the 20th century, with smaller individual rooms and hallways that have character to them. That's great if you're staying for the ambience, but it's a nightmare in terms of accessibility. The hallways are very narrow by modern standards--I think many wheelchair users would find them difficult to navigate. The shower in our room was lovely, aesthetically speaking, but it had no handlebars or railing to grip if you need it.
Maybe there are rooms that are listed explicitly for accessibility; since I'm not wheelchair bound yet, I didn't check, but I was feeling very uneasy trying to shower and shave with nothing to hold onto. I have a shower stool at home... if you're trying to use this review as a metric for whether you're too disabled for this hotel: I managed alright with my arthritis, but I haven't needed to use a cane or crutches for it yet.
Like I said, I did really enjoy my visit here, and I will absolutely be recommending it to my non-disabled friends. But if you are disabled, do more research than I did before planning...
Read moreGetting from SFO international airport to hotel via train to Powell Street Station and the hotel is just about a 10-minute walk from the station. ||We arrived at slightly after 3pm but the check in time is 4pm. There is a small desk with laptop where the service staff process the check in. The lady helping us with the check in is friendly and told us that as soo as the room is ready she will give us the access cards to the room. We managed to get a room around 340pm. ||We were given a nice room on the second floor. Comfortable bed with side tables, clean bathroom, reasonable size wardrobe, a small table with 2 chairs, 2 TVs, a cabinet and 2 windows which allow us to open during the night to get nice cool air. Very happy with the size and layout. Housekeeping does a good job cleaning the rooms each day.||The hotel provides simple breakfast on the second floor and has a microwave and ice dispensing machine on the third floor. Serves the need especially when we do takeaways to the hotel. ||Location wise it is within Union Square and has lots of eateries nearby. The unfortunate thing is that we saw that many shops within Union Square are empty and closed unlike the scene we saw years ago before COVID. Nonetheless there are still many convenient stores and food outlets and Chinatown is within walking distance. ||Overall a very comfortable stay...
