Me and my friend from school slid into Golden Gate Tap Room not really knowing what to expect, and it ended up being one of the best spots we hit in SF. The vibe is super chill—kinda loungey, kinda bar—but the energy was just right. Music was strictly hip hop, R&B, rap… like, if you’re in your 20s or early 30s, this is your crowd. No weird energy, just people vibing. Now let’s talk about Francisco. He was holding it down the entire night. Helped us start a tab easy, didn’t rush us, super professional but still cool and friendly. We had like 8 shots and 3 beers, and the bill was around $120 USD… in San Francisco. That alone deserves a round of applause. This place is giving real value, not tourist trap energy. There’s also so much to do in there; ski ball, foosball, pool, arcade games with tokens. It’s the kind of place you could pre-game at or even just post up all night and be good. As someone from the 🏳️‍🌈 community, I gotta say I felt totally comfortable here. Sometimes going out in new cities can feel iffy, but this place felt safe and welcoming. Francisco especially made sure of that. He even gave us suggestions on where to head after they closed. Like, who does that? He really went above and beyond. Honestly if he’s not the manager already, he should be. You can tell he keeps everything flowing. Overall, this spot is such a vibe. Drinks are affordable, people are social, music is fire, and the service? Top tier. Whether you’re out with friends or flying solo, you’ll feel at home here. I’m definitely coming back next time I’m in SF. p.s sorry for having such a good time that i broke your glass 😅

Located close to union square, the golden gate tap room is an amazing place where to spend quality time having some drinks with your friends or enjoying watching one of the match in the huge screens. Lot of arcade games, pool there are not any possibility to get bored meanwhile you are having a lovely pint. The food menu has a variety of choices according to your starving rate. The service it was so nice everybody is so welcoming and kind. They were so attentative checking if we were need it something else but without being on top all the time. Having some drinks meanwhile playing pool just asking to refill the glass. Nothing else to ask feeling like being in my local bar. I went with some friends to san francisco for a couples of days and I recommend to stop there if you want to relax and have fun meanwhile you are enjoying your stay and friends. Finding something negative to say it can be it has lot of stairs, but a lot, the walls are decorated with posters makkng the climbing easier, to reach the first floor and maybe the drinks are spensive but taking in consideration how expensive the drinks are in San francisco, what are you paying average nothing that can surprised with.

I'm in San Francisco for Dreamforce and I stopped by Golden Gate Tap Room on my last night after everyone else in my party flew back home. All I wanted to do was unwind with my phone, a few beers, and some good food, and that's exactly what I got. I was lucky enough to grab the end bar stool next to an outlet so I wouldn't run out of juice. The bouncer checking IDs and all the bartenders were as nice as can be and I felt completely at home despite knowing nobody. There is also an area at the bar designated for ordering, so people aren't squeezing around each other to get a drink. The beers were all great and a good deal considering all the drafts are 16oz pints and not tulips, even the high ABV ones. The dollar off drafts during happy hour was a nice bonus. The fried chicken sandwich was solid as well. There are also some games lining the walls like Skee Ball, Pop-A-Shot, and Marvel vs. Capcom, among others. If I'm fortunate enough to be out west again I'll definitely stop in and recommend it to whoever I'm with. Just get there before 5 if you're there for Dreamforce. There was a line out the door by the time I left.

My sister and I took a vacation to San Francisco, and we were staying about 2 blocks from The Golden Gate Tap Room, so it was convenient since we didn't know our way around. They have security at the entrance, which made us feel a bit safe. At first, we just went in for some beers. By the way, the bartender was extremely nice and patient. We explained the type of beer we liked, and he suggested the Golden Gate Blonde Ale. I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is great. It's a place where you can have a really good time without worrying about disrupting customers. I played on the pinball machine, which I hadn't done in years. On another night, we went in for dinner. I had the popcorn shrimp, and my sister had the fish and chips. Both tasted fresh from the sea. We were visiting from Texas, so we knew right away how fresh it tasted. It was delicious. The bartender remembered us and remembered what beer we liked. We couldn't remember the name of it. I really recommend this place after walking all those hilly streets in San Francisco. It is a great place to rest your feet and enjoy a few beers. The only complaint I have is that if the customer doesn't order food, the waiter won't take your order at your table. You have to...

Absolutely horrible experience dealing with the staff of this bar.

Went there on superbowl Sunday and ordered from a “game day specials” sign which was situated right above our table. After ordering 5 or 6 items from the menu, it was removed without notice. When I queried the staff they said the deals were not being served today. I then asked if we would be charged extra and they said yes, there was nothing they could do. We were not offered any form of refund or comp.

In addition, my friend was asked to leave a credit card with bar staff as we had a large group of 8 and would be staying all day. When it came time to pay the bill, my friend had already left because he’d had a few too many bud lights and I went to go retrieve his card. They said they couldn’t give it to me because I wasn’t him. And in any case, they didn’t have it at all.

The bartender walked away and would not help me. I came back two hours later with the friend in question and they could still not find the card. No offer of sorry or compensation. We were a group travelling from Australia and leaving the next day, therefore no chance to seek other recourse.

Absolutely terrible experience in customer service... and they expect large tips in...
