Fantastic original cocktails with inventive ingredients and interesting presentation. I have always enjoyed my drinks at PCH. But customer service is awful, and the venue is too small.
Two major problems: 1 - It's too small and crowded. This is partly due to popularity, but also due to a really small venue with bad layout. The bar is right in the front, and most of the seating is in the back, so there's a chokepoint - it's very hard to get past the bar to the back. They also don't have near enough seating, and have wasted a lot of space with hallways that can't really be used to stand.
2 - They rush you out. I was there on a date recently and they rushed us out after our second drink. We arrived at 8:15 on Friday and got our first drinks around 8:30. We ordered a second round of drinks around 9-9:15. Around 9:45 as we were finishing those drinks, the server asked if we wanted another and we said "we're good right now." We didn't necessarily mean we were done, just taking a break. The server brought us the check. We let it sit there, since we weren't ready to go and might even want another drink. About 5-10 minutes later, the server came to ask us to pay so he could give the seat to another group. WTF? I said we were still chatting and might drink more, to give us a bit. 5 minutes later, another person, presumably a manager, came to ask us to leave. Seriously? We spent $70 on four drinks and they kicked us out less than 15 minutes after we finished the last drink.
I understand that a busy bar doesn't want people hanging around for a long time if they aren't drinking, but this was something else - they literally asked us to leave as soon as we finished our drinks and passed on the next round. I couldn't believe it, especially from one of my favorite...
Read moreCame here for drinks with some colleagues! It's honestly a great venue for friends gathering or work event. They do not take reservations - maybe for private events they do, but the place was big enough to accommodate walk-ins on weekday nights. They have outdoor seating as well as indoors - we chose the outdoor seating at the time cause we wanted some fresh air (beware though, it got pretty chilly later in the night but we were not offered a seat inside so that was the slight downside).
Service was good - the waiter was attentive and provided good recommendations, while also not too aggressively checking in with us - which helped us keep our conversations going.
In terms of drinks, we ordered two rounds of drinks, and the most recommended drink would be the Pornstar Martini (Reyka Vodka, passionfruit, vanilla, citrus, sparkline wine) - it was great presentation and super delicious - citrusy and sweet. The second recommendation would be the All Thai’d up (El Jolgorio Tepeztate, rum, lime leaf, coconut, tom yum, citrus, thai chili) - don't get scared off by the name, the tom yum taste is very slight, so it's a super unique and interesting drink that's very tasty. Last recommendation is the Golden Opportunity (Sherry, blanc vermouth, golden sesame, macadamia nut, cointreau, cacao) - this drink has a very interesting before, during, and after taste - very nutty finish, definitely recommend if you like sherry!

Read moreP.C.H. was enticing immediately from the street, with a small outdoor courtyard and cute sign and entryway. We were impressed right away by the friendless of all the employees, who were extremely inviting and made us feel welcome from the start.
The menu is super creative and interesting, with a lot of the drinks containing Asian ingredients or flavors. I also love bars that arrange their cocktail menus by the liquor, showcasing their variety and making it easier pick out drinks by their flavor profiles.
I started with the All Thai'd Up, while my partner got The Don. The Don tasted incredibly complex, with the flavors of fig and pandan, slowly washing over the palette and giving way to the smooth pecan finish. The All Thai'd Up had a nice smokiness from the mescal that gave way nicely to the savory tom yum and chili flavors.
For our second round, my partner got the Turn Down for Nut while I got the Miso Old Fashioned. As lovers of coffee cocktails, we found the Turn Down for Nut extremely delicious, with the black sesame honey providing a nice complex flavor that paired beautifully with the rum and cold brew coffee flavors. We also both loved the Miso Old Fashioned which was simpler than most of the other cocktails we ordered, but tasted fantastic with the miso-butter pairing nicely with the rum and bitters.
Given the extensiveness of the menu and friendliness of the service, we will absolutely...
