Is what you would expect for a upscale 3-star hotel with very nice amenities. The breakfast is what you would expect, pancakes, biscuits, cereal, milk, orange juice, water, coffee, ect. Personally I like having some more grab and go stuff but I'm also probably not the hotels target audience, I'm here for work on a extended stay and I leave quickly early in the morning. The office staff has been great, I always have issues with keys at certain hotels (I think it's due to magnets in my wallet) and I had to bother Jenny a few times and she made the experience smooth. Check-in was quick and easy, even gave me a better room connected to the patio. They have a small business center where you can print some stuff out without any issues. That brings me to the patio, it doesn't make sense why people can't smoke out there, it essentially made the patio useless for me. Everyone who wanted to smoke cigarettes had to take a hike by the dumpsters where you had to deal with street traffic who beg for stuff from you. From my research it has nothing to do with the actual hotels policy but California government (specifically Santa Clara County) being like California so I can't blame the hotel for that. The patio looks like a great place for a birthday party or large get together, you would have the entire patio as no one really uses it and it's a very large private area in the back of the hotel. The room is nice, had a comfortable bed and a large tv (they don't look hd and the quality is quite bad). The wifi was easy to connect devices to and is fast. You have a mini fridge, coffee maker and a microwave within the room. They use order inn for room service and the soda machine in the hallway is a decent price at $1 a can. The bathroom has a jacuzzi bath with plenty of room around the tub. Overall everything looks a bit outdated but it has amenities that make up for it. Would be great for couples looking for a romantic place to stay.

The hotel is rather dated but it has a certain charm to it. The interior such as the lobby, hallways and rooms are decorated in a victorian-esque styling. Even the paintings, scuptures, and statues fit the theme. Rate was a bit more than the going rate. It is located very near the 17.short walking distance from a Starbucks, next door to a Weinerschnitzel, Fosters Freeze and a Shell petrol station. The room was clean, had a coffee maker, small fridge. TV was rather small but close enough to the bed to make up for the size. WiFi was not as fast as I was hoping, but sufficient for my needs. Breakfast was included but not fantastical. Waffle maker, cold cereal, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, biscuit, orange juice, apple juice, and milk. Coffee and tea available 24/7.

I put 5 stars for the price! We just stayed one night and it was good for the price! The breakfast is 0/10 BUT you have a Starbucks literally across the street. Also 3 minutes to mc Donals! The bathroom was clean, and the room was average. The drive to Santa Cruz is 30 minutes and this hotel is close to Downtown Los Gatos 10 minutes. The Lobby was so clean and good looking

Hotel was located right off the Highway 17, I stayed there couple of times over the past few years, My past experience with the hotel was pretty good I must say but from last year or two, I’ve noticed the decline in service at all levels, During my last stay I went to the front desk to collect the room keys and finds out there was no one present at the Front desk, i waited good 5-6 minutes before a girl stepped in, she isn’t welcoming at all, she just checked me in and handed me the room key, I collected the key and walked away just to find that key isn’t working, I came all the way back from second floor to front desk to get the new key, I told her this key didn’t worked, she replaced the key and guess what? It didn’t worked again, second time I called her at front desk from my cell phone and requested her to help me get inside the room, so she came upstairs and tried to open the door with her key but nothing, she ended up changing my room and finally it works. In the morning, I went downstairs for breakfast and it was horrible, it can’t be more worse, In the name of breakfast they served some rotten breads and a juice sitting in the jars which stinks, juice had a strong smell. I tried to grab some cereals but then there was no milk, I asked the lady serving the breakfast can I get some milk and she replied we are out of milk. I went to the front desk and asked for the manager, he told me to come back around 10 am. I told him I knew the manager, I am coming here for 10-12 years and he stays at the property, He was a Asian guy, a very nice fella But the guy at front desk informed me that he isn’t here anymore, he informed me there is a Hispanic guy who supervise this place now and he didn’t stays at property and comes here once in a while. He told me to come back later after 10 am. I went back around 11 am and told the girl at front desk that I want to see the manager, she seems pretty confused about what to say, she said he isn’t here yet and I don’t know if he gonna be here today or not. I was like what you mean, you work here and you don’t which time your manager will be here? she tried calling him in front of me but then told me he isn’t replying. I stayed there 3 nights, they were out of the milk, nothing improved with breakfast and I didn’t get hold of manager either, he didn’t even showed up at property for 3 days I stayed there which pretty much explains the stuff going on in the hotel, The rooms were not properly cleaned, found the hairs on pillow, bed sheets were dirty, there were bugs everywhere, Elevator sucks, basically nothing was in order, nothing was same as it used to be couple of years ago. Hotel is basically in early stages of decline and if continued going down the same path with same pace, It will be out of...

Found this hotel when we were looking for areas to stay near Santa Cruz. Check in went fine, got to our room which was nice, dated, but nice. The towels were very small and thin. One had what looked like might have been a stain or not a thorough cleaning. At 4am the smoke detector started randomly chirping. Totally understand how batteries can lose their energy at inopportune times. That morning, at 7:00am, we went to the front desk before leaving the hotel for the day and let them know about the battery and that we needed more clean towels. We returned to the hotel around 9pm and went from the parking area directly to our room. We did not have fresh towels and I called the front desk to be told if we wanted clean towels to come to the front desk, they had all day to get clean towels to our room. At 4am the smoke detector starting chirping again. When we went to the front desk at around 7 that morning, we were told that housekeeping went home early the prior day so the battery didn't get changed. I was very annoyed as we now were woken up two mornings in a row at a very ungodly hour. I asked about compensation for this and was told I would need to call the next day and speak with the manager, Teresa. I called the next day and spoke with Teresa. She sais she would talk to her general manager and see what they could do and would call me back. I waiting 24 hours and still didn't hear from Teresa so I called back. She told me her general manager had approved a $20 refund. I told her I was insulted at that. This was a 2 night stay and we were awoken both mornings by the smoke detector. I told her I would be writing a review of our stay. About 10 minutes later she called back to tell me it was $20 per night refund. This was better but still not compensation for this. They could have let us know they didn't change the battery and moved us to another room. Teresa even acknowledged there were several vacancies and we should have been moved. Very disappointed in the...

What an awful experience coming down from the Wildfire area in Lake County I had previously made room reservations but did not write down the reservation number as I talk to the front desk when I got there they did not have a reservation and I said I talk to somebody named Chuck he was the person I talked to but he said he didn't have my reservation so instead of charging me the $106 rate they tried to charge me $149 rate but gave me room 218 for after being in the room for a while lamps did not work and there was no ice anywhere in the hotel they said it's been broken down since last week I asked him why you don't have somebody go pick up some ice he said there was nobody to pick up ice he was the only one there come to find out the next day that ice was delivered around 5:30 and nobody was told also the AC in a room would not work even though the maintenance guy came in to try to fix it then of course to try to watch TV the TV would not come on either nobody could fix that very upset the next day I got a call at 8 in the morning waking me up asking me why there's a dog in my room I told them that I had told Chuck last night that the dog was a service dog I showed him his badge and identification and I didn't appreciate being woke up in the morning after that mess I go down to get some breakfast of course there's no ice for any of the beverages there warm as I talk to the attendant that was there that morning I just feel really ripped off not that I only could not watch TV be cool in the room or have lamps and plug that actually worked somebody overheard me in the lobby and said they were having problems with their room also lamps were working out let's weren't working as it was just a mess I never had this problem with the Carlyle Hotel before but I definitely went to a different Hotel the next day I hope they call me for a full refund but I doubt it I'll probably have to go through my credit card company to get my money back for the...
