STAY AWAY! THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING!!!!!
I came to SB for a job interview and since the area is so nice, hotels/motels are quite expensive. I chose Oasis because the reviews were decent and the price was OK. I arrived and the lady that was working behind the counter was very nice. I got my room key and unloaded all my stuff into my room. Right after that, I realized how filthy my room was. The first thing that I noticed was gum that was stuck to my blanket. There was makeup and snot stains on all my pillows. There was long brown hair in between the bed cover and the sheets. There was also gunk on the floor. In between the fridge and the shelf it sat on, there was heavy dust and spider webs. I went to the front desk and told them that I was going to need a new room. Immediately, that lady that was so nice at the beginning, became very rude. She asked me what was wrong and I told her that my room was filthy and I even brought the worst pillow in to show her so she knew I wasn't just complaining over nothing. She told me that they couldn't really do anything because I checked in an hour ago. REALLY?!? You think in 1 hour, I decided to grow long brown hair, play around with makeup, and rub snot all over the room?! First of all, I'm a man that's by himself so obviously the long brown hair and makeup wasn't me. And WHAT BENEFIT would it serve me to make my room dirty!?! Yeah I totally want to pick up all my stuff that I just unloaded, pack it up, and move to another room! YOU GOT ME! So the lady behind the counter comes to my room because she wants me to show her everything going on in my room. She pretty much tried to dismiss all my complaints. I told her that since they wouldn't give me a different room, I wanted them to void the charges on the credit card and that I was going to stay somewhere else. She said that I could do that. She goes outside to call her manager to let her know what was going on, then barges right back in the room (still technically mine at the moment so a knock would have been nice) and says, "So.... how fast do you think you can be out of here?" EXCUSE ME?! I'M SORRY, AM I INCONVENIENCING YOU BY NOT WANTING A FILTHY ROOM?! She basically told me that she needed me to leave within the next couple minutes because their maid was about to go home for the day and since my room was filthy, I was requiring her to stay later than she needed to in order to clean the room. MAYBE if she cleaned it properly the FIRST TIME, we wouldn't have this problem??! About 2 minutes later, the maid knocks on the door and I open it up. She barges right in (while my hands are full of all my stuff because I'm trying to get out of there). She grabs the chair in the room and places it RIGHT IN THE DOORWAY to keep the door open and apparently doesn't care that it COMPLETELY impeded me from leaving the building.

Read moreThe decor and relative appearance is quaint and homey and bears the wear and tear of such a homey place. The entire room was impressively clean and everything is neat and tidy. The employees that I've encountered are very pleasant and easy to talk to. The man I talked to at reception, Daniel, was very helpful. He gave us precise, concise directions to not only our room, but also to our destination the next day. We did not eat the breakfast, but it was complimentary in the morning with our room deal which I appreciated. Appearance: 3.5/5 Staff: 4.5/5 Cleanliness: 6/5 Organization: 4/5 The TV channel selection is wonderful and the TVs are nice and clear and the sound is rather excellent for TV speakers. Great A/C. The shower would've been a perfect score if the water pressure was stronger, though that's only an opinion and not conducive of other's satisfaction. However, the shower head has a few different options (the stronger option was, unfortunately, too strong and streamlined for me, but only for me. Like everything else, very clean, neatly kept. Nice little toiletries. The room we got came with a hairdryer. It also had an iron, ironing board, a microwave, a fridge, and a coffee maker with accessories for making your own. It's surrounded, and I mean completely surrounded, by restaurants and stores. Just ten minutes away is a shopping strip. Don't get too excited, though, parking is a pain as is to be expected. The parking won't empty your wallet, though, should you find a good place. -- Google said "as much detail as possible" about everything, including location. I could've put more but my sarcasm only...

If you've extensively looked for budget-friendly hotels and still can't seem to find a decent rate, and this one somehow seems affordable, then by all means, book it. But at an egregious 100.00USD+ a night, even a Best Western has more to offer.
To begin, the online gallery makes this property appear promising. A little dated, but doable. Upon reaching the destination, however, the world of filters and strategic photographs fades, and you're left with what actually exists in reality:
Upon check-in, an older gentleman of Asian descent made sure to remind me of the property rules over and over: "You have an overnight guest, I will charge you 100.00... you smoke in the room, I will charge you 100.00... you don't check out by 11:00am with both keys, (you guessed it) I will charge you 100.00..."
Needless to say, I hoped for the best after this encounter. But all was not well upon entering the room. I have to preface this by saying that my stay was only for one night, but I still paid 143.00USD by the end of it, so let me be clear here:
DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE UNLESS IT IS A LAST RESORT.
If the photos of my double-queen room are not convincing enough, let me tell you that the mattresses (if we can even call them that) are sure to give you a sore back-- and that's coming from someone who finds sleeping on the floor comfortable!
There must be a dozen hotels that offer the same rate with way better accommodations. I was, unfortunately, not in charge of...
