I usually stay next door at Motel 6 in a pinch such as tonight. Tire needs to be looked at in the morning. I was very hesitant to stay but it's so close to Firestone which I need in the morning.
The room is really nice. The bathroom is clean and it has a long sink bar to hold all your incidentals. I chose the king size bed room and I am very satisfied at the cuteness it has with a copper colored accent wall and subdued lighting. You get organic coffee in a Keurig and complimentary organic bath items. The shower is just that; only a shower and no chance to take a bath. The room has a 6 drawer chest of drawers with a cabinet. The desk and end tables are a set. The bed sits high on a box but I am short so for me it's a little effort to get on. The Phillips TV is big with Cox local service. There's no way to insert your fire stick to watch your own service.
You will be in walking distance to USPS, Gelson's, McDonald's, Chaucer's book store, Denny's and so much more! You will have three shopping centers including Ross, Smart & Final, Target and CVS Pharmacy. You will have Arco and Mobile gas stations within a few blocks and two car wash services.
You will have the option for two access points to the freeway: Head to Las Positas or La Cumbre and turn towards the ocean to head South for downtown Santa Barbara. Head north on State Street to access the north entrance as the easiest and fastest to go to Goleta, UC Santa Barbara or out to Lompoc and Santa Maria.
State Street in this area is extremely busy during the day and you must adhere to the speed limit for many are on bicycles, buses run through and there are a lot of entrance and exits...
Read moreIf you want to rest and are a light sleeper, simply avoid this place. I made an advance reservation through the Agoda app, I requested that the room be quiet and with a large bed. However, the first room they gave us was on the first floor, facing the elevator, next to the reception and exit, how could there be a quiet room? Even with advance booking, this was the “only” room available. After a lot of insistence from my boyfriend to the management, we managed to change from this first one to another one where the bed would be smaller but supposedly it would be quiet. Was NOT. They placed us next to the staff room, on the first morning we were woken up by conversations between the staff (including the manager) in front of our window, talking loudly and not caring about the guests. On our second night a big family with children and babies arrived and guess where we were? Right in the middle of them. They arrived, had a party, left the room doors open and it was already late at night when my boyfriend tried to ask very kindly for them to at least close the doors and they said “I'm not going, it's hot, it's a hotel”… exactly, this was supposed to be a hotel not your home. I don't even need to describe what our second and last morning was like, we simply didn't sleep. And yes, we only stayed two nights, in the two nights we were just trying to rest. Besides that, the acoustics in the rooms are terrible, you can hear everything the other room does. And the icing on the cake? The “breakfast” is...
Read moreThey have a very nicely heated pool and jacuzzi area just off the Main Street and beside the work out room and downstairs from the Breakfast room . The breakfast has container oatmeal choice of apple cinnamon or maple syrup add hot water and a sweetened hot cereal . Plenty of hot coffee selection of teas just add hot water and smallish bagels and toasters for bread and bagels . The room has around 6-8 round tables with up to 4 chairs per table . I went early and was by myself but went back to fill my coffee carafe and it was pretty busy with eight people standing and all chairs taken . A nice lady let me sit and drink some hot coffee and she was waiting for her teenage daughter many people asked for her extra chair . So go early 6:30 -7:30 you will be alone - but wait until 9:00-10:30 and you will have to wait to sit . The air conditioner / heater was noisy but provided a little white noise as the workers wheel around cleaning . The front office was nicely decorated with a glorious Christmas Tree with festive decorations . Overall great one night stay - I liked the closeness to the United States Post Office ; unfortunately they are only opened from 10:00’am to 12:00 pm there is a nicely organized barber shop where I got my bangs trimmed for like $5 and than since I was to be camping at local Chumash Reservation and Cali State Parks camping I paid extra to have him wash and conditioner on my extremely thick and long hair . I think for one night you...
