We choose this hotel because of the good reviews, I'm not sure why it is rated so highly. We booked a pet friendly room, the rate was higher for a pet friendly room, we assumed that included the pet fee, but it did not. In addition to paying a higher rate we also had to pay a pet fee, had we known this we would have stayed elsewhere - this hotel is a bit pricey for what it is. The room was not cleaned well, there was some black stuff on the floor, maybe permanent marker, not sure. Our socks were black from walking on the floor, and our dog was sniffing everywhere (as if a dog had marked) - fortunately we travel with dog diapers to avoid such accidents. The refrigerator/freezer was a mess, the freezer was covered in ice and inside were 2 wrapped packages, have no idea what they were, but we left them - God only knows how long it will take for them to be found. I could be wrong but I believe the shampoo was leftover from a previous visit, there was little to no shampoo left in the small container, barely enough for 1 person, but plenty of conditioner and lotion, so.... The walls were paper thin we could hear a cat meowing (assuming in the next room) as if it were outside our door. The room was hot when we arrived, while that was nice when entering we turned down the temp in order to sleep, but the room remained too warm all night, so was not a good nights sleep. I will agree with other reviews the big perk is parking right outside your door - convenient to take the dog out, convenient for loading and unloading the car. Other negative was the dog poop that someone left in the dog relief area, it's a small area so it's hard to miss, but when it's dark out I'd hate to step in it, or our dog get disease from another...
Read moreI should have left a review for this wonderful hotel last year. I apologize for being a year late. My partner and I live in Georgia, and took a much needed cross-country vacation last year. We went through 12 states in 38 days and drove over 8000 miles. We stopped at the Best Western Santa Rosa Inn and let me tell you, the room was impeccably clean! The beds were so comfortable. I was actually afraid I wouldn't wake up the next day. That's how comfortable the beds are. Our bathroom was so clean you could have eaten off the floor! The hotel property itself was very clean and well kept. I love the fact that you can park right in front of your room. That is a big plus. Also, the hotel is all on one level, so there are no steps to go up or down. That too is a big plus! I have to keep talking about the beds though, because I just can't get over how comfortable they were. We have very expensive pillow top mattresses here at our house. Our beds were about $3500 each, and they are not as comfortable as the beds at the Santa Rosa Inn. I even reached out to the manager, asking if they would give me information where the beds were purchased. Unfortunately, they’re only sold to hotels. Everyone knows when you're traveling, a good night's sleep is the key to having a good next day. Upon checking out that next morning, we literally floated to Las Cruces. We are already planning another cross country vacation, and we are looking forward to staying at the Best Western Santa Rosa Inn again. I do want to say that the young lady who checked us in was very friendly, and the housekeeping staff was too. Thank you for a lovely stay, and again, I apologize for not writing a...
Read moreWe stayed at the Best Western on our way through to get to AZ. It's off historic rte 66 and while it may have been great in its heyday it has gone downhill and is in desperate need of attention. I give 2 stars because the beds were ok and seemed to have clean sheets on them, but it was clear the rest of the room was only given a cursory clean. There was trash under the AC unit and what looked like snot wiped on the back of the tub that was not from us. The food for the breakfast got those of us who dared to try it sick, the bread had mold growing on it in the cabinet and there was no one for us to inform while we were eating. The rest of the property looks sketchy, on of the pillars in the front was being held up by a pallet. Not only is this unappealing to look at but scares the heck out of me because I'm sure that it isn't secure and so it will really hurt someone when it comes crashing down. When we left our review for the property all we got back was a standard answer about how they were sorry we were dissatisfied with our stay and would look into our feedback. I understand that they can't provide answers to all of the allegations but at least even naming one of them back to us would make it seem like they had actually read the feedback and were taking it seriously. We won't be back, especially since the management staff doesn't seem to really care that their place is not a good...
