When we got there we were told by the young hostess to wait bc a table was being cleaned off but then was given a little buzzer after standing there for 10 minutes by a different gal without a word. (We will call her lady#2). We talked around the cute little shop and waited. It wasn't a long wait. We were sat and given menus. After another 10 minutes of nothing, someone brought chips and salsa, but we still had no water or drinks ordered. Another 8 minutes and our waitress comes without waters and asks if we are ready to order, we order drinks and appetizers, and she asks "is that it?". Not sure by what she means, I said for now yes, and she just looked at me confused. I asked if she meant for us to go ahead and place our dinner orders too and she looked at me like "duh" so we ordered. We ordered drinks from the bar but 15 minutes later she comes back with 2 waters and tells me they can't make mine (Pina Colada) says nothing about his beer. I am so done by this point but I am being polite and just chalking it up to a snafu. She leaves and comes back with the drink menu, puts it on the table without a word and walks off. When she comes back 5 minutes later, she brings the appetizer and I order a cosmo still no beer. Lady#2 brings my Cosmo after another 10 minutes. Ia ask about his beer and she looks at me annoyed and said ok. She comes back and says they don't have his beer, so he decided to just drunk water. We get our meal and it's cold and rubbery and not what was described in the menu. By this time we are both just fed up. We didn't eat hardly anything and went to pay. Asked for the manager on duty, and was given Sid(?). She was kind and apologetic. She listened and sympathized and adjusted our bill slightly. As I'm talking to her lady#2 and hostess girl are smarting off, which my husband heard but I didn't. I paid and asked what the nice lady's name was hostess was rude and said "it's sid but she's not the manager." I am honestly not sure what happened with our visit. All the tables around us were getting much better service by other waitresses. Maybe someone was having an off night, but for the experience to have gone wrong with so many different people involved it's hard to say. This place came highly recommended. We read the reviews and thought it would be a nice place to have our anniversary dinner. It was awful. Definitely not a good end...
Read moreI'm a trucker and I keep trying this place every so often because it's very popular and there's very few other places to eat at in the area. None of the times I've eaten there were good. I kept hoping I was just eating the wrong thing. But so far I've eaten the chicken fajitas, taco salad, and today I played it safe and got chicken wings and brussel sprouts. The chicken fajitas were dry and bland, was a small portion for the price and it doesn't come with any sides other than a little guacamole. The taco salad was mostly lettuce and it was blander than I expected but was a decent portion. The chicken wings were the usual portion you get anywhere, they were cooked pretty well on the outside, but the inside was a little questionable on doneness so I didn't eat them off the bone all the way. The brussel sprouts were a small portion and was supposed to be put on the grill but the texture was mushy like they were cooked frozen ones. I assumed maybe the burgers were good though I never tried them, but the older couple next to us complained to themselves that they didn't really like theirs and they both had burgers. Idk if it being the only thing in the desert is why everyone raves about it. Maybe if your starving it'd be awesome. And I'm really not a complainer. The food really is just so very underwhelming for the price.
The service was always good though and the staff is friendly. The gift shop is worth checking out too. Lots of beautiful jewelry, blankets, purses, but the best part is the selection of books. They have a collection of books beautifully written and illustrated by indigenous authors that you should take a look at if you...

When we walked in it seemed ok they have a gift shop as soon as you walk in and when we said we had three in our party they said it would be 20 minutes we were starving and were like ok no problem. We were sat after 20 min then took 15 minutes just to get our order and our drinks. Then another thirty mins to get our food. My parents had the chicken enchiladas Santa Fe style and I had ordered the tamale plate one pork and one chicken, our plates came with rice and pozole as the sides. We all looked at each other like pozole for side not rice? But ok I guess trying a small bowl of pozole would be fine. The food came out my parents enchiladas had huge chunks of chicken not seasoned just white and very dry then the tortillas covered in very spicy green sauce. We did not have no issues with the green sauce being spicy just with the meal not having any other flavor other than the green salsa. The “pozole” was just hominy on the plate with a little of their red salsa but even with the salsa it still managed to be very dry. My tamales were far from being winners also drench with the spicy green salsa which is all I tasted. The star of our meals were the beans and over cooked tortilla chips! So needless to say very dissatisfying, and disappointing. Beware and stay away unless you want to end up reenacting the seen from Bridesmaids where they ate the bad...
