Quality Inn and Suites is higher than a Motel 6, but lower than a luxury hotel. It is your slightly better than average and affordable feel at home place. It is located on a busy high way on Santa Rosa avenue. I enjoyed the location because on the other side of the lot is a Mexican restaurant, a Mexican market, a vape shop, and even a laundromat! It definitely makes it convenient to have one right by your hotel room. They don’t allow pets unless it’s strictly a service dog and the rooms are 100% smoke free. Although there is a designated smoking area in the parking lot.
The rooms themselves were decent. They had a microwave and a couch which pulls out as a bed although not in every room. Their heating and cooling system works and they have a nice tv. The highest the volume goes on the tv is 50. Unfortunately I did have a bad experience with one of the rooms. It was a queen bed suite which means it had a little kitchen area with a sink and cabinets, but there was no phone, no fire alarm, and the sink got clogged right away. The room was not cleaned thoroughly as I found items from previous guests. I can see why there is sometimes cheap rates.
They have breakfast in the morning from 6-9 which you do have to walk down to the lobby for. They serve coffee, bagels, sausage, sometimes eggs. They have a vending machine as well, but there have been a couple of times where it eats the money, but doesn’t give you the item.
The front desk agents were nice. There was one woman with dark hair and an accent. She was more on the quiet side, but still displayed the information she needed too. Then there was one who’s name was Erica. She treats you as if you’re an old friend. For whoever hired her, thank you!
Tip: you can find cheaper rates through 3rd party apps and websites rather than the hotel itself. Just search up “cheap hotels in Santa Rosa.” You then click on Quality Inn and Suites and it shows you different options of cheap rates.
I think this inn is great for a casual stay or if you need something quick and cheap. It may not always be top notch, but if you don’t mind that you’ll be okay.

The smoking areas could be cleaned better because I’ve seen a few times a bunch of trash all around the bench.
The location is not the best. There can sometimes be people hanging around the parking lot at night, random strangers riding bikes through the parking lot. It seems a bit dangerous actually so I would just stay cautious and have a buddy if you can. Not the best for children.
One of the times I got another queen bed suite one night and although I love the room itself it had ripped curtains.
The housekeepers need to be adding at least two trash cans. One in the room itself and one in the bathroom. They usually just give you one in the bathroom.
Erica continues to be phenomenal and accommodating. She is a huge asset to this hotel.

My guest and I were placed in a queen suite the last time we stayed here and not only was the remote control not working, but the iron wasn’t either. They did give us another iron, however they did not give us new batteries so we were stuck figuring out the tv ourselves.
Also the front desk never seems to answer their phone so please to whomever the manager may be tell your employees to make sure they’re responding to your...
Read moreI have been travelling all my life, as a child with my parents and as an adult. Parts of the USA (including Hawaii), Jamaica, Canada, the UK, Ireland, and Western Europe. I do not exaggerate when I say this was the WORST stay of my entire life. The first red flag was trying to get Front Desk just to answer the phone. I had some questions about my reservation. Every time I called, the phone rang and rang without anyone picking up the phone. On my third call, a woman answered, said "Quality Inn, please hold". She was friendlier when she came back on the phone, but it was the same when I was in my room. The Front Desk phone would ring incessantly without anyone answering. The parking lot was full of trash, including a large mattress propped up against a tree. One wall was crumbling, as if a car had driven into it. When I got out of my car, the lot stank of urine. The hallways and stairs had bits of trash and grass or debris. Apparently Housekeeping can't be bothered to clean up the hallways and stairs. The security lock on my room's door was broken, so I propped a chair against the door. The bathroom was clean (a strong smell of bleach in the shower) except for dust and dirt on the floorboards, which I cleaned myself using a damp washcloth. The blowdryer didn't work, and I had to get another one from Front Desk. The receptionist handed it to me in a box, and at least was polite enough to ask if I wanted her to open it for me. Maintenance never stopped by to install the new one. A handle was missing from one of the dresser drawers, and a hole was in the closet door where the hinge should be. Overall, the room was fairly clean, but the furniture looked old and worn. There were cobwebs in the ceiling corners, and cracks in the paint on the floorboards. The comforter (check photos for the green coverlet) was as thin as a sheet. In fact, I think it was a sheet. I have never seen a comforter so thin. When I asked Front Desk twice for a blanket, they replied that none were available. Seriously? The hotel cannot afford to have a proper supply of blankets?! I finally went to Target to purchase one of my own. The hotel's "comforter" was also stained with what looked like lipstick. No breakfast in spite of the hotel's website. I am aware of the restrictions because of COVID, but the website should have reflected that. "Breakfast" was coffee or tea. Nothing else. The women at the Front Desk were polite enough, except for the fact that they couldn't be bothered to stand. They sat the entire time. I have worked in Hospitality myself, once at the Front Desk for a B&B, once as Group Reservations Agent for a resort. I have never encountered such a lack of professionalism at a hotel. How they manage to stay in business is a mystery. Quality Inn Corporations should renovate the hotel completely, upgrade the parking lot, and train their staff how to behave with professional courtesy. Again, worst experience at a hotel in my entire life. I will never stay at any Quality Inn...
Read moreWhere to begin? When we checked in at about 9:30 pm, the clerk seemed genuinely surprised that we were from so far away; most hotels actually expect that, so I started to feel uneasy, particularly looking at the sheer number of apparent guests in the parking lot smoking and looking at us in a strange way. Then we get our room. I asked for a ground floor room in my reservation comments (I booked directly on the official hotel website), but got a second floor room. No elevator, which sucked for my knees. The walls in the stairwell were grungy and dirty. So far not feeling too confident about my hotel choice. Then we entered the room. The first thing we noticed was the fire detector was flashing a bright red, which is an indicator there are issues with detector and it’s not working properly. Next to it was a fire sprinkler that was missing parts; probably why the related detector was flashing a hugely bright red light. Being a savvy person who is knowledgeable with CA building codes, I know it is not legal to house anyone in this room. But apparently all other rooms were full. So, we decide to just sleep and get out ASAP. We pulled back the sheets and found hairs in the bed, an indication that the sheets were never changed. So gross. Luckily I bring my own stuff for beds since this is fairly common even in the most exclusive hotels. The bed wasn’t too bad, so, exhausted, I fell asleep pretty fast. When I woke up, the sun lit up the room so all of the less obvious things came to light. Stains on the ceilings in a pattern that is probably some sort of bodily fluid; the curtains were discolored, especially along the bottom of one panel; the sheer curtain behind the blackout curtain was shredded (I mean COMPLETELY OBLITERATED); the freezer in the mini fridge was completely frosted over (no way to get food in it); the carpet was disgusting; the safety latch was completely broken and there were chisel marks around the lock where it had obviously been broken open before); the lock on the bathroom door was broken; there was no hair dryer; and it just had a dirty look and feel. So I pack up and get out ASAP. But decide to grab some breakfast on my way out; not shockingly, this was a bad idea. The sausage was underdone, the egg-looking food substance was rubbery and the cereal dispenser was grimy and had the actual brand of the original cereal it once bore crossed out and corn flakes inserted (the cheapest cereal available); I chose not to eat anything. This is in the running for the worst hotel experience I have ever had, tying with a hotel where I found a dead rat in the room. It has slumlord feel to it. The only recommendation I can give is that the place be condemned, as it’s not fit for human (or...
