Ok so normally I would never do something like this because Im not the type to put people on blast publically but the situation that I heard was terrible that happened to one of the guests...I was actually visiting a friend who was staying at this hotel and this sweet older lady Barb was outside when me and my buddy got some fresh air...what she told us I can't believe the lack of human compassion behind it ..so this lady paid to stay in the hotel for a week...they saw the room SLIGHTLY is disarray because she had to call for an ambulance because she fell down...so they had to force their way into the room ...when they saw the dirty floor (now mind you she has a bad back as and can't bend over for things to pick them up so it's not her fault that her floor was a little messy but because her floor was "messy", they decided kick her out... Just because of the messy floor... They said they would return the money but it doesn't go on her card for 5 to 7 days so it's cold out and she has nowhere to go ...they are literally kicking her out because of a dirty floor... All I know is it was a female manager at the Radisson hotel in Schaumburg... The lack of humanity makes me sick... She worked hard her whole life she told us her whole life story she was so sweet and she doesn't deserve this to kind of treatment... I was literally appalled when I heard this story... I'm pretty sure you all will be too ...how do you kick an older lady out into the cold she can barely walk she's got a bad back... I mean it just blows my mind the lack of compassion it makes me sick people nowadays are so ruthless and cold.. that is not reason to kick her out... So my buddy made sure to open up the door for her on our way back in and we both listened to her long story and felt so bad for her we took her to her room and because she can't bend over we picked up things that she needed because she couldn't bend over to reach him.. just makes me sick that people treat each other this way... things are so different nowadays when this is the type of shit we need to get past ...everybody should be looking out for each other.. I pray that this woman gets some kind of shelter because like I said she's not going to have her money for 5 to 7 days because when you put money back on a card it always takes time...they didn't have to put her in this situation...like I don't even know what to say...it's pathetic and to go around abusing your power and kicking out an elderly lady when she already paid for the week is beyond abuse of power and lacks all human compassion...I'll never step foot in this hotel again...they need to fix problem and allow her to stay..i pray for her...she was so kind and sadly, rightfully nervous...just...
Ā Ā Ā Read more0 stars. Absolutely 0 stars. Youāre in for a treat with this review - keep reading. Upon arriving at 1am due to a very scary storm delay in our travels, my husband, sister and I were exhausted and so looking forward to sleeping anywhere that felt remotely decent.
Upon arrival, we were told that shuttle services and parking were paid features that were different than the prices communicated at booking. Not an huge issue. Then, we attempted to enter through the side door with our provided key, where the staff decided to manually let us in after trying for a few minutes saying, āthe door doesnāt workā - after we had asked if we can use this specific side door. Again - not the end of the world, we were tired and just ready to crash.
Weāre in! Elevator REEKS of weed. A weed bomb went off in there. REEKAGE. Made it to our floor; and found that we were given a room where PEOPLE WERE CURRENTLY STAYING, the door did not open because they had their interior door lock on. Poor souls probably thought someone was breaking into their room at 1am because we practically were!! Reported to staff immediately and requested a new room - they said a very quick āmy badā and gave us the same room number one floor up.
We get to the next provided room, SAME ISSUE - door locked from the inside. People are either staying there, or the room is not in service - I donāt know. Canāt even believe it.
If you do decide to risk it all and commit potential break and entry for someone elseās room at this pit of a hotel, do not take the elevator. The mechanics are hanging out of position and the makeshift floor is lifting, not secure feeling whatsoever. Also, fire extinguishers are not fastened to the walls throughout the building and look like they are slowly falling to their own slow death.
PS - we were told there was no pool despite being told there was a pool at booking - not a chance in HECK weād risk it anyways.
I know this is out of their control, but the fact that bats were SWARMING outside the building shouldāve been our first sign to run for the hills. SWARMING and swooping at us.
A few more thoughts on the elevator because apparently I havenāt listed all the issues yet - the elevator floor indicator is wrong based on the actual floor, and the room number directions posted throughout the building are not sequential. Holes in the drywall riddled throughout the building. Mouldings are not secured to the walls, and are lifting off in many places. Horrible horrible HORRIBLE.
I would be so embarrassed to own this hotel - it needs to be torn down and rebuilt from scratch. A shame that Radisson has their name on this -...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would NOT advise anyone to stay here unless it was absolutely necessary. First this hotels security is TERRIBLE, walking in through side doors there was a gap about 1/4 inch between the door and the wall and no lock on the door, any person could walk in without a key. If your key gets de-magnetized they don't check ID just ask for the room number you claim to have access to and they will give it to you. During my 2 night stay the elevator broke TWICE once trapping someone's young children inside, and while their children were stuck the workers did very little to try and help and the kids were stuck for at least 10 minutes before anyone took them seriously. While the elevators were broken I took the stair well which was very poorly maintained with orange and brown staining along the walls, trash bags next to the doors for some of the levels, and human feces. The facilities and things provided by the hotel are very much below par. The ice machine had sticky residue all over it and had mold growing on it and most likely in it as well; the lobby smelled so strong it felt like they were trying to cover up some sort of smell; the coffee that they provided was almost always empty and when there rarely was coffee it was severely watered down; The breakfast that they claim to provide is non existent, instead they give you a $5 voucher for McDonalds which is not next door making it increasingly inconvenient. The rooms themselves were not bad however the house keeping seems to do very little before a new guest arrives, I found food a used Q-Tip on a couch, no towels, and little toilet paper. The room I paid for was supposed to have two twins, a microwave, and a mini fridge non of which was provided. Instead we got a king bed with out a fridge or microwave. This hotel seems to be selling things inside of the hotel either not replacing it or replacing it with cheaper items, for example there was a tv mount on the wall for a relatively big tv but no tv was found on the mount, instead a much smaller one was on a dresser. Finally the bathroom has me very concerned for mold, in my bathroom there was a vent right behind the shower head, that vent is dark and will get wet all the conditions mold loves which would ultimately be a health code violation for hotels. To sum it up I strongly believe that this hotel is not only not held to the standards any hotel should be held to but also...
