Unfortunately, our recent visit was the most disrespectful encounter that has ever happened at a restaurant. Be careful with tipping because they will accuse you of not tipping and demand you to tip again even if you already did.
After our meal, our server brought us the checks, but mistakenly charged us for the wrong meals which we realized after she had processed our bills. We decided to just let it be and leave since it was around $5 difference. Even after the mix up we still left a large tip in cash on the table and left.
As we exited the restaurant, an older woman—presumably another staff member—chased after us and aggressively accused us of not leaving a tip. She continued repeating the accusation in a confrontational tone, blocking us near the exit despite our explanation that the tip had been left at the table. She ended up going back inside.
We stayed behind to ensure the situation was resolved and returned inside to confirm. When we did, the women simply nodded and dismissed us without any apology or acknowledgement of the misunderstanding she had caused.
This kind of treatment is absolutely unacceptable, especially toward your paying customers that bring in business. No one should be publicly confronted or treated with such hostility—especially when they've done nothing wrong.
To the owner: Your food is great and shows promise, but it's disheartening to see your establishment represented this way. Its unfortunate that this experience overshadowed an otherwise enjoyable meal. Due to this behavior that your staff member showed, I will not...

My mom and I are frequent customers of Torizen, to the point where the waitress always recognizes us. We come here with other friends and bring other family members all the time. The food is great, but as other reviews have said, their service toward seating is TERRIBLE and they don’t accommodate long term customers at all. Not to mention, they lack common sense when arranging their tables.
We came here a few weeks ago for my mom’s birthday. We came right when they opened with a party of 7. They had a few tables open, and they were directing people to them. There were two tables next to each other and one separated away. The waiter let a party of TWO sit at one of the two tables next to each other, and they tried to separate our party. We tried to squeeze into one table, but someone came out specifically telling us it just wasn’t possible, they couldn’t accommodate us like that and we had to take the separated tables or leave. If they had used their minds and let the party of 2 sit at the other table, my family could have sat at tables next to each other. Not to mention, the fact that we’re frequent customers holds absolutely no weight for them at all. They did not even try to help us find another solution to make the seating work. So we left and scrambled to find another place for my mom’s birthday.
My mom and I loved torizen, but it’s safe to say we’re not coming back to a place that doesn’t value long term customers. Not to mention, they’re always switching and taking off their miso ramen...
Read moreThe first time I went to this restaurant, it was for lunch and I ordered the Oyako-don. I left a satisfied customer and decided to rate the place 3 stars. I thought it was good, but I wasn't really blown away. I did not write the review at that time and it so happened that I ended up going again with another friend one evening. I ordered the ramen, a few sticks of yakitori and the karaage. It was the Karaage and the yakitori that left me in a daze and convinced me that this place should be rated 5 starts. You see, since moving back from Japan, I have searched far and wide for a Japanese restaurant that has karaage that is at least a fraction as good as the one that I had in Japan. Every bite of karaage that I took in the States was filled with disappointment until I had Torizen's karaage. I was honestly dumbfounded. The taste was so close to what I knew and loved. Even the texture was a million times better other karaage that I've had here in America. Regardless of whether you've been to Japan or not, you MUST try the karaage here. In addition, enjoy some yakitori. The seasoning is just right; it does not get in the way of the natural deliciousness of the chicken. Even the ramen is something that I proudly recommend. It's rich, delicious, the egg is cooked as it ought to be when it is in a ramen, the noodles' texture is neither too soft nor too hard, and the chashu is juicy and wonderful.
You really should stop here if you are craving some really good...
