First off, the picture they use for their profile is misleading and false. This does not represent the room (110) that I stayed in. Let's start with the CONS and then move on to the PROS. Let's just say as a solo female with a small dog in tow, I was on HIGH alert when I was at the Red Roof Inn location because I did not feel comfortable outside. ||CONS:||1). The door did not shut properly. I had to always double check to make sure it closed properly before I locked it. |2). The table, computer desk, computer desk chair were all broken. |3). The bedspreads were covered in stains. |4). The mini refrigerator was disgusting. The second shelf was moldy and all the racks inside were broken. There was black mold growing under the refrigerator. |5). The beds were super tall and I would say at least 3 feet. I took my own pillow so I was happy with that because the selection they provided was horrible. The mattress also moved on the frame. |6). The light switch immediately when you walked in did not work. |7). There was a smell to the room. |8). At the free breakfast bar, I was too scared to try anything other than a sealed yogurt. I was a bit taken back because there was no hot water to make a cup of tea. I guess I could have used the coffee maker in the room but considering the state of cleanliness the refrigerator, I did not trust the coffee maker to be cleaned enough to make a cup of hot water. SIDE NOTE: They only put out 1 flavor of yogurt a day. The first day, it was strawberry. The second day, it was peach. It would have been nice to have a choice. |9). The microwave barely worked. |10). They had the water set that it would only go a hair above luke wam and as someone who LOVES hot showers this was upsetting. |11). It took most of the first night to cool down the room. |12). I was not given 2 brand new rolls of TP but rather 2 almost empty rolls for my 3 night stay. |13). The towels were thin & cheap. |14). Instead of a Kleenex box, they provided a small travel pack of tissues. |15). The floor was sooooo dirty. It needed a basic sweeping. ||NOTES: ||1). This is location was more or less booked in the 3 nights I was there. I could tell that part of the reason for bookings was it is cheap and allows dogs. The dogs are free. I would say for the most part, the dogs were well behaved and there was not alot of barking but we did hear some barking. |2). They allow for weekly room rates and there were some people who seemed more like they lived there rather than staying and fishing for the week. Again, as a solo woman this creeped me out. |3). It seemed to be a-lot of men stayed here and seemed to be fishermen but that did not put me at ease as a solo woman traveling with a dog. Although my dog did bring me comfort since I was so on edge. |4). Not once in 3 days I was there, did I see a maid cleaning the rooms. |5). This location is off of a divided 4 lane country road and this was part of my uneasiness. |6). For them allowing dogs, there was no real dedicated pet area for them to relieve themselves. I would have appreciated if that had been since they seemed (on the internet) to be dog friendly. |7). The pool was not open and functional while I was there but the pool furniture was all broken. |8). There was ONE ice machine for the entire motel. |||PROS: ||1). I had a free parking spot right outside my door. I felt so uneasy that I was always back at my room before sunset. |2). I seemed to keep deactivating my card due to my phone and the attendant in the lobby was rather quick to issue me a new card and even got to the point he knew my room number because I did it so often. ||FINAL ASSESSMENT: ||I would skip staying at this location this and stay some where else where I felt safe. I would pay extra for the dog. This place needs new management and all the rooms need a deep clean with most basic furniture and appliances replaced. All linens also need to be replaced...
Read moreOver the last three years, I've stayed here well over ten times. Also, over those years, this hotel has gone downhill. Last night, if I had had more money, I would've taken my business elsewhere. Within an hour after check in, I pull the covers back to reveal short, black hairs on the sheets that clearly weren't mine as I'm redhead, no one else was with me and I'd only been there a little over an hour. When I tried to call the front desk, the phone didn't work. Called from my cell phone, explained what room I'm in, why I'm calling and she wants to know if I want the sheets changed. Um, ya think?! The headboard had greasy handprints from obvious other encounters. Good thing it wasn't swimming season. The pool looked like green sludge. To top it off, at 3:30am, I go to the bathroom and see a tiny cockroach. Yes, a cockroach. Then, I kept seeing more. I tried going back to sleep, as I had a long 9 hour drive ahead of me. I couldn't. I took all of my stuff out of the room, dumped it out in the parking lot to make sure none had gotten into my things. I went to check out, told the girl about the roaches, she acted as if she didn't believe me, even though I showed her a picture of one. Then, she said she was sorry. That's it. No offer of a refund, nothing. Never ever again will I stay here. Check YELP, I posted pictures there since I...
Read moreI can't really review the room here because I never got to it. We needed a place to stay that would accommodate our larger dog. We had left the motel we had booked because it was filthy. I found this establishment with an availability for one night and called the 800 number on the Red Roof Inn website to inquire about a pet friendly room and reserve it. I was told on the phone that my dog only had to be under 80 pounds and we were good. When I arrived at the motel I was asked the size and breed of my dog. When I stated he was 50 pounds and a mixed breed, mostly bulldog I was told we could not stay as there was a 40 pound weight limit and they didn't allow any breed of bulldog. I had driven an hour from our first motel to get to this one, we had nowhere else to go. I told the clerk that I understood policies but that is not what I was told when I booked the room an hour ago. He said when you book with a third party they don't know our policy changes. I told him that I had not booked with a third party I booked directly with the 800 number on the company website he just said, "policies change." If I had been told over phone they wouldn't take my dog I would have understood. It is hard traveling with a bigger dog, but I didn't appreciate not finding out until I arrived at...
