Ok rooms but I did notice the alarm clock was blinking and I thought it didn't work wich its fine but then I used the small microwave and the small coffee maker at the same time and the light of the room went out. I was making myself a coffee, when I pressed the start bottom of the microwave and puff, no light. We had to go to the guest desk to let them know about the issues and then theyfixedx it. Thats when I notice that alarm clock blinking again, I figured that they keep having issues with the electricity in that room, maybe that is why that clock is always blinking, and the owners of the hotel keep renting it. That room was not very good, AC didn't work properly either. It felt so much humidit, and it was not fresh enough. And before leaving I saw a little animal inside that room. It was not a nice stay.

Great reception! Very friendly, eager to help, & make you feel welcome. Loved the room, super clean & nice/updated, loved the colorful decor, & nice furniture. Smoke-free property, I would stay again 👍👍👍👍. I was just very disappointed when I got here and found out the hot tub had been closed down, one of the reasons why I booked here... because Google said there was a hot tub, that info. needs to be updated. Always call first & make sure. Room was very large & spacious!

Paid for 2 nights and reserved telling them we had pets. Upon check in there is a huge sign saying pets welcome and once checked into our room, the door on the inside was scratched up. To avoid being charged this fee. We informed the front desk it was scratched up when we checked in. They told us they purposely put us in that room because those are pet friendly and have already been scratched. Ok. The room smelled, but as an older hotel that’s to be expected. Also no deadbolt on door if you are a single woman this is a red flag. The pool was also not properly secure when we went to swim this morning, so please watch your children/ the gate was wide open. Went to breakfast, breakfast is provided but it is a pretty basic breakfast. Nothing hot. All cereal and breads. No OJ (they did have sunny D or a generic sunny D) .||||While at the Kemah boardwalk with my son, I got a call that my dog was barking and per policy we must come to take care of dog. We left Kemah boardwalk and headed that way to take care of the dog. Upon arrival my dog was not barking, so I took a video to show.||A man came out of one of the rooms and advised me that he had been working in room 211 and heard her whining and in order to comfort her had gone to talk to her. So obviously that would make her bark if it’s a stranger. At any rate the dog had calmed down from either whining or barking. I messaged the person from the hotel who had messaged me about the dog to begin with and texted this:||||“I’m here now. She wasn’t barking when I got here. The guy working down the hall came out when he saw me. He said she was whining so he came to door to calm her down. Well he just made her mad. Who else complained because there is nobody else here other than a loud family with lots of children making just as much noise. And the worker isn’t a resident here. He showed me the video and she was whining, but if any stranger comes up to the door of course she’s going to bark.”||||About 3 minutes later the person who texted me about the dog came up banging on the door demanding entry because I was hiding something and wanted to see damage to the room or whatever else she thought was going on. Come to find out she is the owner and the maintenance guy working was her husband and she was mad apparently because that was her husband I talked about in the above text I sent her. I told her no I didn’t have to let her in and she began banging on the door saying she was going to call the police 👮‍♂️ on me and she had the right to enter at anytime. She kept screaming about the police and demanding entry. All over the above text message.||||My 8 year old was terrified of this strange angry person demanding in and saying she was going to call the police. She was screaming. It was bizarre. She was demanding over and over I let in. I let her in, and she said OH YOU HAVE TWO DOGS. Well it’s not my fault when we made reservations you didn’t mark it right and then she demanded we vacate the property and on her way out she yelled that she would charge me for the door damage anyways that we had already told them about when we checked in. She immediately charged the 50 dollars to the card.||||My 8 year old was terrified, thinking police were coming to get his mom and cried in the car. I have never been treated this way. I have booked countless Airbnb’s and hotels. Just left New Braunfels La Quinta for a week and had a wonderful experience. Stay somewhere else in the area, also filed a complaint with the BBB||||Our trip to the boardwalk over shadowed by this experience. They are not pet or family friendly. I would recommend staying anywhere else. I feel most terrible my son had to experience such a raging angry woman all over a text message about a dog. I am single mom and now that we have been evicted we are out a hotel fee and the 50 for the door fee, so we have to cut our vacation short.||Here are pics and...

I recently traveled to Texas to see my sister. While I was there, I stayed at the Kemah Edgewater Hotel in Seabrook. I traveled 19 hours to get there. I have a service dog but he wasn't feeling well and I decided to leave him with my sister while my wife and I went to check into the hotel.| When we arrived at the hotel to check in, the man at the front desk (Danny) proceeded to tell me that I was going to be charged for my service dog because it was not with me. I tried to explain to him that I had just traveled a long way and my dog wasn't feeling well, and I had my wife with me, Danny said he wasn't a service animal. He proceeded to tell me that my dog had to be with me 24/7/365 according to the ADA. When I tried to tell him that he was wrong, and the ADA doesn't say that, and my wife was with me in case I had issues, he proceeded to give me my credit card back and told me that I could go and stay somewhere else, then pointed at the door. I couldn't understand him very well because his English wasn't very good. I was 19 hours from home, tired and at this point, very upset. I didn't want to argue with him. | The ADA says you have to be in control of your service dog at all times. It doesn't say that your service dog has to be with you at all times. | But, I told him I still wanted to stay and he told me I was going to be charged $25.00 a night for my dog. I was upset still but paid his fee because I didn't want to take the time to try to find another place or argue with him about the wording of the ADA.| I stayed for a night and couldn't sleep because I was upset with him. Because he wouldn't believe me, no matter what I said. It wasn't fair! He was rude!| The next day I decided I needed to get away from this hotel and this guy because I was still angry. I asked him to refund me for two nights so I could get out of there. He proceeded to tell me that I had to contact Expedia and that he couldn't authorize it. When I contacted the company we used, they had to call Edgewater to talk to them before they could make a decision. That didn't make sense to me. They came back to the phone and told me, no. I couldn't get a refund. I couldn't understand why and he couldn't explain it to me so I stayed because I had already paid for 3 nights.| I didn't sleep the second night because I was upset about 2 things now! The third night was a bit better. However, I couldn't wait to get out of there!| Having said all that, I could go into detail about what I thought of the hotel itself but I will refrain. | After my trip I went on Google to do a little research on the Edgewater Hotel and found many reviews stating that this hotel has been doing this to people for a long time. This guy Danny was very rude and he twists words around to make you think he knows what he is talking about but it's not true! He is lying to people and threatening to make them leave and he is charging people fees and that's not legal. | I have a legitimate service animal and it does not have to be with me 100% of my time. My wife was standing right beside me and she takes care of me when my dog isn't. When I tried to explain that to him, he still said my dog wasn't a service dog. He knows nothing about me or my life. How dare he! | Saying everything above, I know people try to say their dogs are service animals when they're not. So, I understand completely that this happens and this guy shouldn't have to put up with it. It's sad but I can't help what others do. I know my dog helps me. Danny just wanted to make extra money and took advantage of me. It not fair and I want an apology. As a matter of fact, all I want is an apology from Danny and for him to stop taking advantage of people with legitimate service dogs. He can keep his money! Oh, I'll never stay...

We checked into this hotel on Monday the 8th. When we got to the hotel. The room was not ready at check-in time and we patiently waited in the lobby and had a snack in the vending machine. While we were waiting we were told the elevator was also not working and would delay the time more. We still patiently waited. After getting to our room around 3:30 pm we dropped our things off, changed and left for the Kemah Boardwalk (which I highly recommend the boardwalk, very family friendly and clean).

We didn’t get back to the hotel until after 7:30 pm. And was hoping to go swimming but when we got down to the pool, it was not filled up and the filters were not going so we weren’t able to swim. So, I gave my 5 year old a bath and we changed into our pjs to lay down. We weren’t in the room an hour before the phone rang. My Mom answered the phone and said “hello” 5 times. No sound or voice on the other end so she hung up. We thought this was odd. But we laid back down. About 2 minutes later there was an extremely loud banging at the door. Sounded like someone was trying to break down the door. I answered the door to see a very irate woman, with no identification related to the hotel. Before I could say anything she started yelling. “I’m the owner of this hotel that you just hung up on”. I informed her that I didn’t even answer the phone and that my Mom tried and she couldn’t hear anyone talking. She went on to say over and over “I’m the owner of this hotel and I can kick you out”. Cameras on floor 2 can reveal that! She then went on yelling very very loudly pointing her finger in front of my 5 year old saying “I’ve been getting complaints for two days about your child running around”. I explained to her that we just checked in that day and our room wasn’t even ready at check in. So it couldn’t possibly be us for two days. She then said “no, y’all checked in yesterday”. Which she clearly didn’t check her records as “the owner of the hotel”. She continued to yell very loudly and kept reminding us that “she is the owner and can kick us out”. My Dad asked her why she was yelling and informed her that he was 61 and had never had someone that represented themselves as an owner of a hotel act like that. She continued to yell down the hallway as she was walking back.

There isn’t anything extraordinary about this hotel. We originally booked a few months ago because it was a LaQuinta. But apparently it has changed names since then. From reading other reviews, the yelling seems to be something that has happened before. If it wouldn’t have been where we already were charged for the stay, we would have packed up and went somewhere else. We didn’t eat breakfast there or use the main lobby during our stay because we didn’t want to run into the very disrespectful “owner” of the hotel. She never identified herself nor presented hotel credentials. I was pretty close to calling the cops for how she treated my son and for how she harassed guest of “her hotel”. Upon checkout we requested her name, which is Jennifer. The card says general manager. A review with the BBB will also...
