I wish I could give a higher rating ...but unfortunately I cannot. My family stayed here on May 16th-17th. As far as the hotel itself; the rooms were nicely remodeled and the location is convenient. Though an elevator would be a nice touch for those of us who don't do stairs well.
The front desk staff was polite until... We checked out on Thursday and I realized I had left my earrings behind on the bathroom counter. These earrings were only worth about $250-300, but were incredibly sentimental.
I called about an hour after we left to report that I had left them behind and was told, "No problem, we'll get them from the room and give you a call back." I get a call the following day to be told that they didn't have my earrings.
Unsatisfied, I wait until Monday, giving them some time to "shake down" the suspected employee and to my dismay, I was told I must be responsible in some way for their disappearance (ie... falling down the drain which is impossible or that I packed them up, which I certainly did not).
After I reiterated that the earrings were undoubtedly taken from our room, I was treated as though I was after a free night stay or compensation some form (I NEVER once asked for anything but ther return of my earrings).
Right. Yes, let's stay in an establishment that has proven itself untrustworthy. The owner and staff were absolutely unwilling to try to make the situation better in any way, including even so little as offering an apology. Additionally, the potential offer of a room compensation was quickly rescinded when I made it clear that I would be making an honest review of this establishment.
I filed a theft report with the Sequim police department. Officer Cory Hall was incredibly professional and a pleasure to have conversed with.
On the bright side, I booked with Travelocity who were absolutely fantastic in dealing with this situation. In fact, they were the ONLY ones to offer an apology.
Hard lesson learned, especially hard when you've been a Red Lion patron for all 22 years of...
Read moreIt is our first time in Sequim we're so excited to try somewhere new for us. Never been here before. Our first adventure for the fall season. We came in here late 10/26 checked in and the guy was great. The swimming pool was nice and warm they have lifejackets for my sweet baby boy. The room was nice. Now here is where it went bad. Of course I have pictures to add. My boy accidentally peed the bed when he got up around 645 am. He's 4. I took the sheets off so they would know to make sure they washed them. As I was taking off the sheet OMG..... A ducking can't say the word I really want to use. There was a ducking ear wig... In between the sheets. Yes we slept on that bug all night long. I usually check for bugs since I've had very bad experiences before. But yeah my fault for not checking.... I called the front desk lady who came up and looked and said oh it was an earwig and killed it and left. She did offer us a different room so we could finish getting ready but by that time I was almost packed up and ready to get the hell out of here. But we did stay for the complementary breakfast. Man oh man we should have just left when we had a chance. They have a great set up for breakfast and a variety of things. Cold eggs and sausage. It looked so good. If you're still reading this it only gets better. I sure hope you do read all the way through. I asked the front desk what she wanted to do about the bug in the bed. She looks at me like I am crazy..... You know it's ducking disgusting to have a bug in your bed when you're sleeping. I guess I can give you 25% off your bill.... And gives me the eye roll and the look like I should not even say anything about the ducking BUG...... I will never I mean never come back here again. I hope if you do stay here CHECK the bed before paying. How the DUCKING do you have an earwig in the middle of the sheets. Thank God my boy peed the bed so we could see what we were...

-very strict on 3 o’clock check in time. Arrived at 2:30 and they would not allow an early check in
-only 10 people allowed in the pool area at a time (due to COVID) which is understandable but really sucked when my 3 & 4 year old were suited up and excited only for us to get to the pool and have to turn around and go back to our room to wait. Then the next day when we went to the pool, there were only 3 people In there so we were excited to go in and swim. Not ten minutes later a family of 10, and then another family of 4 and even more families started pouring in with absolutely no regard for social distancing. That was a hard one to explain to my kiddos and why we had to leave early. It would’ve been nice if hotel staff enforced the 10 people rule. There were 25+ people in there, which is probably maximum for the smaller area when there isn’t a global pandemic happening.
-I would say this is only a partially updated hotel / more on the average side/ old-dingy smoke smell
-very small room/bathroom. Could barely shut the door to the bathroom (granted I have a big ole 37 week pregnant belly) but still the smallest bathroom I’ve ever experienced in a hotel
-other reviews were not lying about the thin walls! I could hear people walking(aka stomping) in the room above us.
-We booked on Expedia. As we were checking out of the hotel I noticed an additional charge on our card. We asked what it was and they said the rates had changed and we were automatically charged for the difference. They did refund us, but if we hadn’t noticed then they would have just charged us more than what we booked the room for...
