This was a great little hotel for the price! I stayed for three nights and with taxes and fees paid about $300.||Pros: The rooms were large and clean. Beds were comfortable. Lots of outlets. Good size mini fridge. Microwave. I had a queen size single room. Had a little table and chairs. Big TV. Nice counter top sink and big mirror. Newer floors and some upgraded finishes. || It’s on the end of town towards where you come in but that’s not really a big deal. Made it easy to get to the wedding I had to go to. It’s also close to a grocery store and a gas station was across the street for incidentals. I forgot my water for my CPAP so I had to go get some distilled water and some snacks. ||Cons: The room definitely showed signs of wear. The hotel is older, the AC/Heat units are quite old. I did not run mine. The grab bar in the bathroom wobbled and the decorative cover on the shower head wouldn’t stay against the wall. ||The shower could use a corner protector on the tub to prevent water from spilling over and seeping under the flooring. I had to put a rolled towel down to sop up any water running over after my shower as soon as I got out. ||I also noticed the first night when I stepped on the floor near the doorway in the bathroom, the flooring squished down and water seeped up from the seam. Not sure if that was from the shower or from the room cleaning but it didn’t seem to happen after that.||I also noticed that after a long day out my room smelled like cigarettes despite being a non smoking hotel and room. I ended up turning on my fan that I travel/sleep with and left it on a low setting the rest of the visit and it seemed to help. So I’m not sure if it was due to the heat/ac unit in the room being older or if it was just the general smell of the room because the hotel is older but it wasn’t bothersome as long as I had the air...
Read moreOverall, a mostly decent stay for a brief overnight while catching the ferry to Victoria the next morning, unfortunately it lost a lot of value in our eyes due to the bed being beyond firm to the point of uncomfortable. The hotel felt safe and clean, no problems with noise or anything, and a lot of kids were staying there that night. It appears to be recently placed under new management. I don't know how it was before, but it seems well managed now.
The manager even walked us most of the way to our room when he saw we got turned around, and carried our large suitcase up the stairwell (no elevators here) without us even asking for it. He insisted. There seemed to possibly be an issue with the ice machine and he procured us a bucket of ice.
My only real complaint was the bed itself. We got a king size bed and it was like sleeping on a pallet. At one point, I even considered laying on the small couch instead. There was little to no cushion and very little give. I travel often and this has to be the hardest bed I've stayed on.
There is a decent breakfast offering. A quick little pancake machine, a standard waffle maker you see in many hotels now, boiled eggs, fruits, a few cereals, bread and bagels for toasting, muffins, etc. Not an extravagant breakfast, but definitely a good offering to start your day. Be aware that the breakfast area is a tad cramped. It took us a while to get through to the offerings we wanted because you have to negotiate people coming in and out as most of the food is near the entry door.
Overall, we liked the hotel, but the bed was so hard it wasn't a good nights sleep. With as good as the overall hotel was, we would probably pass this one up next time unless the mattresses were changed out for more...
Read moreBooked this hotel for Easter weekend. We were pleasantly surprised with the amazing service and kindness of the staff. Breakfast exceeded my expectations with wonderful pastries, yogurt, waffles and pancakes. It’s located not too far from downtown Sequim, so it was close to all the family we were seeing. The website had a malfunction with the pricing and charged me more, upon check in they noticed the issue and right away got me a refund back! I got a dog friendly room, and they made sure it on the first level and close to the exit door so we could take her outside easily. They were very attentive and made us feel welcomed. When we first pulled we were the only ones there and were a little skeptical, but within 30 minutes the parking lot was almost full. Lots of other families with dogs as well. This place blew away our expectations! The new management is going a good job! The room was nice, two queen beds, nice sized mini fridge and plenty of room for the dog to sleep. The rooms do have some normal wear and tear, but the bathroom was clean and partially updated (did need a new shower head) and the...
