Tops China — Restaurant in Smithfield

Dont order here around 8-9pm. Because they are in so much of a hurry to leave they will mess your order up. Over the phone theres always a little girl taking orders. Whatevrr you do GET SOMEONE ELSE TO TAKE YOUR ORDER. She always , ALWAYS manages to mess my stuff up. It never fails. I asked for general tso chicken with lo mein NOODLES in replace of the rice, tea and hot oil. Came to 16.80. I told her i needed change for a 20 (for delivery) she says okay. The driver gets here i have $20.80. He gives me a dollar and says call the store and they owe you $3. I said why cant you go to 7-11 and get change . he refuses to go and get change. It was discussed over the phone that i needed it he shouldve been prepared. So i just say whatever and i go upstairs to call the store that they owe me change. Come to realize he never gave me a recipte or a menu. I just finished calling for the 20th time and no answer. I open my food its the chicken.. But she gave me shrimp lo mein . i just wanted the noodles. Im so tired of this place ive order from this store since ive moved down here 5 times and only ONCE have they...

This place has really hit a new low. My last few meals there seemed to lack flavor. Tiny shrimp, dry rice, egg roll that tasted like cardboard. Hardly any meat in a menu item that is call Mongolian beef. The owners have now converted the front area into nothing less than a vending machine for poor quality food that takes away from the little bit of ambiance that they once had. They no longer offer delivery. They no longer allow eating in. It's offensive that they are so concerned that one of their customers may get them sick that they would take and put up a window, microphones and speakers so we can talk to each other, a two way door to get your food, a slot cut in the window to take your credit card and not even take the credit card receipt back after signed. The bank has less protection installed to protect themselves from the public. Clearly they are more concerned about getting money rather than return business. Guess it's a good thing that they put up all that protection... It really helps hide the condition of their kitchen area. Needless to say I'm done...

RUDE service. Children running the front counter. They barely say hello, no smiles no thank you. My children tried to engage the youngest one in convo and the 6 year old flounced around and shrugged her shoulders refusing to speak to her (a 4 year old). NOT a language barrier either I asked and that child speaks English as did the young girl who rang me up and took my order (about 10 years old). Tonight 3/27/2014. The 10 year old was just as rude and didn't smile the whole time even when I, a customer, tried smiling and being cordial while ordering. STONE FACED and unfriendly interprets as rude. As for the food it was extremely GREASY. Tasty but the shrimp fried rice was NOT DEVEINED how gross it that. I just moved back to the area from MD after being gone for 8 years, I didn't know restaurants even still sold shrimp without them being deveined. I've been in here before and received excellent service...But get the KIDS OFF the counter for goodness sake. If they aren't taught common courtesy how to smile and great a customer get them in the back before you...
