So I came in by myself and was seated quickly. Server arrived after 15 minutes of waiting. Several other quests that where seated around me seemed to wait extended periods of time for their server as well. My server brought my drink promptly and took my order. While waiting for the server, staff was openly discussing how other employees aren't working and such, very un-professional. While there are at least 20 people waiting at the front door for a period of time at least 7 tables I can see were left dirty for 10 minutes plus. I don't understand why a manager or owner would not have a priority set to clear tables promptly to serve quests that are actively waiting for those tables to become open. 🤔
Once my order was taken and I recieved my drink 23 minutes later, I have had no contact with my server or a checkup to see how I'm doing. I mean I thought they worked on tips and well you don't earn tips from me by not being here.
The host staff was great and friendly and is the only save from leaving a 1 star review. Maybe if I decide to come back again and the service has improved I will revisit this review. But for now service at this location is severely lacking in proper management and trained staff.
On a side note the food was served 34 minutes after my server took the order, they ran out of silerware.. The food was good and hot but I feel like I lost 90 minutes of my life coming here. 🙃
My opinion is that better supervisors or managers could correct these issues but on the meantime it's a very uncoordinated place to go. And expect to wait for extended periods of times.
Update: went back and now the food is served staggered. I got my drink. Then 20 minutes later I got my eggs, hash browns. 15 minutes later my French toast. Then 10 more minutes my scrapple. Not sure what’s going on here. But things need to change or it’s going to be out of...
Read moreHubby and I went in to eat at IHOP about 3pm today. It was a nice, quiet, and attractive atmosphere. The service was very friendly and pretty quick too. The food... yum!! We really enjoyed the food. Hubby loves the pancakes with warm syrup. Ask for it warmed, and they are happy to accommodate you with warm syrup for your pancakes. My two favorite dishes are their chicken fajita omelet and the sirloin tips. I chose the sirloin tips with eggs and home fry (square) potatoes instead of the hash browns (only because I am not a hash brown eater... you might want them, but I always choose the potatoes cut into squares no matter where I am having them. Oh, the delicious sirloin tips come in a scrumptious au-jus type liquid, with onions and mushroom but I'm not a fungus eater (LOL) so I have them leave off the mushrooms for me. As I ooooo'ed and AAAH'ed through my meal, I enjoyed every yummy bite and was so glad we chose IHOP!!! My husband enjoyed his pancakes so much he talked about what he always mentions when he eats IHOP pancakes... "I would like to go back there and see how they make them (they are so good.) I wish I remembered our servers name but what i do remember is how sweet, helpful, patient, responsive, and informative she was!!! I love that I can get breakfast all day if I choose to. The pictures of two new salads looked so good I almost got salad today. Maybe I'll try it next time, even though it is so hard to decide!! But for you and yours... Next time you're hungry and anywhere near California Maryland go get your delicious meals at IHOP!! Maybe I'll see ya' there at the same time. ENJOY!! FYI- Grandson loves the...
Read moreJohn "Star in the Sky" Starik lives up to his name by being a shining example of what any and every establishment should strive to be like. There are not enough stars that we can give in a single review that would compare to the quality of service John has given us. I've only known him for three days yet he acts and treats us like we have been good friends for a long time. His very existence put Michelin Star restaurants to shame. He is diligent, responsible, and respectful and puts a good name to the IHOP that should be grateful to have him.
When I see him come out from the set of doors that lead into the kitchen, I feel my heart begin to race. His hands carry the sustenance that a peasant like myself needs to stay alive at the end of a day. His smile puts the sun to shame, yet he gives many the privilege to cast our gaze upon such radiance. It never feels like you are left waiting and wanting-- yearning for the thing you came for. He makes minutes feel like a fleeting set of seconds when he is around. Even when we confessed our feelings of affection for him, he did not reject us. Rather, he embraced us-- literally.
John is the best. Words cannot describe how highly I think of him. Nothing can truly capture the majesty of John. I can only look up towards the night sky to see the stars above and remember how perfect John is. If one is looking for any reason to go to this IHOP specifically, I will tell you to just do it.
Do it...
