Bob Evans — Restaurant in Maryland

My boyfriend and I came here for a quick breakfast, little did we know that would not be the case. We arrived shortly before 11. Put our name on the list and the woman said it would be about 20 minutes. We looked around and saw maybe 6 people ahead of us. Okay no problem. Breakfast places are normally a quick in and out. 20 mins would be nothing, we sat waiting watching people get pulled back and more filing in. The man who was cleaning tables was taking peoples names down as well as another girl and he would drop people off at the freshly cleaned tables. It was now nearly 45 mins since we had put our names down when we noticed people who came in after us were being seated. There were still 3 groups who had come in before us who hadn’t been seated yet, someone brought it to the attention of the guy who was taking people back (black gentleman who had colored dreaded hair) and he and the man argued for a few mins before it was finally settled.

us and another party was sat in a lady’s section(no silverware) she was sweet and you could tell in her demeanor she was super busy. She took our drinks and food order and then we never saw her again. The lady who dropped off our food asked if we wanted refills we said yes and never received them. I had to actually go get silverware from the front. I was trying to wait for our waitress to come back but after 5 minutes I realized she wasn’t and went and got it myself (as a waitress myself I understand things happen) by the time we actually were eating it was 1230 and our food was cold and drinking cups were empty.

Very not happy. There must have been some confusion between the Greeter and the Table Hostesses, the one girl just gave us a racist "Look," as if we had insulted her upon entering the restaurant while the other just walked away from us and the couple wanting to pay and leave? If those employees want to play the Race card and refuse to do their jobs, maybe they should undergo retraining or learn hospitality skills. If not, be screened for termination! This place puts its Priorities behind and Caters to the Uber Eats and Door Dash Delivery over the in person guests... They do not put any priority in the Customers that are already in the restaurant waiting to be served. There should be no reason to have to wait up to 45 minutes and longer for food preparation... This isn't "Fine Dining!" We arrived and were seated by 11:40 AM. Placed order at 11:45 and drank lots of coffee (with cream served in a plastic cup and not a container of sort). I guess we were Third Class Citizens that don't rate? By 12:15, a new waitress asked if we ordered? We said, "we did!?!" Meanwhile, the food expediters were 11 orders Behind! At 20 minutes past the hour, we left and went on our way . The General Manager attempted to keep us from leaving the parking lot, but we were tired of waiting while other customers kept arriving after us and were being served! We are NOT third...

First time ever that I have been disappointed with the quality of our meals at any Bob Evans. Multiple issues today. I don’t need to hear the servers conversations about how they were fired and hired back. Servers deserve breaks to sit and eat their meals, not carry around plates and grab bites behind the counter in front of the pass. Both our meals came out lukewarm with obvious signs they had been sitting under a heat lamp waiting for some time. Our eggs had began to harden and get the plastic look from sitting out after cooking. My home fries had obviously been left in the fryer too long. They came out dark russett and beginning to taste burnt. The biscuits crumbled at the slightest touch and could not be sliced or buttered. My cashier was too busy having conversations with her co workers to Ben give more than a rehearsed canned conversation or thanks for dining. Though mid day after church, the dining room is as under half full. If the quality of the food remains the same, we will never return if we give them a second chance.
