Reasonably priced, mostly clean room, a bit tight w/ furnishings (room 116). 2 queen beds, 1 queen or 1 king would be more appropriate. tiny dated bath with tiled shower stall, no towel bars. Dirty drawers with extra pillows/linens. POTENTIAL HISTORY of bed bugs but no active live signs. Hot tub on site "under repair". Firm mattresses. Mom and pop run place at a budget price, on the high end of budget quality and cleanliness.

This place is neat, super clean, well maintained, and better than name brand hotels I’ve stayed in recently that cost 3-4x the price. The rooms are not big, but def big enough. And I’ll take clean and comfy and well appointed every time over big chain hotels. Pride of ownership shows, and the owners being involved makes all the difference. I’d stay here again and again. Also, fantastic location.

It is a very nice place to stay, first thing that stroke us after opening the door to our room was a fresh scent of laundry - everything was super clean. Furniture and TV is new and up to date, water is hot (you can obv adjust it tho) and staff is very welcoming and helpful

Do not come here if you have a service animal, therapy animal or an ESA! Rented 2 rooms, paid $395 per room plus $150 deposit per room. First you can't even check in at the Apex inn at all. After reading the seven signs on the door we found out that we had to travel to go get our keys from a whole another location. When asked if I had a pet I said we have a dog which is my sisters ESA and he also is training as a service animal to detect my nephews blood sugar levels she just looked at me and said, "if we find a pet in your room we'll keep your $300". Well, you can't keep $300 when the deposit is $150 per room but we'll deal with that when it happens and I never said I had a pet, I have a dog which is my ESA for my sister...... She then tells me to sign the screen as it's going to ask questions. I started signing and got to a part that said, "no animals that are not ADA compliant" I asked what type of document would I need to produce? She LAUGHED AT ME. Literally laughed and said, "if you knew what the difference was then you know". I asked her again, "what documents do I need"? She again laughed and said, "oh we just know". I explained that I ran an organization that trained service animals for veterans so that I am very clearly aware of what documents I would have to supply not only in California but also in Louisiana however she still continued to tell me how people just make that statement so they don't have to pay a deposit and to have their pet with them. I explained that I not only trained animals but I run apartment communities and have for almost 25 years. I have to know and understand the laws when it comes to Fair Housing and service and emotional support animals. All she would say is, "you can just tell. Emotional support animals MUST stay with you at ALL times and if we see you without the animal then we'll charge you and we'll know you're lying". So basically you're saying I have to keep my animal with me or on a leash at all times, that I cannot step outside the room without my animal? I'm sorry but that's not how that law works. You can in fact step away from your ESA and I don't think I understand the amount of control you think you have over people. You want me to sign something you can't give me an answer to. Talk about pushing ADA policies but not knowing them, understanding and explaining your policies.... I will not be recommending or staying here again. You don't understand your own policies which means you don't understand the California laws. I fault no one for not knowing how to treat people with service animals, or emotional support animals. I do however feel that you should know something about what you can and cannot tell people when it comes to service and emotional support animals if you are running a business.

You also have no ability to use the trash bin on site because they keep it locked with a padlock and there is no one on site to help you with anything.

The girl cleaning the rooms looks like she's been up for a couple days and the boyfriend decided to come hang out with her the last 30 minutes and wait around.

I have never been this disappointed in a hotel, motel or inn that I've stayed in my entire life and we literally just got here. We haven't even stayed the night yet, this just happened to be the experience I had checking in.

Update after staying the night. 5 adults opinions.... Horrible nights sleep. The beds are like sleeping on the floor. Rock hard mattress. Ugh. This place is not at all what any...

can I post 0 Stars! My biggest complaint was when my husband went in to talk to them about the free internet and how we kept getting bumped off so he can"t do his job he had to go down to Starbucks or McDonald's to actually work. The manager started YELLING at him. They told him "You must not understand what free internet is. Don't you understand that it is free?" Which my husbands response was "So you're saying because it's free it doesn't have to work?" And then they started yelling at him more that it's free it's free and you don't understand what free means. So basically they're just saying that since it's free it doesn't have to work. That everything that they give as part of the cost of the room at $154 a night for a MOTEL, if they say it says free then it doesn't have to work. If they would have talked to him as a paying customer we were and treated him nicely this review would have then a little bit better. However any business that would treat their customer who has a complaint and came to them very calmly and very nicely is not worth ever staying at again. They missed the mark on this one. Because we were with 50 other people who all would have been customers next year at the same time. But now, we will do a different Motel next year, all of us! I don't advise staying here because if you have any problems you will probably get yelled at by the...

Made a last minute decision to come to the snow slope on a long weekend, and this place happened to have one room left and allowed for a single night stay, so we took it. I read the reviews before coming but didn’t have many choices so decided to try it out. I think this place doesn’t get many stars because it’s still really expensive - $295 for a night for a family room (2 queen beds). That said, there’s nowhere cheap to stay in Lake Tahoe, especially on a long weekend during the ski season, so it’s not bad.||Our room was surprisingly cute. Very nice and firm beds, at different corners of the room instead of side by side, beamed ceiling, and very good lighting. There’s a end table on each side of the bed, and on each one is a nice new table lamp. There’s a small fridge and microwave and coffee maker, and the heating is just right and quiet. I don’t think the room is exceptionally small as some of the reviews said. There’s enough room to move around, it’s no smaller than other hotel rooms. At least, ours wasn’t (Rm 101). All the furniture seem new, interior is clean and shower wall is marble. My daughter likes the cream and shampoo in pouches. Said they waste less. See my photos as I tried to show our room...
