Big 5 Sporting Goods — Local services in South Lake Tahoe

If you're a person of color, do not shop at this store! My husband, our children and myself went to BIG 5 to look for shoes, and what we got the whole time we were there was an employee (this old man) following us like we were going to steal something. This man pretended like he was putting items away. But every time we looked there he was watching us, particularly my husband. The next time we decide to vacation in South Lake Tahoe we will not shop at this BIG 5... NEVER...

This is my local Big 5. Employees are always helpful knowledgeable and most of all don’t seem pressured to “make the sale” I purchased a rather expensive BB rifle and had to return it unfortunately. I had my reason all set and was ready for the standard argument. There was no argument and I was actually thanked for coming in the store for my purchase. Go figure ! If you're going camping or to the parks or any of the beaches and you want to BBQ, stop at Big 5 at the "Y" and get a propane grill and little bottles of fuel first....Tahoe has a ban on open charcoal flames. Cost is only $39.00 for the grill. Propane bottles sold in pairs at about $6.00. You need to assemble the grill but trust me it's worth it!
