T.J. Maxx — Local services in South Lake Tahoe

Great store, always have a lot of cute stuff, always clean, my favourite spot to go shop ever since i moved to Tahoe. Why one star? Because i was pushed into getting their rewards credit card. The girl at the register offered me a rewards card and i said "no thank you, i don't need another credit card", and she said that it's not a credit card, it's just a reward card. In my understanding "just a rewards card" is analog of grocery store reward card where you just get bonuses for buying stuff. After she asked for my SSN I asked one more time if it was a credit card because why else would they need my social, and she said "no, it's not". I guess i should have just walk away but i felt pressured at this point and just went along with that. After that she said "oh great, you approved" and then gave a printed receipt saying "congratulations, your credit card will be mailed to you soon bla bla bla" and at the same moment she threw away the credit card application THAT I WAS NEVER EVEN GIVEN (i just punched in my phone and ssn on the little pinpad), so i had to take one myself from a little box by the register to read all the terms and conditions. I realize that it's mostly my fault for not turning around but now I am very concerned about my personal information safety - i can't think of any other reason why she did that rather then to get ahold of it. Well, maybe she gets a bonus for every person she signs up for this. If so i hope that store management will read this post and she gets some sort of disciplinary action instead. The customer service cashier, Juliet, was fantastic!! I had purchased a lot of glassware, and she was so great about making sure that everything was wrapped properly and that the glassware would not bang up against each other and break. She was also great about offering me to apply for a TJ Maxx credit card, which saved me an additional 10% off my purchases. The prices were already great, but with this additional 10% discount, it made it even more special, especially at this time of the year. That was also very unusual for someone to talk me into applying for another credit card, when I normally only carry American Express and one other Visa credit card that I pay off monthly. She told me that I can also pay off this card monthly too with no penalty and no annual fee. Again, she was just fantastic helping me with everything! Also her manager who also assisted (I didn't catch her name) with Juliet's register's challenges, was great as well. I also want to thank Karen from the jewelry counter and her manager who I believe was Evelyn that helped me with a returned gift that I had received from my wonderful husband (he had purchased me a Michael Kors watch for my Nov 2nd birthday not realizing that he had already given me this same watch last Mother's Day . . . LOL), and they were so great about helping me with the return. So with all that being said, I want to thank TJ Maxx and all their staff for always being so great, which is also why T.J.Maxx is one of my favorite stores to shop at here in South Lake Tahoe where I live. Oh my goodness, this TJ Maxx was an absolute blast! It was jam-packed with all kinds of fun stuff, I couldn't believe my eyes! The clothing aisles were overflowing with amazing outfits and jackets that I just couldn't resist. And let me tell you, they had everything for Christmas - decorations, gifts, you name it! Not to mention the incredible selection of jewelry, handbags, and clearance items. It was like a shopper's paradise!

The sales associates were all so friendly and helpful, which I really appreciated. It's always a great feeling when the staff goes above and beyond to assist you. As I was leaving, I couldn't help but express my amazement to my salesperson. I told him, "Wow, you guys have an incredible store with so much stuff!" And you know what he told me? They're actually one of the highest selling stores around, and they receive a whopping 7 truckloads of new merchandise every single day. Can you believe it? No wonder it's always buzzing with activity and they're constantly hiring!

My friend and I had such a fantastic time at this TJ Maxx, we're more than willing to drive an hour just to shop there again. It was worth every minute of the journey!
