I was looking for someone to cater a "before the wedding beach party" and had the darnedest time getting ANYONE in South Lake Tahoe to tell me a price for a sandwich platter. Sheesh. It should not be that difficult. Anyways, I found the Beach Hut Deli online and SHOCKER! they had the prices for catering ONLINE! Wow. Yay! So we drove by to take a taste. The staff was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. They answered all my questions, gave me ideas, and were overall just nice.

We decided to pick up lunch too to test things out. I had the Beach Bikini sandwich - it was delicious - loved the bread and the ingredients tasted very fresh. My sister had the Pig Kahuna - the small was HUGE and it was great too! The spicy BBQ sauce with the pineapples made for a great combo and she could not finish it (so I had a bite). My mom built her own salad with tons of fresh veggies for a very reasonable price. For the amount of food, good value!

I just had close to the worst customer service experience I've ever had. The counter person took 5-6 minutes to come take my order. Then I was asked if a 10 minute wait for my sandwich was ok. I said yes although i thought that was a bit extreme as the palce was empyty. it actually took 20 minutes to get 1 sandwich! And the counter person/cashier was drinking water or something in front of customers between taking orders. I think this is rude. As a former restaurant manager, I would never allow my staff to be seen drinkging or eating in the customer areas. When my sandwich took so long and I was sitting wating in the lobby, not once did I get an apology or an update of the time. Either of those would have gone a long way. I live around the corner and will never go back to this location. Too bad as most of my customer experiences in tahoe have been extremly favorable. The people were one of the main reasons for moving to Tahoe. Thankfully this location is an anomaly and...
