I love this place. Even when I travel I look to stay at Comfort Inn & Suites.
Majority of staff at Southfield, Michigan location has been phenomenal with going above and beyond to meet my family and I needs.
Our family is in the middle of moving/family crisis but 2 house we put deposits on retracted the offers for leases.
I (we) have always been respectful, courtesy and in communication with front desk. GM Devon Dallo too. In certain instances at the front desk I had been rudely spoken too, hung up on by 1 front desk associate. Emailed GM regarding that. That was corrected. Leaving out for work this morning I dealt with that same employee. This time our encounter went a lot better. She was smiling, pleasant and made sure my reservation for today was processed. After work I was greeted by the GM as well with a better attitude and service. I stopped by the desk to request a detailed receipt. She informed detailed receipt wasn't available but there was one printed out for my records. My husband and I was running late this morning for our security company detail.
As of today we have been here 7 days. Never did I react in a unruly disrepectful manner. I reported my issues and repairs to corporate, GM email, Verbally with GM and Assistant Manager Michelle.
I reported all amenties that were not working in both executive kitchnette suites for awareness as well as be corrected for our stay. Such as booth big eyes on kitchnette stoves does not work. I've had to use one small eye to cook. Room 213 Jacuzzi Jet nozzle pops off, smaller refrigerator in room 213 verses room 315. In Exec suite Rm 315 following my check-in the phone also did not work. Maintenance did immediately come fix the suite bedroom door panel fro flapping when you open the door.
For the most part houskeeping has been on point until yesterday's housekeeper who was assigned to my room: pullout couch area bed made with same linen. She didnt sweep and mop the floors throughout the sweet. Dirty towels wer taken but not replaced. The housekeeper also remade my bed with the same sheets. I requested a broom and dust pan from the GM yesterday and went down to the main linen room to get all the necessary linen and towels I needed. They were given to me with no problem by the lady associate who was doing the facility laundry.
Yesterday my husband and I washed in the laundry room. Reported the dryer needed to be repaired or replace due to dryer taking couple hours to dry 1 load. In return Asst. GM Michelle offered to take care of us by drying our clothes for us within 30 minutes. We appreciate her going above and beyond to meet our needs.
We are greatful for the good incidents but in the same breath services had to be better.

Read moreDonita at the front desk was amazing!!! We checked in late-around 10 pm- and she was incredibly helpful. I was having some difficulties with my card and she was funny, patient, and very charming! She definitely started our stay off on the right note. The signage at the front desk was very clear, which made it easy to use my debit card (for an additional deposit, which was clearly listed and refunded immediately at check out). Our room was very clean (including the large jacuzzi tub and bathroom) and very spacious. It felt like a vacation, which is exactly what we were hoping for. The door to the hallway was a bit thin and we heard some loud guests around 2 am, but nothing unexpected for a hotel. The pillows were soft and comfortable and the sheets felt very nice. The bed was comfortable and quiet. There were plenty of outlets and lamps, as well as overhead lighting. We had no issues with the TV, lights, AC, or any other room feature. We did not use it, but it was nice to have a kitchenette including a coffee maker. I did not end up using the pool, so I can't speak to the cleanliness or amenities there, but every part of the hotel that I saw was very clean, new, and well maintained. The elevator came in a timely manner. The free breakfast had a good variety of food-eggs, oatmeal and grits, bacon and sausage, 2 kinds of waffle batter and 2 styles of waffle maker, bread and bagels, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, muffins and pastries, cereal and milk, and a wide variety of jam, peanut butter, cream cheese, syrup, and other toppings. There was also 3 kinds of coffee, creamer, hot water, and tea. I'm not usually a fan of hotel breakfast and I was impressed! I came down near the end of breakfast and there was still plenty to choose from. Tiffani (also at the front desk) was also a gem. She answered all my questions and helped me check out very quickly. I didn't catch her name, but the woman restocking the breakfast area was great too! We had a lovely conversation about her glittery Crocs while she worked, and she was incredibly diligent about refilling everything (I saw her 3 times in under 30 minutes). All the other staff I saw were very friendly and polite and greeted me warmly. The other guests were great as well- polite, friendly, and organized. I'm local to the area and will not only stay here again, but recommend it to my...
Read moreFirst and probably last time at a comfort suites. I was just trying to find a reasonably priced hotel that was comfortable to sleep at after a long flight. This was the most money I’ve ever spent to stay at run down hotel. It said they were renovating however driving up at night, the hotel looked sketchy with all top floor windows open up and seeing random items shattered around, made it feel abandoned. Then they marketed at 89, then actual cost was 112 a night, and with fees it was 124 when I originally booked. Then when I checked in there was some more fees which brought the total to $150. It was already almost midnight and I didn’t want to find a new hotel. So, trying to stay positive, I was thinking maybe I had a renovated room and that’s why it cost more. This couldn’t be further from reality. I walk into the room which smelled very nice but that was the extent of the positives, as it was downhill from here. The walls were thin, where I could hear every footstep in the room above me, then woke up to a bunch of loud moaning noises in the room next door. Overall there so many places to choose from, this would not be the place to go. It says renovations are supposed to be completed in May 2024, I would recommend waiting until then, so the price of the room matches the quality you would expect at that cost. Also, the front desk person was so friendly to her coworker saying I hope you have a happy thanksgiving, and such. Then when she turned to work with me, the way that warm friendly demeanor left her body, was almost comical. She wasn’t unprofessional but seeing someone go from very friendly to stone cold was an interesting customer experience. Again had I paid around a 100 for the room, I wouldn’t have an issue, but you can’t charge that much and not have the quality support...
