Based on my short experience with LTU, I wouldn't recommend wasting your time applying for this school.
I was looking for an online Master's program and came across LTU via one of my co-workers. After contacting LTU and describing to them what I was looking for, I was quickly contacted by their admissions center. I'll be honest, at this point everything seemed to be going quite well; I had a few pleasant conversations with my counselor, all information that I had asked for was quickly given, and the application process was very well explained and went smoothly. After that, is where things started going downhill for LTU.
I was finally contacted by my counselor and told that I will not be accepted to the Master's program that I had applied for due to new "requirements." Now, I understand that I have been out of school for awhile at this point and things change, but LTU couldn't even explain what requirements I did not meet. All they told me is that I would be receiving a package explaining everything. Well guess what, I never actually received anything from them explaining the decision.
Trying to gather more information as to why I wasn't accepted, as I was preparing to apply to other programs, I again tried contacting LTU and my counselor. After numerous attempts of trying to get a hold of someone, I never did receive a simple response either by email or by phone call.
I cannot recommend a institution that does not make any kind of effort to keep applicants informed on decisions made, whether accepted or rejected. They are clearly just worried about making money and trying to boost their own rankings. They could honestly care less about potential students in my opinion unless its going to benefit them in some way.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreA great school for graduate studies. I hear a lot of complaints from undergraduate students, especially about the way the teachers treat students. My experience was that there were some very condescending professors but, the majority of the professors and instructors were very approachable and knowledgeable. Classes were small. The teachers were also involved in the local businesses and taught what they were doing at workplace. I did my MSIS and a graduate certificate in Project Management. Everything I learned was immediately applicable. Unfortunately, we were still in a ressession when I graduated so there were no jobs. So, I had to keep my old job. But, I can still use the knowledge I gained there. I am planning to do my MBA there in near future. It is pricy but, I think the experience is worth it. The only downside was the library. A local community college has a better library. I had to use another university library to do my research. The cafeteria was great. Parking was free and parking spots were plenty. The campus was safe. There were times when I was on compus at 2 am trying to complete my assignment. The program was very demanding but, doable. They do not challenge you for the sake of challenging you. They challenge you based on what is expected from you. They take your success very seriously. I missed two classes because of the weather and lost 1 level grade in each class. The staff were very friendly and professional. The food and coffee were great. I really had a great experience and would do it again. But I would not do an undergrad there. For one, it is expensive and classes can be larger. I recommend their graduate programs. I was going to do a DBA but, they discontinued it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter getting a Degree in their Computer Science, Software Development, Web Development Program and being actively a part of Phi Kappa Upsilon, expected to demonstrate confidence and professionalism in the field once completed everything.
But instead demonstrated vindictiveness over time against other people in the same field from other schools all over the globe because of the lack of knowledge gained in the program to succeed, unlike others had.
THIS SCHOOL IS NOT RECOMMENDED OR THE PROGRAMS WITHIN IT to people if you intend to have confidence WITH professionalism taught to you and engrained in you, so you can demonstrate it for all like the advertisements. These traits will not be given to you. You will be taken in willingly, and even given a semi-serious job there to help you along and pay bills, BUT you will NOT make people happy doing what you love. You will instead lash out at people on occasion in a vindictive fashion and not enjoy what you do. THIS IS FACTUAL.
Working there behind a desk still trying to use my degree all over the country and planet since 2011.
This is a warning for all to stay away from this school and people that have just Lawrence Tech Degrees, as you will not go anywhere with them and be stuck in a rut for over 8 years in counting.
This has NOTHING to do with the current economy and status of Detroit Michigan right now. It has to do with all the professors and people that have been around and taught over the time being here. Learned nothing about helping oneself or how to handle a situation properly in a polite manner. Still feel uneducated and act unprofessional after attaining degree. BE WARNED AND STAY AWAY! THIS SCHOOL WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE AND NOT...
