The food is great, one of the best shawarma sandwiches I've ever tasted. But, you have to build your own sandwich with a markup for every additional item! If you order a shawarma you get bread and meat. If you want hummus its a markup, if you want garlic it's a markup. You don't even get onions or turnips unless you ask and then the employees say you should've asked when ordering, I suspect for the cost of the markup. The worst thing of all is how some employees are treated. Our sandwiches were left on the grill for a little to long by an employee questioned about not putting these additional items on the sandwich for free. When we asked a youngman to remove them before they burned he did with no problems and took them to join our fries in the bagging area. The young man was asked by the manager what he was doing so he explained my wife an I asked him to remove them from the grill and place them with our fries to checkout. The manager told the youngman I don't want any lip from you, in a very nasty voice. We then told the manager he only did what we asked and it wasn't his fault. We the asked for the owner who wasn't available, but he informed us he was the manager. We asked he treat the young man a little nicer, the manage hand us our bag offered us...
Read moreHey everyone! This evening we decided to go to CK Grille. Normally we go earlier in the day but it was late and took a chance. Usually I look at my food before leaving a takeout restaurant but CK is usually hands down flavorful and tender. So I’m going to take part of the blame here. From the pictures below maybe you can judge the quality of the food but I’ll really let you know if you can’t tell! The chicken was bone dry, no amount of garlic or hummus could moisten it. My family doesn’t care for the gyro meat so I asked for steak cooked medium. What we got was, I can only guess to be meat, that looked and tasted like dried/shredded no name brand jerky. We’ve been eating hear for years and never had an issue. CK Grille, you’ve got to do better in the late hours. Don’t cook meat so it just sits in the warmer to just dry out and serve it to customers to choke on so you staff isn’t cooking all day. I hope this is seen by the proprietor and quality is adjusted to what I have become accustomed to before 5pm. UPDATE 10/17/23 Update from my previous post. Today I went back to CK and the manager George remade the Family Feast. This is how it should look (right pic) and what I’ve become accustomed to. Thanks for making things right with...
Read moreUpdate 1/7/22 - General manager contacted me within 12 hours, which impressed me and offered a refund, which I refused. Told him I just want the chicken shawarma to be consistently good again. Gave it another try last night and it was great so I am changing from 1 to 4 stars.
Update 01/4/22 - 3 of last 4 Chicken Shawarma orders have been awful and dry, but I just can't seem to write this place off, mainly because they do ala carte orders and because other items are still good quality. I just attempted to contact restaurant via email and will update if I get a reply.
11/17/2021 - I order from here frequently through GrubHub and carry out on occasion and it has always been great. Unfortunately today was not good - My Chicken Shawarma was so dried out and seemed like it was days old. I did order around 1:30, so past lunch time, but this was not good and not acceptable. I wanted to just let them know over the phone but you cannot even leave a message at the restaurant, not matter what you push. So disappointed and now I have to leave a bad review for a restaurant I usually love, but don't know how else...
