Pre-ordered AND pre-paid for a half ham for Thanksgiving. When placing the order, I chose a pickup window on Tuesday (2 days before Thanksgiving) between 3-3:30. I arrived within that window and still had to wait 45 minutes in a line that was probably about 20 people deep. All of us had reserved the same time slot and paid in advance. There was a separate line, which was significantly longer, for people who reserved a ham but didn't pay before arrival. After having already reserved and paid online, in advance, I can see no reason that I should've waited more than 5-10 minutes for a ham that was sitting in the cooler, ready to go. The staff were nice but the whole situation was so poorly managed that it's almost unbelievable. They could find no record of anyone's order...even though they'd already accepted funds. So, be prepared to show your receipt if you decide to get a ham. Their system is terrible. Why there wasn't a list of customer names who paid in advance with a description of purchased items, in alphabetical order, separated by time slot, I will never know. Orders had to be placed days in advance so it's not like the list would be ever-changing. The whole thing was just ridiculous. Get it together Honeybaked Ham. And inform the management of this store about the inefficient way one of their loyal customers was treated. I probably will not return. I went in to pick up a pound of ham by the slice for dinner tonight. It was about 12:30 and I was the only customer in the store. There were no packages of ham in the cooler. So, I asked about them. She told me they are not ready!!! As I looked up and saw and smelled the hams wrapped in gold foil. And know that customers will be asking for ham sandwiches. How, I wonder will she make those sandwiches? She did tell me to “come back in 20 minutes”. So, I left and stopped at HEB to purchase a hickory smoked ham steak to make for dinner. I will make a pineapple sauce on it to bake in the oven. And I know it will smell and taste delicious in comparison to the ham slices. AND I definitely save a lot of money. 1/3 the cost. I was very disappointed with the overall customer service experience from the staff located in Spring, TX. I was more so disappointed in the way they treated customers who were in line with me during such a time like this. The manager was rude and was willing to sabotage someone else’s Thanksgiving who had already paid for their order to ensure she had a meal for her own family.
