Midtown Inn — Hotel in Springfield

Unfortunately my experience with this hotel/motel wasn’t a good one. My son attempted to rent a room for a week this past Saturday. As I sat in his vehicle I noticed a woman come to the window and look directly at me. My son returned to his vehicle and stated that he would not be able to book the room. (she’d already told him the price of the room). I went back into the hotel and asked her what was the reason for denying him the room after giving him the price. She stated that it was because she observed someone else in his vehicle. I asked her if it was there policy to deny someone a room because of other occupants in there vehicle. She said yes because people had been deceitful in the past about how many people would actually be in the room. I explained to her that it is not right to place judgment on someone you have never met or had any interactions with based on your past experiences with other people. I asked what her name was and she stated that she didn’t have to tell me that. I told her that was fine and I would be filling a grievance. I will say that I do not know what their policy states regarding their reasons for denying someone a room. However I stand by what I feel. The treatment we received was unfair and unnecessary. As I was exiting the establishment after telling her to have a good night. Her response was “my boss told me to do it “ I’m very disappointed and I really hope no other potential guest experience what we experienced. Also, my son would have been the only occupant of the room because I was headed back out of town to go home...

I booked a room with priceline. When I showed up the front receptionist was in disbelief that I had booked a room. I pulled the reservation up for the receptionist and handed her my phone. She asked was I out of town? . She seemed very upset and angry as if I was bothering her for staying at the motel. She wanted to know what I was doing in town? In my reservation which she looked at it showed I booked 2 double beds up to 4 people and wanted a non smoking room. I said we were in town to pick up a friend here in Springfield. She said "who is we" She got very irate with me and said you didn't tell me there was 3 people and why is your car so loud? She said how did it go from 2 people to 3 people. Then she asked me for $60. I felt like I was checking into a prison. I informed her I already paid through priceline. She said very rudely take it up with them. I was just making conversation with her stating that its upsetting I hope I don't get charged double. She threw the money back at me and told me to get the hell out of the motel and to take my privileged self somewhere else. Then had the nerve to tell me that I was being rude to her. I have never felt so much hatred and hostility from a business in all my life. I prayed for the woman and told her I come in peace. She continued to be very angry with me. Its very sad to see this. This place seems sketchy... I didn't feel safe even in the parking lot. There were chairs and a grill set up randomly in the parking lot like people are using this place as their own yard. I pulled up to make a delivery and was being watched by some awkward acting individuals... couldn't leave fast enough. And it was still daylight- can't imagine even going at night. No thanks. Edit: The" area" is not designated ...there were random chairs and a grill whose lid was scattered farther away littered throughout the back parking lot. Why would someone want to park in a parking stall not knowing if there was a gathering about to be done near their vehicles? I DID know where I was going... and there were not individuals offering direction or help. I was being eye-balled as I unloaded things from my van. No one wants to be watched from afar and then closer up while unloading their vehicle, like they were taking inventory of what they could take. This place IS sketchy, and I would not feel safe at this establishment, video cameras in place or not. Your clientele seems to consist of people in dyer circumstances needing a place to stay. I was making a delivery to one of those people that day. And although they need a place to stay and will take what they can get, I would not in any way, shape, or form recommend this place to a traveler. My...
