JCPenney — Local services in Springfield

The photo department is a joke. Now i understand that it is june so it is pretty warm outside however that doesn't mean that the temperature inside the store should be anywhere near what it is outside. Im confused as to how any person, big or small, could be comfortable taking pictures that have any chance at looking decent when they are covered in sweat because the shoot room is "right next to the boiler." You are a department store! Get a fan and have it set up in the rooms. If people have "passed out" before because it is so warm then shouldn't that be an indicator that the temperature needs to be adjusted? You have extra lighting set up so the photos have a chance at looking decent so there is already extra heat added without even adding any bodies to the room. My husband and i took our 2 small children (1 & 2) for pictures, plus the photographer and the additional staff member trying to get the kids' attention. That is 6 bodies adding their heat to an already small room! GET A FAN OR ADJUST THE TEMP JC Penny's! OTHERWISE DONT BOTHER...

I love this store. From what I understand it is the only free standing (not attached to a mall) in the country. And it's on the east side of town, when will people learn that not all of us are interested in driving to the west side to shop. It is always busy which is nice to see compared to the mall. I wish they carried furniture like they do in some of the larger cities. The one thing I don't like is that Burger King built a fast food place one block away from the one they built a few years ago leaving another empty building and taking up green space in the Penney's parking lot. Why does the city of Springfield feel they need to hand out building permits willy nilly and leave so many chain stores empty. Very poor planning...

This is wonderful store! All the employee's here are so helpful, there's a greeter when you walk through the doors to help direct you where you want to go, the employee's don't just walk pass you, they acknowledge you and ask if you need any help. I was looking for stockings and I ended up in bras, the lady working that department stopped what she was doing and took me to the department where the stockings were. This store aced it on customer service. Plus the store was organized very well, it was clean and there were plenty of sales people on the floor to assist you. They have a wonderful selection! I left with a purchase of exactly what I was looking for. I will definitely be back to shop here, I...
