I bought a 2014 Toyota Corolla from them about 2- 2 1/2 weeks ago now.
First off, I am in LOVE with my car. I had a handful of minor issues to fix that I didn't know about when I bought it. None of these issues have cost me more than $10 TOPS to fix. SO, the issues were more of getting over my laziness to fix. The issues I have found (and since fixed) was a dead key fob (fixed with a new battery - $3), a stripped front license plate hole (This one I did suspect when I purchased the vehicle. I paid my friend $10 to fix it up for me), and on my drive home after purchasing my tire pressure light came on. I took the car to a shop a few days ago and they found one tire was a little under inflated. Once again, this was simply a minor inconvenience that did not and should not have affected the price of my vehicle. I haven't found any major issues with the car yet, and I dont expect to at this point.
The price of my car was unbeatable. I spent months searching for the right car for me, and educated myself on the prices I should expect to spend on the different types of vehicles I was considering. The Toyota Corolla was typically only in my price range IF it had an abundance of miles (110,000+) on it. The car I purchased from them was not only in my price range, but was also under 90k miles! The price seemed suspicious to me, so I did ask for the car-fax before driving to Springfield to even see the car. The car-fax was clean enough for my comfort (The car has been in one minor accident early on in it's life. However, it was sold after this at a certified Toyota dealership as a Certified Used Toyota) so I scheduled an appointment to test drive the car.
While this was my first car-buying experience for myself, I did grow up around dealerships due to my parents professions. Due to this, I found it odd that I was able to simply test drive the car on my own. I discussed this with my friend who came along, and he pointed out that it might be due to COVID. After the test drive I secured a loan through my bank, but did talk to their financial department just in case they had better options to give me. My experience with the fiance department was long and confusing, but being a young individual it was somewhat expected. Like I said, I did secure a loan with my bank ahead of time so it wasn't absolutely necessary that I got a loan from them anyway.
My ONLY complaint in my car buying process with them was that I felt as if I was inconveniencing the salesman I talked to before finalizing paperwork. I did put a down payment down on the car and asked that they put my car on hold so that I could return with the check from my bank, they agreed to do this (and they kept their word on it). I wanted to see the paperwork on the car before I gave them the money or signed anything, and the salesman acted like I was being ridiculous for asking for such things. After I got the paperwork in my hand, I noticed the paper said my car was blue. This was concerning to me as my car is actually a dark grey, and I wanted my paperwork to read the correct information. The car was also listed on Facebook, Kelly Blue Book, their website, and car fax as a gray vehicle. When I asked for this simple change to get made, I was informed that the car was blue. My friend laughed when the salesman said this and the salesman pulled up a photo of the vehicle and looked at him and said "Do you think it's gray?". By this point my friend and I both felt uncomfortable so we both just dropped the subject. I signed the hold paperwork and gave them my down-payment. I returned the next day and finalized my paperwork & purchased the car. The paperwork still reads that the car is blue, despite the Toyota website listing the cars color as Slate Metallic.
When I finalized the purchase of my car, I had zero issues (different salesman). I was warned by friends about similar car buying experiences at this dealership, but they had the car I wanted so I dealt...
Read moreI drove down to Springfield expecting to purchase a truck from Faine's Auto Sales, but they sold the truck to someone else the night before I had an appointment to sign the paperwork... So, in lieu of that, I came to Auto Mall of Springfield to look at similar '03-'07 Dodge Ram 2500's and Eddie took OUTSTANDING care of me!
First off, I pulled up to their lot at 920 S. Dirksen and was blown away by how many trucks they had lined up. Literally the Used Truck Emporium! Truck after truck after truck... And not just a couple Diesel trucks - a whole ROW of Diesel trucks! It just kept going! Trucks for DAYS!
I am SO GLAD I came to Auto Mall to purchase my truck instead of going somewhere else! - Auto Mall is the single most-honest, most-straightforward, least-stressful, no-pressure used car dealership I've ever set foot inside! No high-pressure salesman following you around the lot, breathing down your neck trying to make a sale, nope! Eddie took a photo of my Driver's License and threw me the keys to the two diesel trucks I was looking at and let me take as long as I needed to inspect & test drive each vehicle, letting me put some actual miles on each one of the trucks, even giving me the option to drive the trucks over to a mechanic to have them checked out further.
At the end of the day, I found a STUNNING Patriot Blue 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 with the legendary 5.9L 24-Valve Cummins Turbo Diesel engine with only 111,000 Miles on it! Beautiful Rust-Free Montana truck! – Ultimately I think the Lord intervened and sold that truck at Faine's for a reason. – I got a better deal on a nicer truck with better maintenance records AND lower miles at AutoMall... plus I didn't have to deal with the incompetent salesmen at Faine's who jerked me off for 7 days, ran TWO hard inquiries on my credit, refused a $1500 deposit for the truck, lied to me that I was the only interested buyer, called the desk & asked to speak with a different salesman, then got handed back over to the clueless new guy who lied some more... and then sold the fkn truck to someone else the night before I had an appointment to sign the paperwork and make it official at 9am the next morning.
According to their staff, AutoMall gets a fair bit of business from customers who got screwed over by Faine's one way or the other... so save yourself the headache and just make AutoMall your first stop in the Springfield, IL area.
Before I came to AutoMall, I didn't realize that buying a used car or truck could be such a painless, straightforward, stress-free process. "The Dealer with a Difference" is right! This is the first time I've ever been comfortable buying a used vehicle and didn't feel like I was being ripped off or taken advantage of in some predatory way because of my credit score.
If you're in the market for a Used Diesel Truck (or even a Gas Truck), I would highly recommend AutoMall of Springfield if you're looking for an above-average used truck buying experience. They're also one of the few places in Illinois that consistently has a nice selection of Pre-Emission Diesel Trucks that won't break the bank. – Regardless of what you're looking for, whether it's a Dodge RAM, a Chevy Silverado, or even a Hellcat Charger, Eddie will take great care of you!
Thanks to Eddie at AutoMall of Springfield, I am now the proud owner of my Cummins-Powered...
Read moreThis is the worst dealership.I have ever bought a vehicle i paid 12000 for a truck with 250000 miles which was an absurd price, but it was a diesel, so I assumed it was fine first of all JAY i repeat the salesman named Jay was not a good salesman he told me practically nothing. When I asked does the trucks 4 wheel drive work? He said yes, absolutely but before that, I had checked if it did, it did not because it did not have a front drive shaft. I told him that's not true, you just lied, and he said, I didn't know what I was talking about. He Was snarky, enacted like I was an idiot. The whole time. Claimed it had zero blow by it did quite a lot told me they didn't hold it together with duct tape, it was a good truck funny that because the radio was held in by a wood bracket and duct tape and my dash fell off but that's not even the worst haven't even had the truck for a month i was driving on the highway for like 30 minutes and the hood came open slamming into my windshield, destroying the windshield, destroying the hood destroying all the brackets and scratching my fenders would have been nice to know. The bracket was loose and falling apart it did not come with a spare tire like I was told now I have to pay for newfenders hood and a windshield. On a side note, I broke down the other day and had to get a new power steering pump and lift pump because my truck just died. If you're thinking about buying a used vehicle from them, think otherwise I know you're gonna read this review and say, oh well, it will be different for me it won't I did the same thing please i know you like the price, but don't do it it's not worth it. And they did all of my plates wrong they made my plates for some random chevy, and I got pulled over and they said, these are not the correct plates thank the lord.I didn't get a ticket i contacted them and they fixed it which is about the only good thing I can say about them but he shouldn't have been wrong in the first place. Unless I can get financially compensated for a new windshield and hood and brackets. I will not take this down. Please make it right i would love to take back what I said but as of now, you have lost me A lot of money it's going to cost, maybe 1500 after all the parts and a new windshield so please send me a check make it right but you won't because you're scammers maybe I'm wrong but the ball is in your court
Also my front brakes are the only ones that work. I had to get new rear calipers and and new brake lines.
So please send me something 1000 1500 2000. $500 I don't even care that would make it right for me just do something to prove...
