YIKES!!! This place is a dump! For reference, we were in room 215. I'll start with the bathroom. Whole tiles were coming up on the floor. We were daily throwing away pieces of grout. There was hair that was not ours as soon as we entered. The counter was falling apart at the seams with no seal. The wall outlet was placed in a hole that was cut too big for the plate, so it was open all around it. I am sure that is not to code. The entire bathroom needed to be cleaned. Yuck! There was a huge stain on the couch, so we did not sit on it. There were stains on the ceilings! There was a large splatter stain on a half wall between the living/sleeping area. It looked like blood...we don't know. We honestly did not want to sleep in the beds. The remote for the t.v. never worked properly and we got stuck in the elevator for 5 minutes before someone from the staff got the doors open. Then the staff member argued with us that it just takes awhile for the doors to open. Umm. We never moved floors and there was a large buzzing/alarm sound going on inside the elevator and the doors WOULD NOT OPEN!!! The ONLY reason we stayed was because we had a bunch of family staying at the same hotel but as it turns out, they had the same experience. We used to stay here every time we were in town, but have not travelled since 2019. NEVER AGAIN! As soon as we got home, we fumigated our luggage, changed clothing, and washed all our clothes in HOT, HOT water and vaccuumed and disinfected out the suitcases. They are still in the garage until I check them to make sure we did not bring any bugs home. Oh! And the breakfast was boring and gross. The ONLY good thing was the location in reference to where we needed to be in town and that shopping was close. THAT WAS IT! I would ask for a refund, but I am hoping that they take the money and start fixing up the place. I truely do not know if it is fixable. I just review our room. Each of our family members had issues and won't be back either. I am not sure if it is fixable or just needs...
Read moreI'm generally pretty tolerant of the hotel experience. My wife and I spent a week here. As has been mentioned in many of the previous reviews, this place is due for updating. We stayed in Room 102. Apparently the residents above ( 202 ? ) were pacers, line dancers or the like. EVERY frequent step they took sent squeaky, creaks down to us. We tolerated that during our stay. On check in, we saw the toilet seat was very loose and there was very poor water pressure in the sink and shower. I advised maintenance and they responded quickly and addressed both. While the sink was better, the shower was low pressure. Next were the insects. In our week there, we had 4 crickets in the room. On the next to last day, we had a silverfish in the bathtub. While its a "rule" that you generally dont walk barefoot on hotel room floors, sometimes this isnt feasable ( early AM trip to the bathroom). When I stepped into the shower, dirty footprints were visible on the tub bottom from the crud off my feet. You could literally SEE a couple prints in the room that looked like oily bootprints. While they did provide the standard fridge, microwave and coffee maker, there were only 2 accessable outlets. Meaning you had to unplug one to use another T he walls are very thin, allowing you to partake of the barking 4 golden retrievers in the next room, the small whatever it was across the hall and the several children on the other side of us. Lastly the housekeeping was hit or miss. I understand they dont change linens on an extended stay rental. But twice we had to ask for the trash to be emptied and new towels. On the PLUS side, the overall appearance of the hotel is acceptable and the free breakfast each morning were much...
Read moreThe property is crumbling. In front, they have replaced the original overhanging awning with a 2x4 and plastic paneling alcove which serves as the perfect hangout for the local homeless population. That is, when they aren't sleeping in the fitness center (which he was when my family and I arrived). The fitness center is not secured to guests only by the use of a key. Neither is the pool.
The room was a midden: dirty, dusty, musty. When we rolled out the sofa bed, dirt and dust cascaded out of the frame into the air. The mattress was well beyond its prime: stained and threadbare with springs exposed. It was also covered in a dingy yellow fitted sheet that was too large for it and an even dirtier mattress pad. The sheet had dirt, shredded fabric from the fold out frame, and dead bugs in and on it.
The front desk was courteous, but did not understand my request for clean linens. I finally got a single flat sheet to put on the sofa bed.
The kicker, though, the one that broke my limit, was being accosted in the hallway WITH MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER by yet another deranged homeless man begging for money and being aggressive.
THIS PROPERTY IS NOT SAFE FOR FAMILIES. They have no control over the front door access point, leaving guests at risk.
The only positive that I can give is that the front desk employee was kind and courteous, and refunded our stay immediately upon demand. (Well, so far anyway: I have a receipt for a refund, but I ALSO have a mysterious second charge for the same amount immediately afterward. I'm going to give this the required 5 day waiting period that Capital One imposes before contacting Springfield PD about the Unlawful use of a credit...
