We came here for a weeknight dinner and it was okay. The restaurant is a large room that has a division of wine racks towards a bar type area. Unfortunately even with the restaurant not very full, the sound carried and you could easily hear everyone else's conversations. I can't imagine it would be an intimate dinner if the restaurant had actually been busy. Lighting was dim but not in a cozy/intimate way.
Food was okay but nothing special.
Appetizers: The tuna tartare was okay but Vele does a better version. We agreed the best dish was the baked brie but it was definitely heavy as it's a whole wheel of cheese. The devil eggs were fine.
Mains: My pork chop was overcooked and dry, if I hadn't been so hungry I would have skipped finishing this. The filet mignon was fine but nothing really special, you could get this at any restaurant at this price point. My husband noticed they didn't ask what doneness he wanted for his steak, but luckily it came out at a medium.
Desert: The creme brulee had a thick layer of caramelized sugar on top, unfortunately due to the thickness it seemed that it was more burned than actually melted which definitely distracted from the overall desert. The burned pieces of sugar were quite bitter and jarring to find in the sweet cream of the actual dessert. I've had plenty of creme brulee that I've enjoyed but this was definitely not one of them.
I can't say there was anything that made the restaurant stand out. They had some good ideas but lacked in execution. I don't think we will...
Read moreI don't like giving restaurants a bad review but I have to be honest. To begin, prices are too high for sub standard food, inexperienced servers, and dirty looking dishware and utensils (if it wasn't dirty then you should have gotten new dishware yesterday better yet months ago) Then, our waitress recommended the special never told us it was $60 we ordered two of them smh. It was nothing special about the special either it was a large steak but 70% of it was fat, what a disappointment. They don't give you any starters either, nothing complimentary like bread, salad etc nothing. Anything they bring to your table you are going to pay $ for it or starve for 45 minutes until they bring your food, no joke. I finally gave in and ordered the deviled egs and a salad and was disappointed again. The little salad was like $9 and it was a hand full of lettuce and crasins with salad dressing drizzled on top on one of those dirty looking blue saucers again, no fn joke. I swear I could've made a better salad for my whole neighborhood for less than that. I could keep going but I will stop there, I think you get the picture and if not go give it a try. Hopefully this review will inspire them to do better, or just shut down I promise you will not be...
Read moreWe recently dined at Indigo Restaurant in Springfield and were thoroughly impressed by the whole experience. The atmosphere is modern and chic, with dim lighting and stylish decor, making for a great date night setting or intimate dinner with friends.
The pricing at Indigo is on the higher end, but it's well worth it for the quality of food and service you receive. The menu features a variety of options, from seafood to steak to pasta dishes, so there is something for everyone. I highly recommend trying the lobster ravioli - it was absolutely delicious and full of flavor.
On the downside, the portion sizes were a bit small for the price, so be prepared to order multiple courses if you have a big appetite. The waitstaff seemed a bit overwhelmed at times, leading to slower service than I would have liked.
Overall, my dining experience at Indigo was excellent, and I will definitely be returning. The ambiance, delicious food, and upscale feel make this restaurant a must-visit in Springfield. Just be prepared for the higher prices and potentially slower service...
