Burger Bar — Restaurant in Springfield

We just tried the Burger Bar on Sunshine and Glenstone in the VIB lobby for a date night and were blown away by how good it was.

I'm a self-reported burger snob, I'm picky.

I tried their Hamburqueso burger tonight and my husband got the Mushroom Swiss. I don't normally order "novelty" burgers but ordered it on a whim, and I'm also not usually a fan of mushrooms so I really bet it all on red 😂

Both burgers were fabulous- cooked to perfection, flavorful and fresh. The queso, guac, and pico on mine were excellent quality- they're not using canned stuff on these. I also tried the Mushroom and Swiss and ended up quickly snagging a second bite. I would have had a third but my husband growled over it protectively.

We tried their fries (hand cut and fried in tallow) and onion rings (battered, no panko) and were thrilled.

Don't let this hotel burger fool you, it's quality stuff. It's easy to get to, easy to park, you just walk in the doors and you're ordering at the counter so it really doesn't even feel like you're in a hotel. Service was fast and excellent.

They do have a bar with signature cocktails and a myriad of other menu options. I regret that I don't have the appetite of 4 people or we would have ordered more. Anyway, go eat there,...

Went here on a date night one Friday evening. We’d driven past the location many times but had never been before. It’s a very informal setting, but the lobby area is nice—with TVs and a bar.

The food was amazing! We had a couple of burgers, a jalapeño popper appetizer, and waters—all for around $35. The garlic smash burger was excellent—rich, but not overly so. The Plain Jane was also a great burger; all the vegetables were fresh and in season. The jalapeño poppers with berry sauce were fantastic. Everything was super fresh, hot, and served without any issues. The fries were also very good. Well worth the money in our opinion.

Arrive early to beat the crowd and hopefully catch one of the burgers on special that day.

The menu isn’t large, but it has enough variety to make your decision tough—and it’ll definitely make you want to come back to try more.

I love to give 5 star reviews and this one isn't quite there.

1st, i thought it well priced for the portion. The fresh cut fries were a 5. Spot on crispy and tasty.

I got the garlic aoili burger. The dressing, carmalized onions and bun were really good. That said, the two burger patties were overcooked and a little dry. There was plenty of the garlic aoili and that helped add a little moisture but the patties were just to far past even well done for me.

For me a good smashburger shouldn't be even a little bit dry. Part of the allure of a good burger is for it to be really juicy. Unfortunately, this one was not. If it were, I would have gladly given it 5 full stars. Just not...
