BATTLEFIELD INN REVIEW On May 9, my husband and I called Battlefield Inn to see if they had a non-smoking room available and told them that we had a dog with us. The lady I spoke to said they had a very nice clean non-smoking room available. When we checked in, she gave us two keys and we went to our room. As soon as we open the door, we smelled this very horrible odor. We weren’t sure if it was marijuana or something else that almost smelled like something had died.
I then went back to the office and told the current man working that this room had a very horrible odor and that we couldn’t stay there because I have asthma and the smell was making me sick to my stomach. Then, I noticed that the office area smelled just as bad. He told me that he could give us another room, but if we decided to leave, we would not get our money back. I figured most of the rooms would smell like that, so I went back and talk to my husband, and we decided to book a room at another hotel.
When I took the keys back to the office, there was a really nice man working at the front desk, and I told him we were checking out because of the smell in the room, and also because there was a man roaming around the parking lot asking for money. He was still outside several times when we took the dog for a walk. We were afraid that if we did spend the night there, he may have tried to burglarize our car. The man in the front desk told me that cars have been broken into before on several occasions, and this was not a very safe place to be. We did not get our money back, but we learned a lesson to check out a room before we pre-pay for a room.
We booked a room at another hotel, and it was absolutely wonderful. It smelled so fresh and clean. I couldn’t believe the difference in the cleanliness. Sorry, but I would not recommend Battlefield...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I have stayed here several times in the past and honestly it's usually pretty nasty. The bathroom is disgusting and falling apart. The room we stayed in last time had dry dog poo piles on the floor near the bed. We were thankful it was dry at least. Every room that we've stayed in smells awful and just has issues. The room is extremely dark. Bedding has holes in the sheets and stains. Burn holes are everywhere especially in the tub. The best part is staff starts banging on the door around 10:30 am to remind us that check out is at 11am. I think it's really rude that staff does that. Also they charge everyone different prices for the same exact room and time the guest will be staying. Guest one is staying one night so he's charged $130.00 for one night. The $30.00 is a deposit that is given back after the guest checks out. So guest two is charged $90.00 total for one night but his deposit was only $20.00 and his fee was only $70.00 because that's what the person at the front desk felt like charging that guest. In my opinion that doesn't seem very fair. Well if you're thinking about staying at the Battlefield Inn even after reading the reviews, well then good luck and lock your vehicle. Robberies happen...
Read moreIt was horrid to say the least. Nasty is what it was. I had asked for a refund on night one before sleeping there. The owner said he doesn't do refunds. The night guy said the owner only accepts cash that way they don't have to do refunds. I made the mistake of paying for a week upfront, that was a huge mistake. I ended up leaving 4 days early without a refund due to THE BATTLEFIELD INN was ewwww nasty. The carpet and drapes are from the 80s at best, exposed wiring, doors don't open all the way, I had to ask for my room to be cleaned and when I did only the pillows were moved lol. They do not clean all the way or at all if you don't ask or you're checking out. The cobwebs were black!!! Alright, you all know that it takes a very long time to develop black cobwebs strung in every crevice. The shower had black mold. The air/heat unit was outside the bathroom up high about 6.5 feet. They had a stool that rolled lol to get up there to set the temp. Thing is the temp gets changed often in a small room due to ambient temperature. I had fell once on the rolling stool they provide to have to touch that nasty thing. DONT stay at THE BATTLEFIELD INN,| ☆☆☆☆ STAY AT ECONOLODGE as ECONOLODGE is the exact opposite of the...
