this hotel is not owned by Marriott but represents Marriott I am a professional athlete I travel a lot and I am a platinum elite member I came into town for two nights I checked in for an hour and my father had a heart attack so I had a family of emergency and I let the front desk manager know I didn't even stay that night or the next night and the front desk manager told me that I would not be charged for the second night after dealing with my family situation I looked at my bank account and they charged me for both nights so I called Marriott to rectify the situation and they told me the hotel was owned by an individual not by Marriott and that it would be up to them so I emailed the manager back and she was very rude to me in an email and said that they're not giving me my money back because it was a prepaid rate or and are not going to give me my Marriott points even though the front desk general manager or assistant manager told me that I would not be charged because of family emergency they weren't even willing to work with me, and on top of that they only gave me Marriott points for the one night I didn't stay and not the second night even though I paid for both nights 421.00 dollars for never staying there at all on top of that they rented the room to somebody else so made an additional 210 dollars for a toral of 610 dollars so they stole my money and made more money this is fraudulent activity and thievery and needs to be dealt with I will never stay in this hotel for two reasons they're not empathetic towards a family emergency and they fraudulently take your money even though they told you one thing they do another and then rely on Marriott's policies and they are individually owned so they believe they're not liable and because they're not owned by Marriott so when you call Marriott you can't do anything about it I would not recommend that you stayed there and I would not recommend that you ever prepay for anything in case you have a family emergency. And they are liable as we shall see. they are going to respond to this wait and see with a Marriott policy that a prepaid rate can't be refunded even if you don't stay there but they're not owned by Marriott it's an individual owner they just use Marriott policies as a way...
Read moreMe and my family have stayed at this location many times before over the past 3 years since it has opened always have had a great experience that's why we choose to go back but.... this time March 2nd for a last min weekend getaway and do some shopping noticed the place has taken a turn staff wasnt dressed professinally ( lip ring and old hoody) that was the front person if someone was even there matter of fact we called down at 9pm to get extra towels for the a.m nobody even answered. The cleaning lady on our floor was blasting rap music on her phone I dont really care I personally listen to rap but either or maybe someone else wouldnt appreciate that. Also there was major construction going on from a sprinkler water line bursting during that week of sub zero temps I actually do construction for a living and noticed things were not tied up correctly kids could easily touch some unprotected outlets exit signa missing Etc. If I was a manager at this place would at least post some signs please excuse our mess or something actually when we got off the elevator when we got on our floor almost went back down to make sure we had got the right room. Room was clean as usual morning breakfast staff was friendly quite a bit of the typical food items were out but had just had a large crowd come though. Dont think well be back go back to the Microtel on the hill they down have a pool but the staff is top notch. kinda a bummer we like St. Clairsville and is a great short trip getaway Residnece Inn Marriott needs to step...
Read morePhenomenal and then some. My family reunion took place at this hotel during Thanksgiving weekend. Zach provided me phone assistance more than once when I called for hotel information late at night. He understood my concerns. When me and my family checked in we went to our rooms. My room, intentionally situated on the 4th floor in a corner to attain the most quiet, had a distinct smell which I brought to Zac's attention. He actually came upstairs with me and validated that I wasn't crazy. It turns out that a guest had cooked something with a strong smell prior to our arrival. Zach provided another room's hotel key to check out the room. The key was not working. Zach came upstairs to the 4th floor with 3 different keys to offer me 3 different rooms. He continued to express to me that he wanted me to feel comfortable and provided me advice on which room may be the quietest, etc. I was also told the initial room would be deep cleaned due to the unknown scent. I was settled and the room worked out perfectly. I had the opportunity to meet Lorraine more than once when my pet began screeching late at night so I went down to the lobby. She and I had some wonderful conversations during my stay. The hotel was clean and all staff went out of their way to help me and my family. We've been having these family reunions every 5 years since 1995. We have stayed in different states at different hotels. This has been the BEST hotel we have...
