Welcome to my first ever one star review! Travelers beware: the staff are nice, but management does not care about or take care of the property: stay at your own risk. -$15 for parking on the premises and a conveniently placed "no parking sign" along the curbs all around the property outside of the hotel parking lot. Not a terrible sin, but it definitely sets the tone for what your expectations should be here. -They have dusty (used??) rolled up carpets stacked up around each other along with various other items and pallets in a corner of the garage, resulting in it being so musty in there you can smell the carpet from across the garage and it irritates your lungs. -First room we stayed in had roaches literally crawling out of the sinks (Yes plural, and yes in both the kitchenette and the bathroom) and then the tub clogged for mystery reasons after the plug got stuck and refused to turn to the right or left. -Guillermo (spelling unknown, nobody wears nametags here) was amazing. When I went to the front desk, I waited for the customer in front of me to leave after they were helped before bringing up my issues to avoid embarassing the staff or causing undue worry to the other guest and Guillermo comped my parking and moved us to a new room at ~1135PM. Kudos man you did your best. Time will tell if I actually get it comped as they haven't returned the deposit yet. (7 days give or take is what I was told, will update if it does not happen) -The second room we stayed in had a torn curtain but was otherwise fine till the next day. In the morning however, we got woken up by a previously unseen "bluetooth relay beacon" falling from the ceiling, causing a surprisingly loud racket for something the size of a matchbox. The A/C unit had soaked the entire floor up to the bed in a 3 foot radius around the machine, this room's bathtub also clogged itself with water and soap again (I think we figured it out but it drains really slow), and there was so much food from previous tenants in the sink's nonfunctioning garbage disposal that food items floated up when the sink clogged as I tried to clean one of the bowls in the room for use. To paint a clearer picture for you I didn't put any food in the sink, the food was already in there. The second room also had a cover sheet which caused me to realize the first room didn't even have one lol. Found blonde hair in the bed also (I'm bald and my partner has black hair) so yikes all around for this winning hotel. -'Why didn't you leave after the first issue?' I hear you ask. Well I made the mistake of using Airbnb and the hotel makes it clear they don't do refunds so we were stuck in this disgusting hotel for the night. -I told the front desk about the issues during checkout and she apologized profusely, took my name, email, and even my phone number. Nobody reached out, but they didn't forget to specifically ask me for a review via airbnb lol. -Save your money and go elsewhere. This place is quietly disregarded shambles, and frankly I'm shocked they still have their franchising if this is how the hotel is run. -UPDATE! They're also ignoring air bnb as well! Wild decision. Going out of your way to refuse to try and make up for there being actual roaches in the rooms, mystery hairs in the bed, and plumbing that doesn't work. Yikes lol what an embarassing decision. I hope the desk clerks find a better job soon, because this is how your managers treat people who pay the hotel real money to sleep there, imagine how they'll treat you...
Read moreI didn't want to leave a public review until I had a chance to correspond with Management, but they do not have a "contact us" link on their webpage...so, here goes: We have been staying at this hotel 3 or 4 times a year for the past 20 years. This was NOT a good experience. The room we reserved was not available at check-in. After much discussion, the manager agreed to upgrade us from a studio to a suite. (We have always booked a suite in the past, but the prices have increased so much under the new management, that we cannot justify the additional expense.) We were on the 4th floor (Room 407), on the side of the hotel we like (almost no street noise.). The curtains were a mess. It looked like the blackout curtains had been clawed / shredded by a cat; the sheers had rips and snags in them. The bed had a top sheet (yay!) that was so flimsy, you could hold it in front of a book and still read the entire page. The towels were worn and thin. The carpet had ridges in it, like there were tree roots running underneath. There was only one outlet on each side of the bed, so we had to unplug the clock and lamp in order to charge our phones. Every time the guests in Room 409 used their water, the pipes made a noise like a fog horn. The AC/heat unit was worthless! Even set at 72, the room never cooled below 78, and the fan would not run unless I got up and nudged the thermostat down another degree. So, I had to get up about every hour all night long to get the fan to run. Thank goodness for the top sheet, such as it was, as otherwise, we would have had only the down (?) comforter -- which was not in a Duvet -- and we would have been sweltering. The breakfast room has always been small, but this trip it seemed even smaller. The "gym" is pretty much a joke -- 1 treadmill, 1 elliptical, 1 weight bench, and a few weights. The room is warm, but it does have a window. We were unable to use it because it was always occupied. ALSO -- and this is SO not okay -- they are charging for parking!!! What??? There is NOTHING nearby that would necessitate that charge. There are no big businesses where people might be tempted to overflow the business lot, there are no paid parking lots in the vicinity, etc. The "parking fee" is just another way of raising the nightly rate without actually calling it a rate increase. In the past, the hotel has mostly hosted business/professional people. Given that there are other (more expensive, of course) Marriott and other brands' choices nearby, it is unlikely we will be staying...
Read moreSo this hotel, having stayed here twice with bad experiences, I can say is not somewhere you'd want to stay. The staff is overall very friendly however, they have roaches! Not what you should expect from a Marriott at all. The first time I stayed I saw three very large roaches (each at least an inch long) in the same night. One in my room and two running down the hallway. When I complained the staff seemed shocked.. I came back regardless thinking that being a well maintained otherwise Marriott that the problem would have been resolved in the months that passed. It was not. Upon check in I found a squished roach on the ceiling! After having found this I disinfected the room with Lysol wipes only to be even more grossed out to find that the room was very dirty. The wipes in the bathroom turned a brown/ peach color I assumed was from make up from the last guest. I found dirty cue tips and more make up residue in the drawers. The kitchen was equally disappointing as I had not cooked and the wipes picked up old food residue from the counters. The floor had food crumbs in the kitchen like it had not been swept. I found dirt and pennies on the floor in the closet as it had also not been swept. No wonder they have a roach problem... Cleanliness especially regarding food clean up is the first step in avoiding roach problems. Also I took out the trash to avoid finding roaches in my room and found old food splattered in the trash can. Lastly I asked for a late checkout and after returning from running errands at 11:30 (checkout is 12 typically) I found my door was left open by the maids! With all my stuff inside. I closed the door and begun to change my clothes about 20 mins later a male staff member walked in on me changing without knocking! I asked for a 1pm check out which had been obliged by management. I was totally embarrassed. They then called to tell me checkout time had passed and I stated that I'd been given a late checkout, at which point they apologized and said they forgot who they gave the late checkout to. I was just thankful none of my property was stolen as the door was absolutely wide open. Last but not least they raised the deposit to 50 per night from 20 per night regardless of their shortcomings. Oh also the first time I stayed there was a homeless man sleeping in the hallway next to the stairs by the...
